They're out of touch, that's why. They see that people love Family Guy, South Park, and King of the Hill, but have no idea at all why people actually like those shows.
I love how, in the pilot, Norm complains about wanting "normal beer" all because his can has a rainbow on it. I guess the rainbow being on the label somehow taints the beer and makes it "gay?" Where did he even get that can, and how did it end up out of the packaging and on that table without him seeing that it had a rainbow on it?
Finally someone fucking said it like bro YOU BOUGHT THE BEER
Since he's wearing an ankle monitor and can't leave the house, I'd assume his wife bought it. And he seems like the type who'd make his wife/daughter get him a beer instead of getting it himself.
@@S0RGEx Yeah, it makes sense that his wife probably bought it. Though, if he had his daughter bring it out to him, wouldn't he have already noticed the rainbow on it? Unless he asked her to put it on the table, and didn't look at it at all before picking it up, I feel like he'd have noticed something as colorful as a rainbow on the can.
Branding has a strange power over consoomers. EmpLemon has a really good video on it that involves Coca Cola and their "New Coke" drink that everybody in the US unanimously hated just because of the branding/marketing, even though he drank the drink himself and said it literally tasted the same.

@@ConnieTheo KotH is a politically diverse show from its time, with its overall messages being about change, tradition, compromise, and ultimately, cooperation. The show effectively caters and challenges both sides of the political spectrum, even in this day and age where the main political beliefs are vastly more different than what they used to be in the 90s.
@@oldworldpatriot8920 Oh totally. It's not that I didn't realize Cotton was suppose to be problematic. It's just that some Cotton episodes follow a very unsatisfying plot structure. @@mcrayden8599 more understandably put, that shit is ass 😂😂
Yeah its the same problem as any other kinda projection project. Its just gross.
I think the problem with shows like this is deceptively simple. If the premise of your show is anti-something, you have already failed at making a good show. In order for a show to be good, the main characters need to have a mind of their own. South Park works because even their worst portrayals had some motivation outside of whatever is being parodied. Shows like this live and die on their comedy, and nobody likes a stand up that sticks to only one general topic. That's the difference between parody and complaint.
"South Park works because even their worst portrayals had some motivation outside of whatever is being parodied."
Could you elaborate? I never watched South Park so I don't really get what you mean...
@@Griffonki The characters are written to have lives of their own beyond just the scope of the show, and the humor punches down at everybody, often times without holding back. It's clear that South Park is a parody made to be as offensive to as many people as possible, which is why so many people love it.
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 thanks dear furry!
@@Griffonki It was just an example, but the same is true for most good shows, and is usually what gets muddled when people say a show 'fell off'. Lets say you want to lampoon vegans by making a vegan caricature. Why are they vegan? What would drive someone to act like that? What other stuff do they think about?
When writing, you gotta ask yourself, "What does this person get up to when they aren't on screen?" Does Darth Vader secretly play with dolls? What does Hitler get obsessed with when he is thawed out in the modern times and introduced to the internet? Is he a cat video guy, or does he watch fat people falling over compilation videos?
Having complex characters means you can tell far more jokes, and with more variety. A general walks in on Darth Vader making engine noises as he plays with scale models in the war room, and he tries desperately to not laugh at the guy who can choke him to death with his mind. Hitler's anime addiction reaches new heights as he discovers JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and you as the room mate have to deal with the sudden influx of body pillows and cat girl figurines.
IRL, Saddam Husein had a bunch of internet memes and cat videos on his computer, right next to important war plans. Isn't that funny?

I just think it looks like shit.
The theme song is actually made by suno AI (someone did a test and it sounded almost identical)
The theme song was made with Suno, and a lot of the writing for the show was probably AI generated as well.
The problem is that these shows are too mean
and i dont mean that "Calling someone the n word is le bad"
more like
"i am the good guy im perfect in every way" vs "im the gross bad guy i have pimples and i eat snot"
in other words their the animated equivalent of Trauma Dump comics
You said it amazingly.
They're mean in the unfunny way, in that they're far too afraid to actually clap hard at whatever it is that they're vilifying, in fear of their intended audience thinking it's too inappropriate for their Christian eyes/ears. The writers of these shows like to pretend like they're making EPIC OFFENSIVE ANTI-WOKE HUMOR THAT'S BANNED EVERYWHERE else, but they're too spineless to even do Family Guy/American Dad tier humor. They're wimps.
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 Oh thats a brilliant take
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 This is Ben Shapiros outfit, they're not worried about religious viewpoints, the agenda here is to milk their audience of old people for cash. He'll probably throw something pro-Israel in there too. New Norm is handcrafted to make Boomercons feel better about themselves.
There's a lot of other problems that this show has, it's just "anti-woke" propaganda.

im norm. i want beer.
The biggest problem with this show is the premise. Main character being an old man, daughter being a leftist, a orwellian police state trying to make him gay, and a "I refuse to get with the times" messaging. It should have just been about a normalish family encountering an abnormal but realistic world a la King of the Hill. You should want to root for Norm. Instead it comes across as "I don't understand kids these days" and being reactionary to things changing around him, it leaves you wondering if even he cares outside of it affecting him personally.
My personal theory for why most of conservative cartoons suck is bc they always punch down not up, comedy is always better and more relatable when you are punching up
If I had to guess, comedy is best produced from a point of pain, if your fighting for the establishment/the current way things are, you are statisitcally less likely to have problems in your life, as you are fighting against change
I’d say it’s the issue that conservative “comedy” has in that they get furious and angry and have to start complaining about what ever issue annoys them before they even get to the punchline.
@@erick5928 "fighting against change" really though, the left has things theyre fighting for, things they want to improve, things they want to change. The right is just "dont like that. dont like that either" like do they actually fight for anything? do they beleive in anything? do they want to improve anything? I really dont get it. All they do is disagree and get angry about things people are fighting for
@@Samkainsta that’s kind of what I meant, they fight for nothing, they just push back
@@Samkainsta Yes, the left loves to invent problems on their head that don’t exist and imagine themselves as this moral crusader fighting against a boogeymen. You’re not fighting for anything, you’re just inventing problems in your head and think you’re the remedy for them. You’re not improving anything, you’re doing anything meaningful in your life, you’re just drowning yourself your own fantasies and making the world dumber.
My advice, act your age and grow up.
