    thanks for the video! i just got my CreamI - can you do this without any sweetener? like just use vanilla syrup, cream and the coffee? or is sugar or monkfruit necessary for the consistency?

      Nope... you can do it without the sweetener, no problem. The syrup with probably actually make better texture.

    @JoesPhenomenal can you use the standard creami on milkshake mode? Whilst using this recipe?

    • @JoesPhenomenal

      Yes. That should work fine. The consistency will be a tiny bit more stiff, but I think it will still be really nice.

  • @surrealchemist
    @surrealchemist Год назад +2

    Do you think you can still make this with one of the settings on the standard Creami? The guides are missing on the container but if you get close to the right ratio and have a compatible setting I don’t know if it does anything special in that mode.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад +4

      Heya, Joshua. I think the milkshake setting on the original should be able to get pretty close. Keep in mind that the Creami Pints are smaller on that, so the recipe would need to be scaled down by 1/3.

      If you wanna keep the carbs down, you cna use any of the ultra pasteurized milks. So there's the Kroger carbmaster, rebel, and fairlife. Those are the 3 I've used, but there's other ones too.

    I have tried making a Creamiccino twice now in mine, and both times it overflowed and made a big mess that I had to clean up. This is in spite of my having followed the directions exactly and not overfilling the pint. The only thing I can think of is that the coffee added before processing needs to be hot coffee and not chilled. Another RUclips video demo of making a Creamiccino shows the same overflowing mess that mine made. I'm going to try it next time with hot coffee before processing. You mention that "bad things happen" if you fill past the drinkable line. Did you do this and have it overflow? Mine overflows even when it is filled at or below the drinkable line. I'm not very impressed.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hmmmm. That's weird. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this. When I did that recipe for the video, I used room temperature coffee. If you use hot, I would think it would melt the frozen stuff too much. If it's overflowing like that, it means that it's expanding too much when it processes and thickens. When I did the original frozen base, I used warm coffee, but that was to make sure the sweetener disolved fully before I froze it up. When you made your frozen base, how far did you fill the pint? You don't want to go up to the drinkable max line, you want to be way below that at the freeze fill line. That's about half way up the cup. When it gets frozen up the next day, I added a little more cold coffee on top to just below the pour-in line to process it. You should still about about the top 20% or so of the container empty at the point it goes into the creami. You can see in the video that even though I did that, it still came right up to the top anyway, so I still almost overfilled too.... If I did, I think I would have had that same kind of mess. Hope that helps ya.

      @@JoesPhenomenal Thank you for your thorough response. The recipe I am following is the one included in the Creami Deluxe manual/guide. Both times that it leaked, I filled to the correct lines, used hot coffee only to dissolve sugar, and then used cold coffee for the processing phase. I have tried it once since then, and before processing I added only a small amount of the cold coffee, then added the rest during an additional re-spin phase. It still leaked but to a lesser degree. I also think that 1/3 cup sugar is too much, so I am going to reduce that to 1/4 cup and use even less half-and-half. At this point I am at a loss as to why the thing leaks when following the directions for a drinkable-filling to correct lines. I got it at Costco, so at least I can easily return it if it continues to leak when using the drinkable setting.

      If you're doing it in a Creami Deluxe, the machine even has a setting to process half of the pint and leave the rest frozen. I've had good results with that. I've reprocessed stuff in the original, and it still seems to come out OK reprocessing, too... Just not quite as smooth.

      On the original, I would try using the smoothie bowl button for that. Also, you can use the lite ice cream button, and when it gets done, add a couple of tablespoons of cold coffee into it, and do a respin. That should get it pretty close.

    That doesn't look healthy with monkfruit and zero sugar chocolate

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Год назад +5

      The monkfruit sweetener really isn't a big problem. It's derived from real sugar sources like Stevia is, so it's not really "artificial". With the zero sugar chocolate sauce that's in there, I didn't put much in there, but I agree with ya on that.. There's a lot that goes into making that sort of thing sugarless, including a lot of fat (kind of like in protein bars). As a whole, something like this shouldn't be considered health food, but more as a better alternative to something similar from Starbucks or the other big coffee shops where something like this would top 700 calories and 50 grams of sugar. Either way, for sure not something that you should just be drinking every day regardless of what your goals are.
