  • How to select the right look for my classic car’s wheel combo is a tough call. I got a great deal on the Cragars but the American Racing wheels are just as iconic. Which one gives the Galaxie that street look?

In my opinion, you need to run 15" rims on that car with tall tires!! That whole 17" rim thing just ain't cutting it, especially on that classic car.

nah, just run some more side wall aspect height. Keep 17's on back, and use 15 on front. or if fat tire 15x12 on back with 17x7 or 8 in front. Or some big and wide 18's on the back and little 15's on front. Its Roddin'

Both are beautuful but The American Racing Torq Thrust 16x8 is absolutely the perfect wheel and also give place for a higher tire "50 series gives a much greater look from the side. Perfect !!!

Thank you for the input. You're right about the wide track it gives the car. Looks mean too!

Change your speedometer gear and use an inch taller tire on the bigger wheels. P275/60R17

I like the Torq Thrusts on the car. The more side wall looks better to me. I love the Cragar though.

It’s true, the wheels both offer a classic look. I will have a new set of wheels coming for the Galaxie soon!

I like the Cragar...it’s a chrome thing. These cars looked killer back in the day with the Cragars. The trend now is the larger wheels and low profile tires so the Cragars would keep with that...more current. The whole thing depends on what look you want...Chrome is good lol.

I never thought finding the right wheel combo was so hard. Even harder when 15’s are almost extinct.

You’re right, it’s a shame it’s so hard to find any beefy 16” tires.

I like Cragars, but not into the Conestoga wagon wheel look either. Torque Thrusts get my vote, only because older cars need some sidewall and a deeper wheel face. I'm that guy that runs 15" on everything..... so take that as it may be. Hahahaha

It is amazing how a set of torque thrust D wheels can make a shitty car look cool. Not talking about your car sir just a basic car in general.
