- Hercules: A Muse-ical was a show on Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wonder ship. It is a "Vaudevillian salute" to the 1997 Disney film, and features some of its songs. Rotoscopers explains: "Not taking itself seriously for a moment, Hercules‘ sea voyage was practically half musical, half stand-up comedy. Hades, Pain, and Panic (the latter two both portrayed by women) especially packed a humorous punch, infusing relevant pop-culture references into the script. They often changed to keep up with current trends, much like Genie’s jokes in Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular, still performing at Disney California Adventure."

I would love to see Disney do a Broadway musical of Hercules.
Not only that, but I of a few good ways to slightly alter the storyline.
1.) Instead of Hercules accidentally punching Phil like in the movie, Phil sees Hercules lose his power because of Hades' deal, and beats himself up because he was too late.
2.) When Hercules beats the cyclopes using brains instead of brawn, he looks back at the pillar and lifts it with his strength returning. Meg doesn't die with this interpretation like in the movie, but could instead be stolen by Hades, giving Hercules a choice by Hades, to either save Meg from falling off Mt. Olympus, or to save his father, Zeus from suffocating in lava which turns into stone. The choice leading to Hercules saving Meg by charging into Hades' carriage with Pegasus and swinging his sword at the molten rock to cut a hole for Zeus, who then has Pain and Panic locked for eternity with Hades, who has fallen into the ocean, where Poseidon resides.
3.) At the end of Act 2, Hercules still remains immortal even after accepting that he belongs in Athens.
Also, to end Act 1, the Muses not only sing "Zero to Hero" but also say to the audience, "But that was just the beginning. Stay tuned after this intermission to find out what happens next". As far as that, I was thinking that Meg's deleted song could also be used somewhere.
I would watch that show... Hercules would translate on Broadway better than The Little Mermaid.

If they put Hercules in its entirety as a Broadway Musical, Casey Nicholaw needs to direct and choreograph. He is well known for some hillarious smash hits on Broadway right now like Book of Mormon, Something Rotten, and another Disney hit Aladdin.

I like how Hades was the pre-Genie comedic entertainment of this production. They should show this musical again!
It was good. I liked it. But that was a very tough crowd... I didn't hear anyone laugh or hardly clap.
People in the 90s were hard to impress because the Quality of Disney was so High. The 90s was Legit Disney. The 2000s is the land of the Soulless live action Disney remakes.
He sounds like the real Hercules in the film.

An FYI. She's not in this recording but an alumni of this production on the Disney Magic later went on to American Idol, where she was a finalist, then to win an Academy Award.
You might of heard of her. You see, for a year, Jennifer Hudson was one of the Muses.
With the news of a new live-action Hercules, this should be retitled as "The real Hercules live-action movie"!

The play was good though the one that played Meg didn't get much of a part in it, and there was no kiss scene in the ending just like in the movie was, but it was good though. Why they didn't add Pegasuses in it?

I liked it but I don't know why they had regular story line going as usual, and then they just skipped past the climax. That's the most exciting/emotional part of a story and we anticipate it. To just blow past it had me a little confused and I honestly felt a bit cheated of the entertainment lol
