As the Holy Spirit speaks perfect. I’ve been trying to tell people Matthew is one of the most important Gospels. He speaks very critical and loving. The beatitudes and sermon on the mount is was most pastors over look and ad there opinion because if you speak Matthew they say it’s written then almost everyone will walk away from Jesus. My prayers is that people’s eyes are open now ✝️🙏🏼🙌🏻
All of the gospels are important because they were written to different people groups and come from different perspectives. Matthew was written to Jews to convince them that Jesus is the Messiah. Mark wrote primarily for a Roman audience, and presented Jesus as the Servant of the Lord, and stressed action and deeds. Luke was a physician who travelled with the Apostle Paul on his missionary journeys. He was probably a Gentile, and his purpose in writing was to provide an accurate written account of Jesus' life. Luke aimed his gospel at the Greeks, who were seeking the perfect man, so he presented Jesus as the Perfect God-Man who provides salvation for imperfect human beings. His second book, the Acts of the Apostles, continues the story of Jesus' ministry through His people by the Holy Spirit. John's gospel was written to show the deity ofJesus. His gospel makes it very clear that not only is Jesus God, but that He made that claim about Himself many times during His ministry - which is why the Jews tried to stone Him on a number of occasions as a blasphemer. There is not so much in the gospel of John about all Jesus' miracles, but it contains a lot more than the other gospels do of Jesus' teachings. The Bible would be so much poorer if any one of these accounts was missing.
Does noone count the generations listed in Matthew? The names r listed and can be counted. Its bugged me for years. I know its not eternally important but....there are not 14 in the last list. Its 13. Unless you double count Jeconiah.
David is on another level. He digs deep and it's awesome.
