This, in my understanding, sends the visual messages via the optic nerve to the brain and the mind assimilated accordingly in that you can experience that you are safe...and, regularity in flying is important for experiences, then you become aware of what is taking place and almost become desensitised to it all. There are also experiential course to reinforce this, yes there is a cost I think but we'll worth it I'd it helps your anxiety...Good luck!
I remember I was at heathrow walking behind the runway and I didn't even notice a boeing 787 taking off next to me. I knew it was there but I just didn't see it take off. Then whe I turned around again it was already taking off.
If you sit in the rear, you don't hear the engine rattling except sitting in the front. Like I was in the Jetstar a320 when I was walking from my seat to the front bathroom and I jest heard the rattling noise of the jet engines

Very good experience. Quiet flight, especially important on long segments. I was amazed how quiet it was at door 1. But it is the cabin service that matters a lot! Enjoy your trip.

No, I disagree, the sound of all 4 engines on an A380, spooling up as it starts the takeoff run, is much better than slowing down!
