in hindsight after my first playthrough, alice shows SO many signs of being an android, such as how she never eats throughout the journey! kara mentions that she has not eaten since they left todd’s house when they arrive at rose’s house, and my mind was BLOWN when i realises
+ the way theres never any mention of a missing human girl after kara kills todd? idk i might be wrong ive never played ive only seen jett play it but i was always so sus bc they never mention alice in the news, i thought it would come up at some point that kara kidnapped a human girl
To help with confusion. Connor doesn't physically go anywhere to talk to Amanda. It's all in his "head". The garden and Amanda are just a program he interacts with, like when he is in the Elevator and tells Hank he was just making a report. He was talking with Amanda.

@@arcadian0072 I got perfect kara ending on my genuine playthrough and had Connor decimate Markus' movement. It was a shame that Connor was replaced, but he did his job to server humanity and Kara was never a threat to humanity really.
Alice saying “I love you, mom” to Kara when they were shutting down was devastating lol. Although, pretty much every ending has sum poetic dignity. For example, the old one with the boat is more of a beautiful tragedy than just killing off main characters. I don’t mind that ending cuz it’s sad but so well written

Your playthrough was my first exposure to this game entirely, and my lord what a treat it has been. Whenever you made a decision and said "I didn't know that was gonna happen", I had the same shock. It's easy for folks who have played the game to throw out "obviously..." or "how could you not know...", but this game shows that you don't always know the outcome of a decision you're gonna make, regardless of intentions. Connor in a conversation with frank (in which he was pointing a gun at him) confesses that they test him regularly to make sure he is focused on his mission without being corrupted. In conclusion, all of connor's scenes with amanda went over connor's head and that scenario was never real.

I keep thinking of what you said about how babies are like blank canvases, and how androids are similar. Most deviants do behave in a naive childlike way, young minds untouched by the cynicism of reality. I love that crass mouthed, depressive, kindhearted Hank was the one to paint on Connor’s canvas. I feel like Connor’s empathy was 10000% nurtured by Hank’s. You can see his influence in Connor. Connor’s no-nonsense personality really was a surprisingly powerful mesh with Hank’s LOL

A little anecdote about your question if Leo is on drugs or went to rehab - if you had pushed Leo, Carl would've survived and you would've visited him in this chapter instead. In Carl's house you can listen to a voicemail from Leo where he says he's about to leave hospital the next day. He wants to quit drugs because he hates the person he became because of it. Leo also heard from the nurses that while he was unconcious, Carl was there with him the entire time. Leo asks if Carl has time to meet up the next day and says he is proud to be his son. He really sounds genuine and remorseful through the voicemail, so I think at least in that timeline he got his wake up call

Picking between violent revolution and peaceful protest has its different benefits in this game. Being peaceful is the only way to get the achievement to have every important named character survive while also being the most emotionally satisfying ending. But in my opinion and for those that enjoy the intense quick events, the violent path is more fun and where you can full experience badass connor and markus.
I just love it when Jett redoes a part of the game to get the ending he wants. When someone played and made a bad decision I would get annoyed, but this guy just says "I don't care" and redoes it to get the ending he wants.
Now that it’s over I gotta say something, especially considering you almost killed Connor with Markus. The idea of the game is that you choose what you actually wanna choose and live with the consequences instead of thinking about everything you do. That would be overthinking and on this game you gotta run on instinct. That’s just in case you want to replay any levels. Like if you want to trust Connor, trust him, don’t think about why it says not to trust him🤙 In the end it was the most exciting and funny play through of this game I’ve ever seen, you don’t always see a lot of people get so emotional about a game and it’s good to know you play every game like this.
Because of the new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that has just came out. I think this is the best time for you to jump into Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the part 1 of the trilogy. Amazing story, great characters, romance, hack and slash combat you said you like in a game. Im truly, at this point, begging you to play it. You will not be disappointed.

He knows Conner is deadly and most likely won’t miss his shot so trying to make him switch was the only reasonable thing to do.
Jett's reaction to Kara and Alice is valid. Did the same thing on my first playthrough, realised they wouldn't survive, and couldn't deal with Chloe calling me out. Went back and redid the mission so that they'd all be okay. Loved this playthrough.

The "no doubt" dialogue option when talking to Hank is the most poorly telegraphed one in the entire game. I've seen every single person play this game choose that option thinking they were agreeing with Hank
So crazy that everything at the end was literally exactly how my first playthrough ended. Except Luther was there during the boat chase and Todd was still alive to make amends, but Simon was also dead in mine and I had the same Connor and Markus ending.

i feel like the only reason they implemented that twist was so they could have the camp scene when kara and alice get captured and really lean into the emotional aspect of it. if alice was human she'd probs just be absent and the death scene w kara dying alone or w luther would be less impactful. i do agree the twist was weak though. maybe wanted to show androids can feel familial love too???
Idk I think "human and androids need each other" was also in Connor and Hank's story. I think with Alice they were going for "how would you react if sb you knew and cared for turned out to be an android? Would that change your way of looking at him/her?"
Jettro, if you didn’t kill Todd, you could of had a chance of seeing him at the bus stop. At first he would be angry with Kara but with the right choice of dialogue he will forgive you and admit his faults and let you take Alice with you

Although it wasn't a happy ending by any means and I had to restart my game, but it was just so well-written and so much more emotional and heart-wrenching. Therefore, I truly loved the tragic ending as much as the happy one.
And for the recommendation, Beyond Two Souls is another great game from Quantic Dream that I'm sure you'll love, though after taking a break of course!😅

Wow this has been a wild fucking ride. I’ve never seen anyone give the tickets back, so I honestly enjoyed seeing where that went. Even though it was absolutely heart wrenching. I don’t mind that you redo shit because it’s a video game and doesn’t really matter that much in the grand scheme of things. I enjoyed this playthrough so much!!

