Yes Please I been wanted a good headset for so Long. I SUB LIke and Turned on the Post Notification
Have you tested the G1x
Finally I’ve been waiting for this , love the cinematic at the start 👌
such a fantastic headset! and paired up with that amp, shewwweee!
I just bought this combo. You sold me. Cant wait to get them. I've been using a Razer Kraken and I wanted an upgrade.
oh nice! big time upgrade, you are going to love it!!
Really good review man. I’m happy how far you’ve gotten please don’t stop man!
thank you so much!
Thank you do much because of your arctis 5 review i bought it and its so comfortable and it sounds amazing
thank you for watching, and so glad I was able to help out! the 5's are so nice!
Hey Techne, new subscriber here!
Just bought the AT ATH G1 and SoundblasterX G6 combo after your review. They replaced my trusted turtlebeach elite 800 which lasted me 8 years...
Its an absolutely jaw dropping combo. Battlefield 5 audio now melts my brain. Thanks so much for your video work. You come across as a really genuine, down to earth and passionate guy. All the best for 2021 from the UK.
Bought them after seeing this review used them for a couple of weeks now these are awesome sound is great comfort great and mic is superb.
@Psypole Razi its great just as new but im careful with my headsets 😂
Audio Technica is love
Does the G1 or the M50X have better audio quality? I don't really care if I have a built-in mic, I think I used the mic exactly once on my old cheapy headset just to test it, and the detachable and interchangeable cables on the M50X seem like a plus for me, but I wonder if the audio of the G1 might be significantly different. I only game on PC and Nintendo Switch, but would probably also use the headphones for music and video while at home.
How does this compared to the Steelseries Arctis Pro in terms of sound and comfort?
Would you reccomend this for gaming (especially fps games which rely on imaging) over the SHP9500?
Hey techne would you recommend upgrading from the arctis pro wired (No Dac) to these or the nova pro wired for the Xbox series x? I can get the G1 for 100 dollars right now but don’t mind spending the extra money if the novas are better. Mainly play call of duty. Thank you and enjoy your videos!!
So which do you prefer now with this setup with the g6 or the ath-g1wl
I've watched this review like 10 times lol and finally made the decision to order this combo. I hope it's worth it, and thank you love your reviews.
So ? Was it worth ?
How was it ?
I got this combo (ath-g1 and g6)a couple of months ago. Incredible sound and comfort. Also have a pair of arctis pro wired (without dac), and i prefer the g1’s. Way more comfortable, and better sound for me.
@@JonofBerglund since that comment lol, I have switched over to a open back headset the Philips SHP9500, absolute game changer. If your into competative fps games and need to hear foot steps get the SHP9500'S.
@@AKY1LUV daaaamn.. been thinking about getting a pair of open-backs for music and gaming. The ath is my first ”better” pair of headphones, but now i want to experiment with different pairs. Might save up for a used pair of audeze, or go phillips. Hard decisions!
This headset looks soo goood, great review
thank you so much! It really is a great headset!
Audio technica is really a good brand for audio quality but there is always some catch to the headphones, for my m40x it is the earpads as I changed it for more prolonged use and better comfort
Hi Techne, i'm curious... Is this headset has 7.1 surround sound features?
Forget the giveaway... This is quality content 👍✌
I have been using this headset for two years with Topping DX3 Pro V2 DAC. Wow! And again...Wow!
That "right there" was a good review, probably going to pick some up.
thank you so much! I love this headset, and still use it daily. such an amazing product!!
👍👍another great review. Between these and the logitech g pro which sound better?
oh these 100%
Hey Techne, I know this video is a slight bit old, but if I wanted to get rid of my gaming headset, and my ATH-M40x would this be a solid option? specificly for the sound quality of the M40x is really important. Thanks!
These are great for long wearing sessions and the audio is better for tue mids/highs. I would really recommend a soundblaster mixamp.
do these have surround sound? or does adding the dac do that... gotta have it for playing search on CoD
I just ordered the Audio Technica ATH G1 and Soundblasterx G6 upon your recommendation and they'll be here Monday. Should I plug them into my pc one at a time so Windows 10 recognizes them or just plug the G6 into my pc with the headset attached to the?
either way will be fine. you are going to love the combo!!
Loving the new background man, I’m gonna have to go back and watch a few of your last videos. I wasn’t very active, hows your new home?
thank you so much for the background comps, and watching the vids. as for the new home, we are loving it. still a bunch of organizing to do, but it's finally starting to feel like a home.
