I agree with you Randy on how to fish a laydown and hitting the sweet spot first. I do that almost all the time if not every time. My experience has been the more casts you make the less likely you'll get bit.

Hey randy keep up the fishin tips and strategys an fightin the good traditional bass fishing fight happy holidays So how do you position yer boat to the laydown on yer first cast I usually go straight on so my lures comein on either side of the trunk over the v's in the limbs draw a bite from bass usein the trunk for cover an if flipn an goin for the hogs 'heart' of the laydown then either side comein down within strike zone of limbs but I have heard to start outside an work yer way in also maybe for more fish? Not necessarily big fish that are more susceptible to pressure an casts first casts yer most likely big fish right ? In most cases unless tough bite an takes multiple casts the one sport where total opposite techniques will work

Thumbnail implies he’s on the water. Nope. In his truck waiting to pick up the kids. 😂I’m out.

I don’t think it matters personally. I’d be so unfocused on the water, I wouldn’t be able to drop any quality knowledge. But that’s me.
