Precisely the thought that struck me as I gazed down upon the Alps from 30,000 ft on a flight to Rome. Just how improbable was it, for me to be born at precisely this point in the long history of this planet, in this particular galaxy, so that I could experience the surreal joy of air travel?
It's quite noisy but it's nice to hear that the Trent XWB still has a touch of that growl followed by a high-pitched scream and buzzsaw sound on take off that we came to love from the RB211s on 757s.
Extra points of interest 1. The queue of aircraft behind the subject. 2. The other aircraft landing while subject aircraft is approaching V1 and rotate. 3. The shadow on the ground of the subject aircraft. 4. The sheer number of aircraft parked around the terminals. 5. The turn and take-off. 6. The engine roar.
I love to see these videos taken within the cabin of large passenger jets. It saves me having to be in one. I used to love flying. In latter years I`ve given away the chances I`ve had in having European holidays paid for me - and being given spending money whilst somewhere abouts the Mediterranian coast. If I was on that plane now and some passenger close to me asked, " have we far to go," after a minute from take - off I`d likely reply, " no - a matter of a few hundred meters or so, that`s all ...." That`s how scared I`ve become of flying.
In my experience the A350 is the 2nd most comfortable aircraft to fly on (after the A380) - ironically, though, this is the noisiest place in the A350 cabin to sit, in Business/Upper Class just forward of the engine inlet.
Best plane ever! Would recommend to take, also it’s such an excitement when you see the plane making the final turn and onto the runway! Trent XWB gives me CF6 vibes ♥
I flew on the Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 series last May to Orlando from Manchester, a fabulous aircraft indeed. I was due to fly with THAI airways on an A350-900 series a couple of years ago, but their delivery of the aircraft was late so flew on their Boeing 777-300ER's to Bangkok from Heathrow instead.👍👍
Impressive engine grind very similar to the 777. However, when your right next to it it's obnoxiously annoying until it reaches a QUIET cruising speed. Thank god for noise cancelling headphones.
A perfect vid seeing the engine and the shadow cast by the sun on the port side of the plane. I just wish cabin crew would be quiet sometimes until they pullback take off thrust and then they wont sound so screachy. 👍
A350 and A380 according to me are one of the best and most polished sounding aircrafts, yes there isn't the roar you would hear from the older wide bodies but come on.
Haha I like the planes shadow as it’s taking off. Great vid 👍🏻. Tell you what I like too them prop planes when they land the pilots manoeuvre them with ease.
Wasnt there a double engine failure by a british airways as it came to land at heathrow once causing a crash. Mayve Rolls Royce jet engine not as good as we think it is
That is the sound of the tips of the main turbine blades spinning at supersonic speeds. Tends to be a feature of RR engines especially. Fondly known as the 'Buzz-saw Effect'.
You know how many CFM56s have been produced? And that it's the airline that's responsible for maintenance like making sure cowlings are closed correctly?
A380 is probably my least favorite plane. Side walls are too thick for photography, and the upper deck picks up quite a bit of “swaying” motion in flight.
Airplanes never fail to impress me. I always wonder what someone from the past would make of this. We are very lucky to be alive right now.
As much as I fly, it still amazes me every-time I step onboard one.
Very true 😊
Was just thinking precisely the same.

I always wondered what the Wright brothers would think about this.
It's always exciting when you make that final turn onto the runway
And the best bit is getting pushed back into your seat when FLX power is set

7. The re-assuring Rolls Royce engine badge
Agreed with all of the above as I caught all of that as well. One thing to add.
8. The mechanical whirring sound of the flaps retracting.
Me: Trying to enjoy engine roar
Cabin crew: Let’s do the annoucement!
Don’t understand why EU/Asian airlines like to make an announcement a minute after takeoff 🤦🏻♂️
@@nstreet_photography Yes I agree, especially british carriers do that..
@@nstreet_photography This is not an EU/Asian airline.
@@nipafilms236 If it's British then it is not EU or asian, is it.
Id say youre great fun at parties @thegrandmuftiofwakanda
An exciting take off, especially with the aircraft shadow appearing to fly on to a different destination............
Awesome video! Perfect seat for an engine view & the A350 is just 👌
I prefer it over the 787
The A350 has the best sounding engines of any modern day airliner. It still has character. Most new engines now just have a low howl and thats it
if people can appreciate the sound of v-10 F1 cars, we can appreciate this.

The hot rod red engines are so cool on Virgin Atlantic planes

yet its so quiet in cruise, its amazing
Love the shadow getting smaller and smaller
thats one of the best engine growls i've ever heard! great video!
Love Rolls Royce engines.
Sounds daft but i really like seeing the shadow of the plane, nice catch!
Me too!

Brilliant. As an AvGeek I really appreciate this video. Nice view out of the window too.
This has me reliving my flight with Virgin Atlantic to Miami in 2011. Best holiday ever!
The A380 behind your A350!!! Wish we could see that too lol
Best plane ever! Would recommend to take, also it’s such an excitement when you see the plane making the final turn and onto the runway! Trent XWB gives me CF6 vibes ♥
Rolls Rocye trent engines for a guess, so beautiful and so proud for me as I come from the city they are built, Derby England ❤
2 months to go until I take my kids one of those behemoths to Florida, I think we're more excited for the A350 than disney!
Just finished a round trip to Denver with BA on these birds and trust me, TOGA on these is way different from others like the 787 and A330
The apron as you took off looks fantastic
What a sound! I love it.

