- "...for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." -Matthew 17:20
Clarios and Optima Batteries sent us all the way to the Pikes Peak Hillclimb 2024 to witness one of the oldest races in all of automotive history. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and the video does NOT do the mountain road justice.

Looks like fun
I would pay to see marge take it in the wagon.😅
I blelieve you had one of the best spots to view and video from. Great coverage of an all time favorite of mine!
Just FYI Dylan! You have to come to the Adirondacks in New York and visit Whiteface Mountain ( with the original North Pole and Santa’s workshop est. 1948, America’s first theme park!) and drive up Whiteface, take the elevator the rest of the way to the summit! There you can see a panoramic view of the mountains and see the 1932 and 1980 Olympic venues near lake Placid!
New drinking game-Everytime Dylan says " BIG OL WANG"... I'm out.
I was just there in the beginning of September, drove to the top with my daughter. You had much better weather than we did! It was cloudy, foggy, snowy and 36 degrees at the top on our day there. Nevertheless, it was an awesome experience. I would love to go during a race!
Thanks for all the insight, & views! Been interested about the racing since the Users were young open wheels stars, lol!
Thanx !
Being up there is breathtaking, they say, on a clear day, you can see into 5 different states.
Awesome road race up the mountain!😁
I remember watching Gas Monkey Garage when Aaron Kaufman climbed pikes peak in a Ford Falcon that he built.
Been there....in 1980....I was 10. Obviously I did not race but I have family in Cripple Creek! Old mining family! One of the old cabins my Great Great Uncle had was still there and abandoned. I found letters from my Grandma to her cousin in and around the cabin from the 1930s! I still have them and I have a wooden towel bar from the cabin!
Been to the top... Windy AF up there for sure. So happy for you to get this kind of opportunity!
I’ve been to the top with my family in about 1970 or thereabouts when I was just a little lad. Dad drove the family VW bus and it was a bit of a struggle for that little air cooled flat four filled with a family of 5 and our camping gear.
Optima batteries are the best!😊
Fascinating video. Id love to attend one year ❤
I drove a 85 Celica GT up that mountain in 1988, it was gravel and scary as hell!
My mountain, America’s mountain , it’s a beautiful site to see every day
well shared !
Last week we drove up klingmans dome in Tennessee
We then hiked up .5 Miles to the top 20 degrees colder up there .i believe the elevation is 6200 feet
We need more footage!
Silent subscriber 👋… From what I understand only 7 people died in this race since the beginning. 4 were motorcycles, 1 was an official and 2 were cars getting into an accident during practice.
Aaron Kaufman from gas monkey garage ran that in a '60s falcon
Dang son I didn’t know you had another channel
Like so many other sports, it seems like big money, technology and sponsorships have taken the original spirt of the race and turned it into a commercial advertising event. The days of a hometown garage mechanic doing this race for the sport of it is long gone, buried by big corporate sponsors taking over what used to be a race of “because it’s there!” , with more sporting spirit and turned it into a money grab.
I would never do that. Not even at slow speed. Same reason i never drove up Mt Washington in New Hampshire.
Did you take Briar with you?
I lived near pikes peak
When are you going to post you getting rump running again?
Dylan other actual TV car shows have covered that certain mountains peak Run even monkey garage
I thought you would race
Did you actually shave and get sort of dressed up for this?
Real cars use gas not AA cells!
But you didn't actually race.... kinda disappointing..