The Techne I certainly hate getting organized and cleaning up when I move, but enjoy your new place!
awesome video, keep it up!!
thank you!
So it’s been over a year now since this review, do you still prefer this headset with the G6 than any other headset? I would like to continue using my G6. These ATH-G1 I am considering but I was just wondering if maybe you have a different opinion now than you did when you did this review which is quite some time now. Have you tried any other headset paired with the G6? If so I’d like to know your thoughts on them.
Great review by the way!
(I game specifically on PlayStation if that helps)
it is still a very very good pair. now you can save some money and go with something like the 7p or something like that. but yes this paired with the g6 is amazing.
Dude you have no idea how hard it is to get a pair of them ATH-G1 headsets , unbelievable lol I reached out to Audio-Technica thru email and they basically told me they won’t have anymore in stock till 2021. I guess I’m using my Sennheiser headset till then
Anyone know how these stack up compared to the ATH-AG1x?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Hi techne! Can you make a review on The glorious gmmk compact keyboard?
I have looked into that board before. I just have so many keyboard reviews lined up already. but it is on my list still
Will this be good with the sound blaster g3?
I have been using the Corsair void rgb pro’s and I’ve been looking for an upgrade and I think these might do
Great video as always. So if you remember me I am the guy from the arctis pro comparison asking for the best suggestion. You told me to wait a week to find out. Is this what your calling the best headset and recommending me?
I remember our convo. and yes this is the one! and pair it up with the G6 recently reviewed, sheeewweeee me oh my its amazing!
@@TheTechne The problem is that the rubber cable with rip easily. Why i need a braided cable is because I usually roll over my wires by accident and my headset of 4 years with braided cables has not ripped yet but rubber would have. Also the color scheme throws me off so far idk about it. Do you have suggestions
How's the soundstage on these? Easy to hear where gunshots and footsteps are coming from in FPS games? Going back and forth on whether I should get these or the Fidelio X2HR w/ Vmoda BoomPro.
these are all around solid. great sound, and amazing comfort
If you want soundstage and for fps gaming, i would recommend the shp9500 + vmoda boom mic, good soundstage and decent imaging. X2hr is bassier and you don't want that if you want to hear footsteps better.
What's a good budget alternative to the Soundblaster G6 you recommend here? I'm hitting the top of my budget with these but I'd love to get an external amp to push them a bit more.
I haven't used it, but the G5 is 100$
G5 or syba sonic
I have ordered these two products based on your review. Thanks
awesome! please let me know what you think once you receive them! what platform are you playing on?
@@TheTechne For sure, it should arrive next week Tuesday and I will be only using it for PS4
@@TheTechne I received the Sound Blaster X G6 and Audio-Technicia ATH G1.
I connected it to my PS4 PRO.
I immediately heard the sound improvement and started to hear things I never heard before in game with a lot more clarity. Guns, explosions and even the crackle of fire sounded vastly improved. My friends voice in game even sounds clearer. And I currently have a Arctis Pro Wireless. So 100% on the Sound Blaster.
The headphones are very comfortable (I wear Glasses), light and the audio is satisfying. The frequency response of 5 - 40,000 Hz makes a huge difference.
My only comments are that my ears seem to sweat with these headsets and the MIC is not so great and picks up the fan of the PS4. Its clear enough and does the job but Even with adjustments, you get too soft trying to find the balance where you don't pick up noises from the room. But here we are comparing it to the MIC of the Arctis which has noise cancelling. So for my friends, the Arctis Pro MIC was a lot better. So as a stand alone headset at this price, its a solid buy.
I looked around and there are not too many Analogue Gaming headsets with Noise cancellation MICs.
But overall, I am impressed and thanks again for the clear review. It definitely influenced my purchase
@@graemewhite977 awesome! yeah, when I first paired up this combo, I just wanted to start playing old games over again. It was almost like remaster lol! as for the mic, you can adjust the mic setting on the G6 on a pc and it will save to the unit for console use.
The Techne so I tried your suggestion and adjusted the MIC settings on the PC, its perfect now. Thanks
After some research I found the Syba Sonic headphone/mic DAC/Amp for around $40 or for some more money, the Mayflower Arc at $250!
Hey love your channel, can you please tell me if these are ps5 friendly
They will be yeah
How big of a difference does the g6 make on Xbox one?
Will you review the new Corsair Virtuoso gaming headset?

