Whilst the wait for GTA V on the Switch goes on, we have another old school GTA clone in the shape of American Fugitive from Curve Digital. Remember this one is out on Thursday and not today!

I would never get another xbox tho. Every single one i ever had broke. Still all my nintendos, playstations and segas is alive and well.

Excellent news. Absolutely happy to revisit games to show improved patches and have done it for xenon Racer and world tennis tour, so I'll be keeping an eye on this one!

I feel like with the rpg unlockable skill tree. You will be able to lower the police response time. You just have to play the game longer then a couple of hours. I'm excited for this and it looks like a lot of fun
Since this video still shows up as the first result when I search for American Fugitive Switch review I figured I should update anyone looking to buy the game. There have been at least four patches with too many fixes to list, and today they added a bunch of new content. It is currently on sale in the eShop for $9.99 . I just bought it, but I haven't played it yet. Probably get into it over the Thanksgiving holiday.
I'm here because of the sale, and debating hard whether or not it's worth the ten bucks. It looks cool, but at the same time a little shallow and busy work. Switch store desperately needs a return window like steam or something, I'd buy so many more games if they did
Are there any good updated reviews to say what has been addressed? The sale has my attention and if the game has improved, I’m buying it
@@AGAwesome this same channel did another look at the game after a big patch a few months ago, the changes about like police reporting when you do shit. I'm still on the fence but it's here on this channel

I was hoping they’d fix that issue with breaking into empty homes and still having cops show up since it kind of ruins the point of it but I can’t find anything on that being done yet.
I've been playing a couple hours after work for the last few days. So far it's been fun, and the mechanics are good. The story is a little slow though. Definitely worth it with it being on sale this week.

I’m really enjoying this game , it’s like a cross between gta and a game I used to play called chicago 90 .
I really enjoyed this game, a steal for the price, hopefully the devs will bring out more maps or missions in the future because its got huge potential. Most annoying thing for me was that randomly during gameplay money i found in houses or on the floor wouldnt add onto my cash total when picked up, so im losing tons of money. Crashed a couple times too but no progress lost. Overall 7 out of 10 from me

I got it for $2 and I've played for about an hour or so. So far it seems like a really fun game for the price.

It’s absolutely worth that no matter what state it’s currently in. It was never a “bad” game anyways, I’d say go for it!!

Cool :) I guess it depends how much the things I pointed out will annoy you (like they did me), but perhaps others wont find it so bad. I just thought for the asking price, it was worth pointing out!

I have this on Steam and so knew how good it was and picked it up on Switch before seeing your review. I agree with some point but overall this is a great game and looks amazing on the switch. It looks better on pc yes but to have this hand held too is worth it. The game is more working on your stealth and you know how long the police are taking to come so get out. I do agree they can turn up fast but it is possible to escape. I thought you score was very harsh, it's a game not a movie so you do want more than 2 hours gameplay which is the length of a average movie. I would score this more a 8 out of 10.

I saw it was on sale for 3.99 and was thinking about getting it. Went to bed and it was back to 19.99. It just doesn't seem worth 20 bucks to me.

Love this game bought it upon release and play it as often as I can I do hope there is a second from fallen tree games and curve digital in the future a slightly harsh score 5.5 I would put it at a solid 10 one of the best games I’ve played in all my years gaming so much fun.

Gus Grime absolutely, everyone has different opinions and I honestly don’t think it will take too much to fix some of the issues here which could absolutely alter my score to something around a 7 I’d say depending on what is fixed. Developer is working on patches so I will happily revisit this for an update as I’ve done with other games on my channel!

Yes very much like china town wars. I liked china town way better for sure. I downloaded this game was just like you, terrible driving controls, police come after you for little reason to. Great review!! Thanks

I think the police could be easily fixed in a patch. I had a similar issue with Shakedown too - where touching a police car would make you America's Most Wanted, but its not as bad as this where hitting any car has the police hunting you down. Really the biggest fix needs to be when you break into a house and before stepping foot in, a police notice is issued and you have X seconds to get in and out. Just doesn't seem realistic at all and as I said, makes being stealthy pretty pointless. You may as well crash in grab what you can and make a run for it!

Just got it for the switch. The frame rate is pretty bad while docked but in handheld it’s pretty fine. It took me a bit to get used to but now that I have I like it quite a bit. Getting wanted is too easy but it’s also very easy to hide. You can kill someone and take their clothes or hide and you should be fine. Burglarizing homes is awesome too. I’m having a lot of fun getting in shootouts and running over everything. Oh and the graphics are really damn good. Tons of detail. They do need to fix the frame rate and I’ve had the game crash on me twice so far but overall the game is fun

The problems you have with the game make the game fun and I love it.. Make some more of a challenge
This looks such a good game but the cons to the game from this review has put me off.

Do you have to follow a story in this game or you can just steal and drive cars just like in GTA?
Bit of both really, but more of a focus on following a story. There aren't many side missions and the ones there are aren't very exciting so not like GTA that has loads of different activities and secrets no.

Because in GTA it does not matter if you play the story or not you can also make one of the stories to steal cars and drive around and everywhere you can break that in this game too or is it all about the story?
ANBOXING Vorstellungs TECHNIKER Yea you can do that to a degree, there just isn't as much to do though. There are jumps to find and finding/jumping them all is a challenge. There's also hidden races to find, a few little things like that.
I’m playing on PS4 I’m enjoying it but the framerate at times really chugs along. Couple patches maybe hope it can be fixed

SwitchedOn yea you get little slowdown at times especially when being chased by police or explosions. Totally agreed with you about the rozzers showing up too easily when breaking into homes and trailers it really does make stealth pointless when looting

Hmm maybe. I can't get passed the bad ai as I mention in the vid, but they may patch it in time - though they've never said they would change the ai specifically.

Yea very much like the old school GTA. Defo worth a pick up if on sale especially since it’s been patched since launch.

What completely turned me off about this game was there was no mini map. It looks like GTA 2 which is amazing. But no mini map? C’mon man. I’ll pass.

Its a bad copy of hatred..but that game is to violent for most of u guys.. This g e is really only 1,3gb. 2:50 they did not bother to make the roof invisible when you walk in
No! The whole inside bit feels a bit 'cheap' really - with the game changing to a 'static' mode.

Pointless missions? Name me one open world game that doesn't have them. That's a ridiculous negative.
I mean in the context of the story. You are a fugitive on the run for murder, but quite happy to forgo both re-capture and finding the real culprit to go and pick up a dress for somebody. Just... weird.

@@SwitchedOn No not yet. It just crashed again, will try rebooting it. Although this time I was able to play for about 2 hours.
Edit... Didn't work, game crashed in a few minutes after restarting the system
Wow thats really odd. Have you got it installed on SD card or internal? Could be a corrupted install? I can't recall it crashing once for me.
@@SwitchedOn I had it on SD then moved it to internal and redownloaded it, still crashing. I've read a few comments online about a few others having the same issue and bad frame rate while driving fast. Hopefully they'll update it with a fix soon

Yea pretty much. Some are cool - like one early on has you fetching a car and then putting it in a crusher, that was fun. But still in essence "go to X, bring back Y"

You should be a bit smarter with gaming! In reality the cops would be as aggressive, if you never switch, or put a new color on the car and always run around in the same clothes... Common! The game is great! Its so cool to find smart ways to get keys, codes or the right clothes to remain unseen! Sorry, but your review is not really worthy...

Ah yea I remember that! Glad you enjoying, there is lots in this one to like for all the bits that annoyed me. I’m looking forward to seeing if the devs change things I didn’t like as I’d love to try it once patched.
