@@Podcastage Hey Bandrew today in my subscription inbox I got this video for the Soyuz Launcher, I think you might find it interesting: ruclips.net/video/tXrJqak7-cI/видео.html
I have not even begun to get into the ANC market. I bought Bose's noise cancelling headphones 3 or 4 years ago and those are fine. The Shure IEM's do an amazing job with passive noise cancellation though.
@@pijakas We talking about dynamic microphone, most probably because how directional they are and how well they reject background noises. Omnidirectional electret mic in mh751 is opposite to that.
I might be wrong, but I think the volume faders in many headets are usually first to start having issues. What will usually happen is that the stereo will sound uneven/go out of balance, and you have to fiddle with the fader to eventually make it sound "centered" again. I think it's the mechanism of the volume fader itself that start to go, and this will usually happen before cable starts having problems.
That’s why I like buying almost everything I review. I don’t have to deal with nonsensical demands from companies. I only accept items from companies if they agree to my terms. Otherwise, I’ll just buy it, and do the review how I do it...whenever I get around to it.
This "gaming" headset actually has a pretty decent mic, because all of the other "official" gaming headsets has very crappy ones. Good review as always, Bandrew! 👍
Man, all the headset and microphone reviews I've watched until I come across your channel feellike potato now. I don't understand what you're doing, but I do understand that you know what you're doing and you doin it well!
I actually just returned these headphones. I was excited but they sounded tin-y compared to my older HyperX Revolver and a lot of details in my music and games was lost in the mid-range. It didn't sound clear or crisp, and actually sounded almost like it was peaking.
I am officially requesting you start a "They Might Be Giants" cover band called "They Might Be Midgets".... also... Alex was right about you. You should be *--CENSORED BY RUclips--*.
thanks so much for the nice review! i was about to ask for the comparison with the M50x, but yeah u did that already! big fan of audio technica, love the IM02 (for the sweetest female vocal) and the M50x for some nice beats... was thinking if i should get this one but i'll pass and stick with the M50x while gaming (creative X-Fi platinum sound card) thanks mate!
I’m kinda stuck on 4 mics shure sm48 vs neewer nw 700 vs XM8500 vs pga/pg58 which one sounds the best and blocks a lot of background noise, keyboard sounds, and sounds from a open back headset.
@Podcastage so know USB tp plugin to your computer? if they don't have 1 that has a wire headset with usb that you can plugin to your pc not sure how that stacks up
Audio technica headphones are used all over big studios. They also have some of the best condenser studio microphones at a reasonable price. Since they’re a company that is trusted by many many musicians, and work at a really high scale to make the best products they can. So im not surprised they did a pretty good job.
I honestly haven’t found any headsets that handle “gamer moments” well. To resolve that there would need to be a mic with a high SPL and an analog limiter.
8:20 I just replaced the cable on a nice pair of Bose headphones, so I can certainly appreciate a detachable cable on expensive headphones, which is why these would be a no-go for me. $10-$25 vs. $100-$170. There is actually the ATH-PG1 which does have a detachable cable, but unfortunately it is a proprietary connector, so it's their way or the highway in terms of pricing. There's a reason gaming headsets get a bad rep, it's because a lot of them substitute quality drivers or microphones for flash, neon green artwork, chunky angular design (that often isn't even that comfortable to wear), and flashing LED lights, which is why you'll see a lot of modmic/V-MODA BoomPro recommendations. However, if those microphones are 'good enough', there's nothing in particular stopping manufacturers from incorporating that same mic quality into regular headphones besides the investment. If you look close enough, there are a few headsets that do just that. Besides ATH-G1, I happen to think the Sennheiser Game Zero/One has a pretty good mic. There's also the Beyerdynamic MMX 300, and while that might be the best headset mic you can get for this type of application, good luck paying for that. A ATH-G1/Game 0/1 comparison would be interesting, I think the Senn would give the ATH-G1 stiff competition, being in the same rough price bracket. tl;dr, while 'gaming headsets sux' is a pretty good rule of thumb for those going for flash over substance (a lot/most of them), it's not a universal recommendation. There are a few pretty good ones out there to pick from. There's good reason to recommend against most gaming headsets but not 100% of them. Now, if you've got half a grand to spend and want to go Joe Buck on us, test us some Sennheiser HMD 25/26. (-:
