- How to Use AVADA KEDAVRA Early in Hogwarts Legacy
The unforgivable curse AVADA KEDAVRA is infamous in the Harry Potter franchise and it's also available to learn LATE in the main game of Hogwarts Legacy. It makes sense that the spell is only unlocked later in the campaign because it is SO overpowered, being capable of making any foe unalive with just one shot!
If you want to embrace your dark side early though, you CAN if you ordered the Deluxe Edition of Hogwarts Legacy. Those players get access to the Dark Arts Battle Arena as soon you're able to enter free roam and get around the Hogwarts map!
When you enter the Dark Arts arena, all 3 unforgivable spells - Crucio, Imperio and Avada Kedavra are ALL available to cast against waves of enemies! It's a brilliant way to use the spells EARLY, long before they're taught to you in the main quest line.
Completing the Dark Arts Arena (of it's your first battle arena) will also earn you an awesome cosmetic mask that goes perfectly with the sinister powers you've just wielded!
Hogwarts Legacy is hands-down going to be one of the games of the year in my opinion and is available now on XBOX Series X|S, Playstation 5 and PC. In April it'll be available on last generation consoles and then on Nintendo Switch in June 2023!

I messed up on the dialogue and had to pretty much restart my game to one broom upgrade point just to get the spell

@@Virrupi did the same but i had a save file just before going into the mission so i only missed out on around 15 minutes of play time
Avada Kedavra is cool, but the way how your character says “CRUCIO” while casting it is badass 😄

Personally, I'd use crucio more than avada kedavra because there are a lot more fun ways to kill people than instantly and painlessly
Funny how I can be worse than Voldemort and yet I’m still the hero of the story
If I’m not mistaken there’s a good, bad and some other endings so you could have been the villain to the end, maybe. In future games like this I’d love some hard consequence mechanics. Like if I’m out with a schoolmate and they see me use a forbidden curse they either wanna learn it or wanna report you, and from there you make your own decisions
after playing at least 40 hrs + there's nothing you could say to convince me your character is anywhere near Voldy lol. My b!tch a$$ is way too nice in between casting curses.

@ignismaniaco9935 there was originally supposed to some gauge or whatever to make you good or bad, but never got added into the final game

I use crucio all of the time, especially on the bigger enemies because they don't use their powers/hits on you while they're being tortured. You can take out the smaller enemies while they're under the crucio curse, and then focus on them when the smaller ones are finished. Or, you can use it to bring them down faster. I absolutely love using it ;) I own the deluxe version, but want to work for the AK cure. Almost there to unlock it!
I love using imperio on trolls and see them plow the others

ik im late but the talent for crucio is broken you can curse other enemies so you can hurt them all at once
Use this OP spell early (but only by paying more money and only on a trial basis in a very specific part of the game that has no impact on the main game)

It’s perfect for putting all points in Dark Arts so most of your common spells have the ability to curse, Imperio a troll, crucio some random dude, and avada kadavra that last one and everyone you’ve cursed with common casts and the other two unforgivables, boom.
That sounds like a good combo but have you tried using the Unforgivable III trait on all 6 pieces of fully upgraded gear that all add up to 450 Offence?
I swear this is every game, start with very little and when the journey is over you have everything, I NEED THAT SHIT DURING THE JOURNEY!! 😅
then dont leave the side quests until the end of the journey 😂 I did this quest and got to use avada kedavra for another 10 or so hours before I was done
Avada kadavra is unlocked after the loyalty quest near the end of the game. You also have to do all of Sebastian's quest line. And for the record, it doesn't one shot every enemy and it doesn't work on the final boss.
It makes sense because the game would have no challenge if it did the moment you unlocked it.
@@Zorant0Zero it's still very powerful and if you get the mastery skill, it will kill every enemy that is already cursed. I mostly use it on trolls or the giant spiders, but I did use it on a few infamous foes. Usually if it doesn't kill something, it will do a ton of damage, but during the final boss fight, it didn't seem to be doing much at all. It might've been my timing though. It also has a very long cool down compared to other spells (about 90 seconds) which is nice because you can't just spam it on everything and you have to strategize. I would use crucio with it's mastery to curse a ton of enemies, like in a bandit castle and then use avada kadavra to kill them and thin the herd.
I feel like it should’ve done some instance of damage at the least against immune enemies.

The only enemies I've found that it doesn't work as intended on are the two story main villains. One being that it only largely marginalized the fight and it just straight doesn't work on the final boss. Probably because he's no longer truly alive at that point.
Yeah I have the deluxe edition. Played in the dark arts arena quite early. When I was only level 8 or something a few hours into the game. Was very fun to test out
Any ALIVE enemy. I sat there for a while wondering why I couldn’t kill the Inferi until I realized they were already dead
Some goblins late game have magical armour that is immune to curses

Yes you can use all three in the arena, but you don't unlock them in game. It's a hard grind.

