To the cast members of this amazing production of The Wizard of Oz I commend you... AWESOME JOB! i've performed in numerous musicals during high school and college, It's hard, dedicated work. But you guys really did an exceptional job. Set design, costumes, and special FX were EXCELLENT! I came upon this video while searching for something and ended up watching the entire performance. I WAS ELATED. The ad-libs were GREAT! All the cast ans crew did a wonderful job. But I must say... the animals stole the show. That's Toto, the COW on a stick and of course, the LION.(HILARIOUS) Thanks, you made my night!
That was a great production! Dorothy's voice sounds like out of an old movie and that's the chillest little dog in the world. It was just like, "okay, I guess this is happening now" no matter what crazy thing was happening.
I really like the Wizard/Marvel in this production. Frank Morgan, in the movie, was able to play the Wizard as a mid-western grandfather type with carnival sideshow con-man skills built up on the surface level. When I played the part, I was the right age to take that path. Younger actors tend to create shallow and superficial Wizards. This younger than a grandfather Wizard really did create a believable character. His Professor Marvel flowed seamlessly into a very real Wizard. Thumbs up for the actor playing the Wizard.
In the film, Frank Morgan played more than Prof. Marvel and the Wizard. He was the guy at the door, the guy driving the horse that changed color, and the guard (The Wizard says go away!) as well.
@@sha11235 True, he was able to do that in the movie. In the play scripts, they don't ask quite as much of the actor, sending those other parts to Uncle Henry or the ensemble. If all of those characters were combined in the play, the costume changes/makeup issues would create backstage chaos.

It is to all those who brought to life one of, if not the most famous film of all, a tale that led us on a journey over the rainbow and gave a beautiful new meaning to 5 simple words, that this play is respectfully dedicated! As we watch, let us take precious moments to cherish the memories of not just the film makers, the composers and lyric writers of the music and songs, and the director, but the actors and actresses who gave life to the incredible characters!

Hello I love this video 👰🏻🤵🏻
Olasumbo Adebayo ;-;
this is my dream community theater
I am doing this play at school and I got Dorothy!!!!
Jordan Jane good luck!!!
You’re gonna be great :)!!!
What school
Jordan Jane I almost got the role of Dorothy it was narrowed down to 3 people but I’m the cowardly lion in my production. Well done to you though
I did my play already I was auntie em
SìĐė /_\ SÖúŁ I hope you cast him just remember to make your bottom lip tremble a lot and pretend to fiddle with a tail and have knobbly knees. We didn’t even get to preform because of the corona iris we would have been performing next Wednesday
You all did an outstanding job. I watched to the end!
Was this a school musical? So impressive and I love all the singing and acting of this classic story/movie❤❤
Love this ,she is playing the role just like Judy Garland did in the movie.
auditioning for dorothy on monday! very excited to be in this production!!
Howd you do??
Did you get the part?
@@TheatreLover-c3r i did not!! the show ended up being absolutely horrible though so i really wasn’t too hurt 😭
@@spork9777 oh I’m really sorry.
I'm kinda depressed. I miss Judy Garland :(
edit (22/12/20) :
TF WHEN DID I COMMENTED THIS LMAO
Phoenix ikr
Awww. She was such a great actress and she was also gay!
Luna the Therian wait girls can’t be gay.....
Luna the Therian Judy Garland was not gay. She was into men and only men. Her father was gay, though. Which is why she was so accepting of the gay community. And why they adored her.
@@LunaStarlight35 uh gay? wha-
I know I am here late but I have a pleasure to say that I was in this show! I was a munchkin school teacher and this was an experience I won’t forget!
I played the wicked witch of the west best part I ever played at my school
Hi internet stranger! I’m hoping to try out for the Witch... do you have have any tips? Thanks
I was casted as scarecrow in my school's production!!!! It's not the role I went for but I think it's perfect for me, so excited to flail around the stage and dance with Dorothy. The scarecrow in this show is PHENOMENAL!!! Super true to the character in the movie and so expressive, plus the voice is *chef's kiss* mwah. I'm so excited, and hopefully I do this scarecrow justice!!!

Glinda: then close your eyes and ........and think to yourself there's no place like home
I'm planning to watch wicked soon and someone told me i would appreciate it more if i watch a wizard of oz production. This is the first one i found and I'm loving it ❤
I hope my school does this! Dorothy is like, my dream role. I know I won’t get her, but I still want to audition if we do Wizard of Oz
Oh my- I thought I was the only one!! Glad to know I’m not alone! My grandad introduced me to The Wizard Of Oz, and he built up my love for it. So I want so badly to play Dorothy. :)
Hope you get there, if you wanna do something before it too late! Try and do it on time! It is good to try something, I got the role Dorothy once for a short play, it was easy! (Crap 3 years late sorry but advice for the future i guess)
