The use of They/Them may(just maybe) influence the gameplay. So 2 days ago I am playing casual in Anubis, and guard A with a Nova. Then suddenly someone throw a smoke at Main(the point at opposite of fountain, the entrance to A), then one guy rush out of Smoke! I am still newbie at that time, so what I do is: "A, A, A! They are coming at A!" I yelled, randomly shooting the moving enemy, "Help, I need support here!" I finish the enemy with one shot from my USP, and aiming at that smoke with my hand shaking, while my teammates rushing at my side. But no enemy rush in again. Then... "The bomb has been planted." As you expected, we have to Rush B, again, and we failed miserably. Never forget the next round when someone type "Who the kcuf yelling at A when they at B?!" So, my point is the use of them/they is definitely have some effects to gameplay. I will suggest always trying to avoid confusion and use callouts that as accurate and informative as possible.

So 2 days ago I am playing casual in Anubis, and guard A with a Nova. Then suddenly someone throw a smoke at Main(the point at opposite of fountain, the entrance to A), then one guy rush out of Smoke!
I am still newbie at that time, so what I do is:
"A, A, A! They are coming at A!" I yelled, randomly shooting the moving enemy, "Help, I need support here!"
I finish the enemy with one shot from my USP, and aiming at that smoke with my hand shaking, while my teammates rushing at my side. But no enemy rush in again. Then...
"The bomb has been planted."
As you expected, we have to Rush B, again, and we failed miserably. Never forget the next round when someone type "Who the kcuf yelling at A when they at B?!"
So, my point is the use of them/they is definitely have some effects to gameplay. I will suggest always trying to avoid confusion and use callouts that as accurate and informative as possible.

It's technically improper grammar to refer to an individual as 'they.' The terms 'they and 'them' are only used properly when in reference to multiple people. A proper pronoun to use in reference to an individual who doesn't identify with either male or female is 'it.'
