IMO the 2025 looks way better. The front grill is larger, more modern.

The new one looks like a throwback to older generation styling but modernized. I like it, looking forward to seeing what they do with other models in the future.

I drove both and I think the 25 is way better in every way (power, ride, sound, comfort, tech)! I ordered a Touring.

I had an Outback Touring as a rental for a week and liked it a lot more than anything from Toyota, Honda or Nissan in the $30-40k price range. Now I’m considering the 2025 Forester. The only thing I didn’t like was how firm the ventilated seats were in the Outback Touring.

Yesterday took delivery of a 2025 Subaru Forester Touring moving from a 2018 Subaru Forester Limited. So far the transition is moving forward except having difficulty connecting garage door opener function to HOMELINK.

I think the touring trim has the nicer door cards and dash material. At least it did in the Outback Touring rental I had with the same infotainment screen as the 2025 Forester.

I have a 2023 Forester Touring Hybrid. The new 2025 seems better in all aspects and looks great. I will change it as soosn as I can. And, as far as I see, there is no CD player in 2025, which is not very important.

The way the 2.5L equipped Subarus drive, they don’t feel at all slow or underpowered to me. I don’t know what the fuss is about. But if the torque curve makes the ‘25 drive better that’s all to the good. I have a 2018 Outback touring which is pre-SGP update.

As an owner of a 2019, Forester touring, hear me clearly Subaru: get those USELESS 19 inch wheels off that new Touring trim! The tires do not have enough sidewall. In fact, even your 18 inch tire needs to be a 60 aspect ratio and not 55. I have 2 bent wheels and had to replace 3 studs on those 18s.!! I replaced the OEMs with a bigger size and it’s been fine. Now you’ve made it worse and gave them even LESS sidewall! Lay off the bling and get back to more function and practicality.

    • @agak61
      @agak61 Месяц назад

Do you think 17 are the best option? I wanted the Sport but the wheels are too big ;) maybe more for a man but not a female. And the limited is a little too much $ for the difference for 18 inch.

The reasons I purchased a 2024 Forester Touring over the 2025 are mostly because of the interior. The 2024 has much more intuitive and functional controls. Getting rid of most physical switchgear saves money but increases complexity. Plus good luck using the sunroof or opening even the sunscreen on the 2025. I did when I test drove it and the glare completely made the 11.6" screen useless. Other aspects of the interior were the choice and design of the materials. The 2024 has better materials, the attention to little details are evident, and it "felt" more put together as though it will age well in the long term. I did not have the same impression with the 2025. I do agree on the wheels. For the love of God why put 19" wheels on this unless you are playing follow the crowd. I'm sure that is why the 2025 Touring gets a little less MPG than the 2024. I get 33-34 consistently on my 2024 with day to day driving. On the highway with the adaptive cruise I have gotten as high as 37. Remember these are not hybrids. The bigger wheels are also prone to curb damage, excessive tire wear, and an increase of flats if your roads are as disastrous as they are in Pennsylvania. At the end of the day they are both good vehicles. If you want a new 2025 I would recommend purchasing sooner than later because production will be moved from Japan to the United States next year. I've owned Subarus produced in both countries. The ones built in Japan always felt better "screwed together." These are obviously merely my perceptions.

@@user-un1bh6ws9j I almost bought 2024 but when I heard it will be wireless - I waited. The phone cable and nowhere to put your phone are pain in the butt in 2024. Nobody will want it in few years

I think Ford may have done a better style job in 2015 -- pretty close. It could be that I only experienced the dark gray metallic, and it just looked drab as can be in the base model. Could be a brighter color is needed, as there in no a speck of chrome. As for the interior, I was not too impressed. Maybe the Premium or Sport will be less blah? The Base in blue might jazz up the exterior some. The Sport is priced like a Venza, or CRV hybrids. For off the road travel -- snow, I get it, it will be superior, but around here they never get much more than dust on them. With the price now exceeding the Outback, we may have a problem. Let the discounting begin.

The front seats have changed. The ‘25 has wider, deeper bolsters, which provide more hugging of the body. I liked them, but my wife found them too narrow. We’re buying for her so we’re on to a different car entirely.

Actually, I like the 2 screen better. I have a 22 limited Ascent and my husband would go nuts with that big screen. Our first cars were from the 60s and 70s so no computers. So my 22 ascent is enough. I also have a CD player built in. The 23 doesn’t.

That is the biggest reason I purchased a 2024 Touring. The large touchscreen is not as easy to operate, especially if you have neurological issues, plus the glare is horrible. Unfortunately it seems all the manufacturers are going to the large screens and getting rid of physical switchgear. The 2024 Forester was one of the last ones standing.

  • @chuckwalla2967

  • @keithkornatoski9162

I think both are "meh" ... my wife has a 2020 Forester Sport ... my complaints in no particular order ... the 2.5 boxer is crude/unrefined ... MPG is at best average (could be better) ... the auto start/stop shakes the entire car on startup ... either the brakes or the CVT are starting to act weird almost as if the CVT hangs in neutral too long or the brakes are releasing which at times gives the impression of the car "speeding up" on deceleration ... I don't think I have to buy another!

  • @angusmacdonald5300

In 2023 I bought a Subaru Forester Limited with the option package that included the then larger infotainment screen and the enhanced Harmon Karmon audio with subwoofer. As some else has noted, the car came with a CD player, which was important to me, and it has physical buttons for controlling many functions which is also important to me. I am happy with this car. The new model Forester looks too much like a Ford Explorer.