I did do this it was surprisingly fun once I put skills into the dark arts mainly crucio mastery and the one where killing a cursed target with avada kills other cursed I instantly swept that round
Have deluxe, Arena only gives you 4 spells, Avada Kerdava, Imperio, Crucio and Confringo. Used only Basic Cast, Ancient Magic Throw, Ancient Magic and Confringo, still won, key was Protego and high combo to spam Ancient Magic. (Main account was going to *learn* but never use the Unforgivable's, was a Slytherin too.)
I just got crucio in the game.

I bought the deluxe edition MONTHS ago and I have always wondered how to get to the dark arts battle arena 😭😂 I always thought it was an extra menu option I was missing so I actually found this video super helpful

I found it super super early without any help from a video or anything like that . I kind of just wandered into the stone thing and thought it was PVP or some shit idk but it was fun af to use.
You can also glitch into the room of requirement early too.
Pro tip to get the unforgiveables quicker:
Get deluxe edition and have fun in the arena and you’ll level up fast as hell. And then you go back to the story and just keep doing story quests and follow "In the shadow" questline with sebastian sallow

@@HURRIC4NEyt actually grinder the game out 15 hours straight and got 100% completed all quests, all chests, all scrolls, everything. Don’t be made you can only finish the main quest.

I did find it really early in the game, yes. If this spell existed in real life, human population wouldn’t be much more than 1000 around the globe
They should make a quest where you learn Abra kadabra and hocus pocus with a unlock trait for wala wall Washington.
Did you know you can also upgrade the magic to kill multiple enemies at once if you cast a curse on them. It becomes a chain kill.
You can upgrade certain spells like Arresto Momentum, expelliarmus and others to apply that cures status to help with that.

Yes you can. Was so fun to do. Just make sure your fully potioned up. Ooh and the thunder potion and endurance helps too
I really don’t get why creators keep throwing the word “evil” around for this game when being evil is the one thing you CANNOT be. The game strictly prohibits anything fun or evil from being done. Can’t even use the unforgivables outside of combat nor on any NPC. We might as well not have had them cause the recharge rate is too slow and you can’t use them all Willy-nilly. More often than not I find myself completely forgetting about them and just enjoying the normal spells cause we can actually use them to our disposal during a fight. I hope they add a “death eater” mode or something that renders EVERY NPC as attackable and speeds up the unforgivable cool-down.

@@SubParLover it’s not lol. Our character is more of an anti-hero, like dead pool lol. Starting fights at dark wizard camps already got boring. I’ve hit them all atleast 4 times each trying to feel “evil” but this game doesn’t allow that very much lol.
Because a 5th grader going around using unforgivable curses everywhere obviously wouldnt have the consequnces of immediatly being suspended and thrown into Azkaban by the teaching staff. They dont allow you to use them on NPCs because it would literally end the game right then and there, as everyone will fight you and you couldnt progress the story. The fact that you can use them at all is already a stretch, but they did it for fanservice.
@@lukeskywalker5392 your character starts as a 5th year. That means they’re more than likely 16 or around there. Voldemort was already unaliving people and creating his horcruxes at that age. It’s totally in lore. I guarantee there’s more lore of wizards being dark at a young age. But in terms of keeping things playable for everyone i guess I see why they did it. But I mean even Harry and Malfoy were throwing deadly spells at each other at that age too sooo.

It strikes me as akin to the specter office weapons in mass effect 3. You can theoretically pick them up prior to the priority - citadel level. If you do, they make that mission so much easier than it's supposed to be. At least, they do for me. I pick up the black widow rifle ASAP so I kinda have this "I kill you" boomstick with punch through

@@Zmargo702 Yea, but you have JUST enough credits to pick one up if you save every credit from the start of the game. So you're not really supposed to have it at that stage of the game

Weird. For me those spells weren’t available in there. Level 14 I think and I had to beat all the waves with incendio, leviosi etc. That was probably the hardest battle I had in the game.

I have that DLC. It doesnt give you the 3 curses. You still have to learn them. But if you are in Slytherin, you can learn them early through Sebastians side quest

I like to explore before I play the main missions in any open world game and so as I got my broom, I went exploring and this dungeon was one of the first things I did. Imagine my surprise at being able to use Avada Kedavra a few hours into the game. And it made the dungeon so damn easy.

It’s awsome because early game you can prepare to face different classes of enemy’s that you will face later, and you get to experience the effects of such strong spells

Ahhh to be able to play like that again. I bought the deluxe edition the moment I could preorder it. Playing through almost done, PlayStation fucked me over and refunded me the preorder. I lost all of the goodies I got, and can never fulfill all of the collections. I have never been more angry in my life.
