You're a freaking genius! Thank you for posting this video. I have been cursing this tent shed ever since I bought it because it's such a pain to get in and out of. Your solution is much cheaper and easier than ShelterLogic's pulley system. Thanks again. :)

From all the videos I've watched yours is the best I think. Umm I need just rope no pulley. Only thing I Kno I have is screw in eye hooks, so Ill add that on the inside of both poles up top so I can pull it to one pole on it.

I enjoyed your video. It was very helpful. Thank you!
I've seen other door openers, but your's was the first to put the pullup on the outside.

Good points. Thanks. the extra PVC keeps it on the outside. That's a help because of the angled walls. if it goes inside, it jams against the walls.

You may have to "train" it by getting it started. Sounds like the cord is slipping around the bottom, instead of gripping and rotating the tube.
Mine would bunch on occasion, so I let it back down, and helped it get started.

Nice! Going to use this same logic/setup on a winter tarp that can hold heat during the winter months then pull open when we hit those 60-70 deg days sometimes in February here in Colorado.
Built a Gazebo out back and we have a Pergola from the house to the Gazebo so to hold in the heat i'll do this deal on the sides. (I know, kinda hard to imagine without seeing it. I can shoot you some pics. send VIA email if you want)
    Thanks for the Idea!

Great idea. One question. Have you found that pulling that cord up against the fabric door wears - or burns - a "track" into the material?
I have a 24' Shelter logic, have added a tarp over top for U.V. protection, but am worried I might tear into that door fabric with those cords.
If you've found no problem - I'm DOING it.
Thanks again for and feedback - and for making this video.

The cord does not rub the material, so it was never a problem. Go for it.
I eventually covered this shed with tin that a neighbor gave me. The door eventually disintegrated from UV damage, just like the rest of it. Since the door was not available separately, I've left it off.

Nice job . But the rope will work better from the inside , & the p v c shoud be about 6 in. longer on each side of the door . Mount a boat cleet to the front side post to tie off .

Paul Matott that's how they show the kit installed on their video (Shelter Logic). The thing about having to pull the ropes from inside the shelter is how am I supposed to get inside in the first place? The only way I can get inside of mine is by opening the one door. Am I missing something?

      Nifty setup-
Does the paracord cause any extra wear compared with rolling it by hand?
