The CR-V has barely functional AWD while the Subaru has the best AWD available without a substantial price increase, if that matters in your buying decision 🙂

2 big differences if you are comparing these two because of the close pricing: 1. The Honda has real leather seating in the EX-L you show here, while the Sport version of the Forester has Startex leatherette (vinyl) seating. and 2. The Subie is standard with maybe the best AWD for this segment of vehicles, while the Honda would charge you another $1600 or so.

Getting ready to buy the 2025 Forester. Love the large sunroof and upgrades from the 2024. The Forester also has a roomier feel to it which I need - I have a large Great Bernese Mountain Dog who needs the Forester's higher backseat ceiling and lower/flatter bench. My wife has a 2024 Crosstrek and the info system is slow to respond but I have heard the slowness issue has been corrected in the 2025 Forester (hope that's right). Forester negatives for me: no remote engine start or lowering of the windows from the key fob and the backseat windows do not go all the way down. Also the Honda's program which runs the Sirrus/XM radio works better than the Forester's. Overall, the Forester was the right choice for me.

Ben- I think you omitted pointing out that the CRV doesnt have a spare tire. This likely is why it's loading floor is lower, & why there is more cargo volume.
Which drives better in a 3 minute ideal weather test? thats like comparing Coke to Pepsi.
You should have a test under all conditions: heavy rain, snow, lousy bumpy roads etc. I say in real world testing, the Subi likely is safer & better overall.

After being in a wreck, in a Subaru Outback, that involved two cars being totaled, and I got out and walked away, I'd pick a Subaru because of the safety factor....
I haven't driven the new Forester yet, but the new Honda CR-V sure feels like a luxury ride. There's no way I'd buy a Honda with a 1.5 L turbo GDI because of the
oil dilution problem..... Honda oil dilution issue affects the majority of 1.5-liter engines used in colder locations. Honda screwed this one up big time.

I have always considered Honda to be a nice car but the Forester is the BEST all-wheel drive car period. To be totally honest I have to say I am on my 4th Forester and I have never liked any turbo..... It is my understanding the Honda turbo is having a gas blow-by the engine rings and contaminating the motor oil ... I am told if you smell any gas take it to the dealer. Good review.

Subaru Touring 2025. Here are some differences.
Subaru has all wheel drive. yes, CRV can have as well. but Forester is better in my opinion.
Honda has walk away door locking that Forester does not offer.
Honda will make a beeping sound if you leave the car with your keys in your pocket and forget to turn it off. Subaru does not.
Honda has a beeping sound as well as light when changing lanes, forester has light only.
Subaru touring does NOT have homelink at this time. No buttons to open garage door so you need to keep garage door opener in car,
Or use a garage door opener app on your phone like My Q.
Subaru Does have ventilated seats. Honda does not offer.
Subaru Touring has a better sound system.
Subaru is safer in my opinion in an accident.
The My subaru app does not refresh. So if it has red alerts from the last time you looked you need to press refresh on the app to receive current status.
It does not have different colors for door locked or unlocked, or if car is running or not.
Example, when you open the app, it is not red if door is unlocked and green if locked. Or red if vehicle is running and green if not running.