Gotta love that ground shadow!!!
Spectacular vid 👌🏽
Excellent takeover views really great thanks for sharing wonderful video and excellent photography congratulations 👌
great view of Heathrow on departure - thanks!
Can usually tell it's a Rolls Royce Engine with that distinctive sound, different to other engine sounds
As hard as I ever accelerate I can never get my Ghost to sound like this......
Lovely & satisfying ❤. Thx for video
Went on Virgin A350-1000 last year to JFK and returned from MCO. Fabulous aircraft
Impressive engine grind very similar to the 777. However, when your right next to it it's obnoxiously annoying until it reaches a QUIET cruising speed. Thank god for noise cancelling headphones.
Nice video. Thank you for sharing.
Trent growl is unmatched
I hope to be a pilot for Virgin Atlantic one day
That wing flex at lift off tho!!
What a sound!
I love flying on the a350, but almost all have economy cabins behind the engines and you can’t hear that awesome roar 😕
That rarest of things, a sunny day in Britain.
Look at today😂
Sure to be pissing it down the rest of the time 😂😂😂

Agreed!
A nice shot of Windsor Castle coming into view at 3:04
Those Rolls Royce engines 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
And it's an Airbus so nothing's going to fall off.
What is that part of the wing that retracts at about the 2 minute mark? I can hear the hydraulics working...
Flaps and slats
Great wee bit of video footage, buddy.🤝👍
Rolls XWB power… 👌
Did it sound that loud all the way to Atlanta? 🙉
Noisier inside the plane than outside.
The rolls Royce engines always sound the best on thrust reduction
Buzztastic sounds
I'm still baffled and amazed at how fast these A350s accelerate. The same manufacturer that makes the hairdryer A340.
Re-assuring Rolls Royce badge in tow 👌
That is a massive shadow during takeoff
A350 and A380 according to me are one of the best and most polished sounding aircrafts, yes there isn't the roar you would hear from the older wide bodies but come on.
awesome ♥ ,usic to my ears
was it that loud the entire flight?
Wonder if those engines are the XWB 84 or 97? Either way, they sure are loud and growly!
Do a google search on the registration…
I’d imagine these engines are the XWB-97s.
Haha I like the planes shadow as it’s taking off. Great vid 👍🏻. Tell you what I like too them prop planes when they land the pilots manoeuvre them with ease.
It was a beautiful day to fly!
Lovely vid!
The best aircraft in the sky, the a350
Powerful roar 😮😮😊😊❤❤
Wasnt there a double engine failure by a british airways as it came to land at heathrow once causing a crash. Mayve Rolls Royce jet engine not as good as we think it is
Fantastic video
3:05 - Windsor Castle.
Windsor castle below at 4.04
sounds like they have to work pretty hard to get to cruising altitude.
Awesome 👌
Windsor Castle and the private grounds at 3.00
What runway was for takeoff
rolls royce..converting dead dinosaurs into power since 1906
do u know u saw an a380 behind u?
Great video what seat position is this ?
Info is in the description
@@nstreet_photographythx sorry I forgot to click the more button. I’m going on 350 soon and this seat position is perfect so wanted to know. Thx agsin
@@gwalker3092 Ahhh I’ve never clicked on ‘ more’ button before, I see lots of info 👍🏻 cheers.
This plane would send you to the ENT doctor. I hope they provide ear plugs 😂😂😂
Can anyone explain the "drilling" sound that completely overtakes the jet sound?
That is the sound of the tips of the main turbine blades spinning at supersonic speeds. Tends to be a feature of RR engines especially. Fondly known as the 'Buzz-saw Effect'.
Sounds like it's done a big end bearing 😂
Why does it always sound like a bearing is f*cked?
Weird, so if you spend a little more money, you get engines that work and do not flame out or fall apart during flight? Does anyone boeing know this?
Boeing don’t make engines though.
@YelpBullhorn so glad you commented after not understanding what I said one bit, always need a good laugh.
@@tylerdurden4006 well it was a joke, so well done to you for getting it. Buy yourself a badge.
@@YelpBullhorn lol, sure it was 😉

Almost as good as its predecessor the RB211.
Almost…but that is the King of engines. Lol
A
how much of that thing is carbon-fibre, basically surfboard material? The funniest picture of a 787 is the one with duct tape on the starboard wing.
It’s not duct tape, it’s speed tape, it’s a lot more sticky lol. A350 is about 53% cfrp
@@davidajayi1207 i'm still not keen, but thanks.
@@johnbutler3742 speed tape is made from aluminum and the most adhesive compound you can find, it’s extremely hard to removed
Doesn't roar like it's little sister A350-900 😔
Rolls Royce😃
I would call that a whine.
It kinda makes me worried that maybe we really aren't meant to be flying...
You would have wings
@@Matty12333 I'll need to request those next time...

Preferred to have been behind on the BA A380 but a nice video. Terrible cabin announcement that the worst I have ever heard
A380 is probably my least favorite plane. Side walls are too thick for photography, and the upper deck picks up quite a bit of “swaying” motion in flight.
Wouldn’t be seen dead on a virgin plane
More of a determined whine than a deep throated roar.
What a horrible noise! It sounds like it desperately needs a full top-up of engine oil.
imagine hearing that for 6hrs + 😂
The roaring is normal on the A350s.
Wtf is the noise
what about it? it’s amazing
@@star_wzmint isn't it! Proper engine growling!
That growl sounds unhealthy af
Sounds quite unhealthy. 737 max has quieter engines
But Airbus planes don’t fall out of the sky.
Because Boeing engine smashed up to pieces on the ground.
It’s actually pretty quiet, the sound is boosted here
Besides, after takeoff, they typically reduce the thrust.