I bought róde nt-usb the sound is good but whenever any audio plays it disappears from the devices list but it is still on, I tried connecting my headphones to the mic and I am going to try with another cable. Anyone know how to fix this?
In Windows, you have to go to the Device Manager, and go to the properties of the USB device which is mapped to the microphone and disable the "turn off device to save power"
First gaming headset? What about ATH-PDG1, ATH-PG1, ATH-ADG1X, ATH-AG1X?(predecessor; non X) These have been out for many years. Wasn't the G1 released this year? All the others have good mics too(I have been telling people for years) and great sound quality.
Most high end audiotecnica headphones need some tuning. I heard the MDR7 needs adjustment in the sound settings as it was playing half the bandwidth it can handle, therefore feeling suffocated. Didn't get to play with it yet.
fun intro. :) hey!, the mic sounds better than that logitech trash you tried earlier.. ;) if you think the ath-50x's sound good, try the ath-40s -- blows them 50s out of the water.. ;) Will never buy gaming headset every again, but this mic sounded great for what it is -- never change, cheers!
Why don’t they just make a good mic to mount on the existing m50x's? I already have those. By the way, if these are MORE bassy than the m50x, then WOOOAAA! because I think the M50x's are a little too bass-heavy, even though they do sound good.
Would like to see a gaming headset mic comparison like you do with regular mics. Please include some cheapo boom and inline mics from that famous overseas marketplace and the V-Moda mic. Also PC38x. Okay, great, thanks!
You're the best Bandrew!!...im looking for the most comfortable headset available. It would be nice to have a good mic, but the mic is secondary and i NEED a USB headset that I could wear all day thats comfortable. Do they even exist? Thanks Bandrew!
I laughed a little too hard at the 'You should be sterilised' comment. A revving into wheezy old man laughter where my diaphragm was the clear victim! The preamps on Macbook's must be half decent to only need a 15% gain as nearly all PC's desktop/laptop basic inputs need a 100% gain to get anything usable and even then it sounds like complete toilet. I need to use an external preamp to get a moderately clean signal. I'm not an elite gamer and ride my horse, Gideon, on Minecraft using the SWAD keys!!
Not bad and yes, it looks like having the best mic emong its competition. But a bass-head is not a deal for me. Why is ther only the ModMic as an alternativ?? And no, VMode BoomPro is not, because you cant apply that to 90% of devices out there.
Why would a gaming headset microphone have a rear ( outward facing ) pickup capability at all? If the rear audio pickup was the same or less than the 90 degree offset they'd be much better. I'm pretty sure nobody wants to hear the user hitting the keyboard keys whilst playing a game.
Hello, i have a question, would you rather buy this one or headphones +modmic? These sounds great and the idea of not having two cable sticking from your headphones is great. Also, im looking for best sounding headphone mic. You can sent me your recommendations
Have you considered reviewing the Peavey PVI 100 handheld microphone? It's not an expensive mic, but I know Peavey has had some good mics in the past. I am interested to know more about it.
Sounds like it’s constantly distorting... also hypercardioid picks up behind the mic which doesn’t make a lot of sense in this context. The mic on my cheap plantronics headset I got from work is much better than this.
Ergh... My motherboard has so far rejected any attempt at installing anything that would let me control tone. Since I can't adjust the bass, sadly, these are out.

Wouldn't a DAC, with EQ settings, fix the bass so it isn't too much?
I would suggest the Beyerdynamic MMX300v2 if you're looking for a really good gaming headset. Doesn't come cheap though.
This one or beyerdyanamics mx 300 which better when comes to fps games like footsteps positional?
Do you know good ANC headphones, preferably over ear for $200 max?

Check out the Cooler Master MH751 if you want a headset with a good mic, probably better sounding than this one.

or how about Audeze LCD-GX?
