BTG NEWS! Been a bit quiet on here lately... I'm off on holiday for two weeks until early September and I've pre-recorded everything for Patreon (Madonna, Mariah, Whitney, Lana). That is all recorded and I should be able to upload them all at the right times while I'm away. Here's what I will post between now and the end of August on Patreon: MARIAH CAREY Got To Be Real - with Patti Labelle MADONNA I'M BREATHLESS - Full Album Reaction, Angels With Dirty Faces (demo) + Supernatural WHITNEY HOUSTON Home / Ain’t No Way - Merv Griffin Show 1983, The Greatest Love of All in tribute to Muhammad Ali on his 50th birthday LANA DEL REY Pink Champagne / Let Me Love You Like A Woman (Ultraviolence Demo), HONEYMOON - Full Album Reaction I have nothing else recorded so if I can post anything to RUclips in the last two weeks of August, it will be songs taken from those above, or stuff out of the Patreon archive. If you're not into those 4 artists, you'll have to wait til September for anything different sorry. This is going to be a strictly Mariah / Madonna / Whitney / Lana zone! Stay subscribed and check out my playlists. I'll be back with more variety I'm September! Thanks, Jonny x
She’s always got so much flack for not being a “good singer” but she’s the most fantastically emotive singer, especially on ballads. Her voice drips with aching on this. Just wonderful.
Even though this wasn’t a soundtrack, I always believed it deserved a Grammy, no other female artist I know, has ever effortlessly slipped into every musical genre and owned it.
I do remember reading from her biography penned by J. Randy Toborelli. It was written there that while they were having a party for "Dick Tracy" included Hollywood stars Warren Beatty his then boyfriend suddenly played this song in front of the guests and when the song finished Jack Nicholson looked at Madonna the beautiful young woman with a glass of champaigne in her hand, and tears in her eyes and he said "woww what a star!"
I agree so many Madonna songs that weren’t singles are better than the songs released as singles. How lucky I’ve been to grow up with Madonna from the 80s
My favourite song of hers (not a Sondheim one) off this album and always wanted it released but it was never "single" material, but then "Hanky Panky" was? Glad it gave title to Madonna's ballad collection along with the David Foster and Massive Attack tracks. I think it found its place there. I don't know know whether it was partly written about Christoper Flynn (I think some of the Erotica ones may have been) or someone like that, but I always got that impression. She took major singing lessons before doing the Dick Tracy songs because it's Sondheim and her first reaction was "I can't sing those songs". But they worked through them and instead of doing a simple "soundtrack" (with just music from the film, a la "Who's That Girl?") she put together this hybrid album, with "Vogue" tagged on to the end (because there was nowhere else to put it). She really promoted the sh't out of Dick Tracy, adopting a new look, this album, and dedicating a section on the Blonde Ambition Tour. I remember seeing both Dick Tracy and the Blonde Ambition concert in the same week but was probably too young to properly appreciate either of them fully, until much later.
I feel like only recently has this “I’m Breathless “ collection been getting any attention. Amazing vocals and period inspired but updated for the 90’s era. She’s done it all.
Love this album!! I always consider this a studio album instead of a soundtrack, since most songs weren’t in the movie and M co-wrote all but 3 songs. The album is probably in my top 5. Great reaction!
I remember one night, it was probably 1991, i turned up radio Sol Fm here in Chile, i knew about madonna, but wasnt a fan, and this song was just beginning to play, and it felt like i had to pay attention, it sounded so beautiful, i was just a kid, i sat down, listening to it, and by the time the chorus started, i was crying my eyes out, it was so sad and beautiful, and my own life with my parents at that time was horrible, so that didnt help, but this song made me let out so much of my own sadness, and i couldnt believe that it was a madonna song. I can still remember that skinny gay kid, trying desperately to hide the tears, listening to this song. It was a terrible time to be different in those days, its a part of my life that ive always prefered to keep buried. And later in time, i realized that she sided with people like us, and she kept giving us hope through her music durind all those years.
Great vocal album for Madonna, Back to Bussiness, He's a man are such a gems. Shoo-bee-doo song from Like a Virgin album has a similar jazzy-motown sound. Madonna is great.
What an underrated album. "I'm Breathless" is a fantastic album, and for me so much better than "American Life" album. My favourite song is the duet "What can you lose"with Mandy Patinkin. Cheers❤
I think my favorite song on this album is What Can You Lose. I love More because it’s so fun and very Sondheim-y. Also this seems very pre-cursor to In This Life from Erotica.
One of my best track from her 1995 recompilation album called too Something to Remember. Btw you should react to Love don't live here anymore Remix album version (1995). 😊
I love that she did an album in this flavor without doing a single cover/standard. I always felt that albums of standards were the death knell for a musical career with maybe the acception of Natalie Cole Unforgettable and Harry Connick Jr who built his career on standards.

This album is a masterpiece. Her voice is so perfect for this jazzy style.
She’s always got so much flack for not being a “good singer” but she’s the most fantastically emotive singer, especially on ballads. Her voice drips with aching on this. Just wonderful.
If Madonna is not a good singer wonder who is. She is amazing.
Perfect song for a smokey jazz club at 2 in the morning...
Madonna literally is the blueprint for eras and reinventions. She is a chameleon
Madonna sings with heart
Even though this wasn’t a soundtrack, I always believed it deserved a Grammy, no other female artist I know, has ever effortlessly slipped into every musical genre and owned it.
2 of the Sondheim songs were nominated for Grammy's from this album in 1991
Should have been a single!

Top 5 M album for me....vocally its sophisticated but still with a bit of grit from her early days...jazzy and such a mood piece...perfect movie too
Beautiful song. Should have been a single.
Was this not a single?! That's a crazy decision
@@bridgethegapreactions sadly it wasn’t. You’ll find many hidden gems buried in her albums that were single worthy on your Madonna journey.

I always thought it was partly about Christopher Flynn.
I was not woman/you said love yourself. 😢😢

Magic song, I've always said that Madonna played my soundtrack life and still do it
Listening to this song in the context of the Something to Remember album is another level!

One of my all-time favorite Madonna songs.
The day has come, and finally, you've reacted to this song, which I've mentioned in previous comments. Have a wonderful Holiday! Celebrate....
This should've been the album's second single.
I love when she says “ what a joke” so seriously and sadly.
When I tell you I’m OBSESSED with this song!