I'm from mexico, I'd be grateful if you add the price on Amazon in the description, I really like your videos :3
Watched the wireless review those had 7.1 surround sound. Do these support surround sound?
only through your pc/console not built in. but headset surround sound is a joke, it's all fake EQ adjusting. never base your headset purchase on that. these ATH-G1's are amazing, they are still my daily headset!
This headset is great! 💯
Do you think audiophile headsets such as this and the Sennheiser GSP 600 etc MUST be paired with a DAC? If I’m buying a £150 headset I don’t wanna be buying a £100+ DAC. Thanks. Great content
no, but it does really bring them to life
The Techne Thanks for the reply. Out of interest, would you say this is the best headset made by an ‘audiophile’ company in this price range? What other audiophile companies make good headsets? Bit of a noob here, thanks for your help!!
I know i am a little late to the party. I really like your reviews. was watching your vids about this modle and WL-Version back and forth and dicided to order the wired version and get a gaming dac-amp aswell (gsx 1000). Now after already having it ordered i find out that the wirded Version not only doesnt have the 7.1 Suround option (shouldnt be an issue with gsx 1000, i hope) but also there is no selfmonitoring on these aswell?! So for 50 Bucks less u get a non-removable cable, no replacement earcups and miss out on two features (selfmonitoring beeing a quite important one)! I really think u should have mentioned that in your review, especially after u showed the WL Version in the beginning and mentioning different featureset. They should arrive tomorrow but the lack of the monitoring feature will make me almost certainly send them back. quite disapointing, i have to say.
Would love to see you review the new Cooler Master lightweight mouse... I think it is called the MM170 maybe? Either way... would love to see that Techne!
hit that bell ;)
@@TheTechne I will from now on buddy. It's something I always forget!!
I own one and it's fantastic! Glides well, great shape (I have big hands I use claw/fingertip). Wish it had a couple more buttons but otherwise top notch. RGB version coming soon too!
Arctis Pro + Dac or these for PS4? About to upgrade from my 4 year old Astros.
get the combo I show in this video 100%, the Pro's are very nice but this combo is the best! ruclips.net/video/2pH6zbV6ToM/видео.html
@The Techne after you review the DT 990 pro and this headset wish one did you prefer ?
these for sure. but sound is such a personal preference thing. 990's are great for music, crisp clear and natural, this headset and many other "gaming headsets" have a nice full immersive sound, and I prefer that for gaming.
Thanks brother
@@orlandoalicea5432 no, thank you for watching!!
The Techne I like everything you always keep me up to day so I know what to buy or not
think ill be buying this combo very soon - torn between this or the arctis pro wireless
I would replace the wireless with the wired with dac.
@@TheTechne use the arctis wired/dac + the G6 is that possible?! love the channel pal subscribed yesterday and going through your videos amazing work
The size of the driver doesnt matter its what you do with it that goes for something else too :)
So I bought ATH M50X a few months ago with my new piano. I have Astro A50s but the battery started to lose its effectiveness and really pissed me off. So, I’ve been using my ATH M50X for my PC. How would you compare the ATH-G1s to the ATH M50s from a gaming perspective?
ahh yes the ath-m50x, my all time fav and daily headset/headphones for gaming, music, and video editing. the m50x is well rounded. just slap some brainwaves ear pads on them and you are perfect!
I think that mic has a great quality. I think it's neck to neck with M50x STS. Anyone else think so?
Do you use these as your personal "go to" headset?
I did for a long time, but I went back to my ATHM50X
Not sure if I missed it in the video, but can you adjust/balance game and chat volume? Love your reviews, great stuff!
Also, I am trying to decide between these, TB Elite Pro 2, Steelseries Arctis 9X, and Plantronics RIG 800LX. What’s your opinion? Returning TB Stealth 700 as they hurt my head after only an hour of use.
if I remember correctly no you can't. BTW are you on xbox?

