Love it when Henry shows his well deserved Emmy from the back door of his home. "I am, for all time, an Emmy winner." What a great interview, done from a safe social distance. Henry always seems like such a wonderful, genuine human being.
In 1974, I was an eight-year-old boy. He was my idol I wanted to be cool like him. Looking at him now, he's an amazing person. Thank you, Fonzie. Aaaaaay!👍
I was 6! But I religiously watched up until Chachi came on the scene. Or maybe it was when he "jumped the shark!". It was a fun time to watch a good show.
This Guy was My HERO back in the 70's ...in fact he was a HUGE influence on how I coped with grade school and all its variables as a skinny, sheltered, quiet kid ...Well...as it works out.....HE is STILL my HERO ! THANKS FONZ !👍🏻
The sweetness from this man is intoxicating. He is a balm to many of us, especially now that we're cooped up. Thank you to Tracy Smith for this lovely straight-from-the-heart interview.
Bobbie Cooper He loves to wear happy colors. Yellow and sometimes pink. If the want to really get to know then as unscripted people watch the series FOR BETTER OR WORSE.
Oh my goodness! I am in tears in the end of this interview when he was talking to all the kids about how when they are struggling with learning that this doesn't take away from how brilliant they are. I have to get these books he wrote for my son. He is in the 4th grade and struggling. He sometimes blurts out while working on homework " I'm just stupid mom. It's just too hard for me." Now that is hard to hear coming from a little boy at 8 and now he is 9yrs old. We are doing the "distance learning" now and he is REALLY struggling. The one bright light in his day is us reading together at night. I want him to understand his worth and that learning will become easier, he just can't give up. So these children's books sound like such a blessing to not only my son but so many other's little ones out there struggling....and ones who are not too! I have a 7yr old little girl that learning comes easy for. Which makes my son even more ashamed of himself that she "gets it" quicker than him. Parenting isn't easy and it really is made easier with tools like Henry Winkler's children's books! Now to go find the books! My son's birthday is coming up and this would be great to get him a new set of chapter books to read with him at night.
@Amy Sternheim Awwwe thank you for the encouraging words! I hadn't thought of it like that before. That the more he has to practice and work at it the more he will actually remember it! You are right about that for sure. Thanks!
UandMeGod Bless you and your family, Lift up that little man and encourage him every day and remind him he has his own Godgiven gifts, and that we are all are uniquely beautiful to The Father that knew us before He placed us inside our mother's wombs ! What a class act. I will always remember him as the Fonz. I know what he means about his disability. I have ADHD and it makes life very difficult at times. Im glad that learning disabilities are being talked about openly. When i was growing up, it was a stigma. you were taught to blend in and hide it. God bless him, hes earned every bit of his success!
I met him once at the live theater I worked at. He wanted to know where the restroom was but, he also asked about me and how my day/evening was going. He was so nice and, truly was listening to me blather about my boring day up to that point. Come on, I just met The Fonz! He said it was nice to meet and, I told him to enjoy the show and, have a great night. He really is that nice.

Henry Winkler is one of my hero's. I got a chance to meet while walking home from work NYC. He was very generous with his time. We talked briefly about dyslexia. I had written a semi-autobiographical play about my experiences being dyslexic and he was kind enough to allow me to send it to him via his manager.
I don't know how she did it!!! The need to rush up and give him a GREAT BIG HUG would have killed me!!! Just because he was so warm and kind!! What a heartthrob he still is!!! And that is all personality (and some good looks and charm!!). WE LOVE YOU HENRY!!! God Bless!!!
