After 20 years of Hondas we switched to Subaru because Honda only offers their best HondaLink safety features on Touring and Elite trims, whereas Subaru offers them on their Premium trim and up. Only 152K miles so far on our Subarus, but they have been great. Honda still makes a great vehicle, but our Subarus have been just as good, significantly less expensive, and better safety features.

Bought my first Honda and CRV month ago. Totally happy. I think we have to be honest here with few things. For offroading Subaru is better there is no doubt. Honda CRV is a family SUV and especially Hybrid for its economic city consumption. When we look comfort and driving excluding offroad + features and extras, then CRV is just way above Subaru. Also the maintenance is way better with Hondas and they are more reliable. Subarus have more likely to have issues. Regarding looks CRV is best looking hands down. Subaru is very regular nothing that stand out. Remind my Range Rover front side. When it comes to exhausts its stupid thing with majority car manufacturers what they use standard bumpers depending engines. Hybrid has one exhaust pipe but full petrol engine CRV has 2 exhaust pipes. Thats the reason Hybrid has left side closed. I dont like that ether but its cost saving to make same bupmer for all version models. Same as Subaru
First time viewer. Thank you for the review. A couple comments regarding the review that stand out to me that I think would make for a better review overall. When comparing fuel economy the CRV gas only vs the Subaru is important to note.. Also, when comparing pricing for the two vehicles the gas version only of the CRV vs the Subaru would have be helpful.
At 2:30, if you look at the tablet screen, you can see that when sunlight comes in from the rear left, it creates a reflection. So if you're driving and the sun happens to be coming from the rear right side, you'll also see a reflection. Then you can't find the buttons. That's the disadvantage to use a tablet to replace the real buttons.
I’d rather have the Forester over the Honda CRV any day of the week rain or shine- SUBARU FORESTER wins hand down. No AWD better than SUBARU SYMMETRICAL AWD.

I'm looking for car it came down to those 2 cars. With the hybrid when you trade it in 10 years it's going to be worthless because it needs new batteries. In the two cars I measured the width & depth behind back seat they both same, so it's the height in Honda. How many people stack stuff. I Agee alittle more room in back seat on Honda. Their both good cars I'm not ready to fly on hybrid..
Honda’s screen is better because it is more responsive, it has greater pixel density, and the touchscreen is laminated directly to the display, which results in less glare than the Subaru where there’s an air gap between the display and the touch panel. Calling Subaru’s screen better just for being bigger is like saying that a budget iPad has a better display than a flagship iPhone or an iPad Mini.
Forester is still a wagon wearing a CUV coat. I'll take a wagon over CUVs any day. No matter how much these CUVs pretend to be rugged, it will never match true SUVs and off-road wagons. A manual and XT trim would've been perfect though...
Took a Honda CRV Hybrid Uber recently. And I will say the interior is such a lack luster the car has no real identity other than the big H for Honda and all the other models looks the exact same.....BUTT BABY THAT UBER DRIVER WAS ENJOYING THAT CRV LOL. It was quick as hell. Response was almost instant. And the handling would make anyone look like they're a pro. I was like this is a fun quick sporty basic as Suv lol
I liked their designs from the late 90's to early 2000s, but late 2000's till now has been a design downturn. They've also had good looking concepts (WRX) that never seem to translate well into production spec.
One is underpowered, crappy infotainment, less mpgs and other one is too expensive, stiff, turbo charged, smaller 1.5 Ltr engine. And ofcourse both are CVTs. Horrible.
Before even watching, I can 100% say…definitely no outdoing in the engine compartment. Hybrid or base. I mean the CR-V is a better engineered machine pretty objectively. That said, I think the new Subie’s exterior isn’t bad and gets unfair shade (agree with vous). But that’s not enough to counter the dumb/dated infotainment setup and the dated engine. Last point: well said re lack of ventilated on any CR-V.
I hate my 19 forester only has 52k and the interior is falling apart, seats are cracking, center console material is wrinkled from my elbow resting on it, rear windows are lose and rattle worst car I’ve owned and I’ve had 27
That Forester interior just needs to go fully redesigned. It has good head space but when I took a Forester Uber recently and it felt like the most detached from modern world car interior Cars of all Brands. The CVT to the horrible interior. It should atleast have some 350 horsepower option. Maybe that's for the Accent
Entire Industry terrified at what might start be arriving from Europe starting already with motorcycles from Great Britain and into North America as for example BMW already produces vehicles in North America as does Mercedes Benz. Of course Tesla, Rivian and Ford all electrics with the Ford Mustang leading all of that at the moment might just make the entire ICE platform a thing of the past especially given the catastrophe at Toyota that is still playing out *"besmirching"* all Japanese products actually. Long $vin Vin fast strong buy😊
CRV has a better interior than the Subaru. Subaru baked a lot of buttons into the touchscreen, which is less ergonomical and a very lazy way to boast a bigger touchscreen
Great video! But this ain’t no off-road vehicle it look the part but any vehicle that has a CVT cannot perform off-road, sorry but this forester ain’t better than the CRV.