Hi, can someone help me out please, I just purchased this headset and tried it for the first time, it’s great plugged straight into my scuff controller for the PS4 for apex but when I used it on my pc for Fortnite the sound was terrible and weird, anyone know why?
Audio technica is really well known in the audiophile community as having some really good headphones. Having tried some I can say these are a great product
I forgot to comment in this video, I thought I did....... Audio Technica has always been good from what I hear great review and brand
yeah, I really love their products! always great quality.
Do they work on PS4?
FINALLY I FOUND A REVIEW OF THE G1, thanks :)
you gotta try this headset!
How would you rate this against the arctis 5 on pc?
hmmmm, the 5's have eq adjustment, but these are solid right of of the box. I say just go with whatever is cheaper
Can't wait when audio Technica sells these pads
so dang cozy! the entire headset is so cozy!

I have been through Hyper X, Razer Thresher, Astro A40 with M80 amp, and Rig 800LX (Which I’ve had since they were released and are now failing) I just want a good headset 😂😂
Dang it @The Techne, I just ordered these yesterday and waiting for them to arrive today!! I can’t wait!! Now I have to convince my wife to let me get the amp 😂😂😂

The Techne , man you were not even close on this review. ThIS IS the BEST GAMING HEADSET I have had. Comfortable, sounds frickin awesome, and when I listened to The Prodigy on these I almost cried!!! Now I gotta get that dang G6 amp now 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂
The Techne , so I have this headset on my Xbox one x. My problem is I am hearing a lot of popping while playing games. It doesn’t do this on PS4 pro.......Any ideas?
I've just ordered this combo too, for me it's my 1st time I'm getting a expensive headset. I really hope it's woth it. 🤞 how are you finding yours?
Damn it I wanted to get this headset. But that undetachable cord is a no go for me. That's why I took back the hyperx cloud 2 for the alpha's, and it was a tough decision.
yeah the attached cord is a stinker, but wow everything else makes up for it
How much is it??!??

I mainly play FPS games, so sound positioning and hearing footsteps is very important, the mic sound quality is also important.
Thanks in advance!
ATH-G1 has very solid sound and mic
Bought them, for some reason they sound... Bad. (PC)
I was wondering if I had to change my sound settings, no clue how to do that.
Any chance you could show / describe your own settings for this thing to sound amazing?
no they are plug an play, no software. just make sure you adjust your frequency on your pc
@@TheTechne Sadly none of the frequencies seem to allow for decent sound. I suppose a refund if the only option at that point?
If you had the money for either, would you buy the wired or the wireless version? I'm looking to get something for music, gaming (PC + Switch) and business meetings!
ohhhhh man, I love both. (reviewed both) but if I could just choose one, it would have to be wired.
Are these more worthwile than the arctis 5?
oh yeah, shewwwweee these are a great headset. but the 5's are still very nice1
Best PS4 headset please that sound loud and clear wireless and wired without extra stuff? And on last question why does my wired ath m50x (no mic) sound loud? My thoughts were that is a 3.5 trs Jack and trrs use more electric energy thus low sound..
arctis 7's

@@stevenforonda9601 thank you so much!
how does the sound compare with the arctis pro wireless
both are very very good! some of the best I have tested. more options with the pro's (eq and all) teh ATH is solid out of the box, a tad bit more low end
Hi, I don't know what to buy, I am really interested in these audiotecnica g1 but I also found that these headset is based on the m50x that are really good too, so I found a bundle that are the m50x with a external mic, and the m50x have a detachable cable and that is the only mistake of the g1s. Have you ever used the m50x? I dont know if they are as confortable as these ones
And I dont know if the cable of the g1s is very durable, is the g1's cable good? I bought a logitech g430 and the cable is now ruined, so I dont know if is better to buy the m50x with a mic that have a detachable cable or these g1s with that issue :(
the m50x range is 15 - 28,000 Hz these are 5 - 40,000 Hz, so I would compare these more to the Audio-Technica ATH-M70x
and yes I do have a pair of the 50x, and these are hands down no question 100x more comfy. (and that's not saying the 50x are not comfy, these are just that good)
@@TheTechne mmm, the m70x are way too expensive if we compare it with these ones, and they are very similar, I think I will buy the g1's because of the audio quality, is very sad they didnt put a detachable cable, I would pay more if the g1 had that feature, but anyways, I think that I will have to take care of them.
Thank you really nice video
it is a think rubber a bit bouncy, lol cable. If you are buying them from Amazon, maybe just get the protection plan if it worries you. as for me using the heck out of them, with 2 large doberman, a 5yr old son, and a bunch of gaming no issues.

yes