I've actually never seen Kara go by boat instead. I don't blame you for retconning it, because that would've been a truly disheartening note to end on, but I appreciated seeing yet another path the story can take.

Agreed big time. What made watching his playthrough so enjoyable was seeing him connect with the character and the story on a deep emotional level. Jettro is obviously very emotionally intelligent and it just reminded me of how I felt when I first discovered the game.

I love that crass mouthed, depressive, kindhearted Hank was the one to paint on Connor’s canvas. I feel like Connor’s empathy was 10000% nurtured by Hank’s. You can see his influence in Connor. Connor’s no-nonsense personality really was a surprisingly powerful mesh with Hank’s LOL
This is by far the best playthrough of Detroit that I've ever seen. You are without a doubt the most entertaining content creator I've ever watched, and seeing you play a decision game was so great. Please do more at some point soon! Telltale games would be perfect!

Awesome episode Jet, that Jericho escape was something else lol. A little anecdote about your question if Leo is on drugs or went to rehab - if you had pushed Leo, Carl would've survived and you would've visited him in this chapter instead. In Carl's house you can listen to a voicemail from Leo where he says he's about to leave hospital the next day. He wants to quit drugs because he hates the person he became because of it. Leo also heard from the nurses that while he was unconcious, Carl was there with him the entire time. Leo asks if Carl has time to meet up the next day and says he is proud to be his son. He really sounds genuine and remorseful through the voicemail, so I think at least in that timeline he got his wake up call

Picking between violent revolution and peaceful protest has its different benefits in this game. Being peaceful is the only way to get the achievement to have every important named character survive while also being the most emotionally satisfying ending. But in my opinion and for those that enjoy the intense quick events, the violent path is more fun and where you can full experience badass connor and markus.
I just love it when Jett redoes a part of the game to get the ending he wants. When someone played and made a bad decision I would get annoyed, but this guy just says "I don't care" and redoes it to get the ending he wants.

The idea of the game is that you choose what you actually wanna choose and live with the consequences instead of thinking about everything you do. That would be overthinking and on this game you gotta run on instinct. That’s just in case you want to replay any levels. Like if you want to trust Connor, trust him, don’t think about why it says not to trust him🤙
In the end it was the most exciting and funny play through of this game I’ve ever seen, you don’t always see a lot of people get so emotional about a game and it’s good to know you play every game like this.

bro it was VERY in character for Markus to shoot Connor 😭😭 for all he knows, Connor still works for cyberlife but put on a fake facade to get in the circle of markus. shooting connor would prevent anymore mess ups in the future for him. (markus’ pov btw)

@@ghostlygeralt1996 it doesn’t matter what route you take even if you go aggressive, it’s still the same cutscene. Plus that’s the smartest thing you can do in That situation. He knows Conner is deadly and most likely won’t miss his shot so trying to make him switch was the only reasonable thing to do.

Jett's reaction to Kara and Alice is valid. Did the same thing on my first playthrough, realised they wouldn't survive, and couldn't deal with Chloe calling me out. Went back and redid the mission so that they'd all be okay. Loved this playthrough.

The "no doubt" dialogue option when talking to Hank is the most poorly telegraphed one in the entire game. I've seen every single person play this game choose that option thinking they were agreeing with Hank
So crazy that everything at the end was literally exactly how my first playthrough ended. Except Luther was there during the boat chase and Todd was still alive to make amends, but Simon was also dead in mine and I had the same Connor and Markus ending.
29:00 you remember the magazine Kara dropped in Todd’s house? That magazine was blurred but showed an android with Alice’s face!
There are occasions where the immediate effect of a dialogue option isn't made clear. No shame in reloading in those instances imo.
The fact Alice said "i love you, mom." As she passed away in Kara's arms in the alternate T.V.A timeline actually broke me 😭

Curious on anyones opinions of the Alice twist at 24:33. Personally feel like that makes the story on some level pointless. Really ruins the whole humans and robots need each other angle.
i feel like the only reason they implemented that twist was so they could have the camp scene when kara and alice get captured and really lean into the emotional aspect of it. if alice was human she'd probs just be absent and the death scene w kara dying alone or w luther would be less impactful. i do agree the twist was weak though. maybe wanted to show androids can feel familial love too???

Jettro, if you didn’t kill Todd, you could of had a chance of seeing him at the bus stop. At first he would be angry with Kara but with the right choice of dialogue he will forgive you and admit his faults and let you take Alice with you
It's amazing how much he thinks the game is trying to tell him the right answer. It doesn't choose the right answer for you, it doesn't highlight the right answer. It's just aesthetic design, don't let it get in your head bro
I know I'm 3 weeks late, but I am so happy with this playthrough! A lot of Lets Players prioritize being funny over playing the game and paying attention, and I love that you did the former! Gained a fan, and I cannot wait for you to continue to excel!

You know what I have a fun Story based game with funny dialogue. Its called Tales from the Borderlands. Its a telltale game that tells a story outside of the events of Borderlands. Seriously this game was so funny and the characters are very endearing bro, highly recommend it
