Thanks for the advices! While I was looking at this, I remembered that as a kid, I used to draw part of maps, characters and objects, and then cut them out from the paper and play around with the images like it was a moving fantasy world on my table.
goodness these 'assets' are just so satisfying to look at, I'm definitely taking some inspiration from your work and subbing to see what you come up with next.
What I love about your videos are you give out so much information but it’s also wonderful to watch your work unfold. Thanks for answering so many questions I had. Time for me to get drawing!
thanks for the inking chat. I'm friends with Bob Almond, an inker who runs the Inkwell awards, and was good friends with Joe Sinnott. I'm not in the comics biz but appreciate the craft
@@mapcrow I used to draw comics, but more web comic strips, i never worked in comic books, (just a fan). but yeah, my illustration style and even my paintings are very influenced by comics
This is awesome , I am 50 and played RPG back in the 80s and started GMing arouund 6th grade or so. In college I managed a pretty good sized party and we would play marathon sessions, and I ad to create a lot of original content. I still have a lot Warhammer FRP and Cyberpunk 2020 materials and Ive been thinking about producing marketable adventures out of them. Its great to see the resurgence
I think that's the largest pen grip I've ever seen lol. I'm curious what's the purpose/benefit of one that big? Love that art and tips, glad I subscribed!
@@mapcrow Thank you for posting the link to the orange foam grip!! I've been looking for a thick one like that for ages (I have wrist pain from drawing too much when I was younger). I bought some different grips on Amazon in the past but they were all too small/tight to fit over Microns. Yours looks exactly like what I was looking for. Hopefully your Amazon link is an affiliate link so you can at least get a penny or two from my purchase heh. And thanks @Hunter Nash for asking this question - I was too dim to just read the video description so I went scrolling through comments to see if anybody had already asked about this.
What size is the grid on your paper? 1cm x 1cm? 1 inch x 1 inch? Also, would you like to do a video on more special types of textures such as ice/glaciers, a sand floor, or a floor texture that represents underbrush in a forest while not diminishing the grids? I often end up with unreadable masses of frustrating lines...
Haha! I don’t know of anyone doing a class like this, but I am a college art instructor, so that might be the vibe you are getting! Thanks for watching!!
@@mapcrow Sorry, I'm Brazilian, so I may have expressed myself wrong! I was saying that you could teach people in a drawing course. I would definitely participate in the classes, I'm following your channel and I really enjoyed it!
Ju Dantas oh I see! I would love to teach an online drawing course! I need to figure out how to. Also some of my favorite artists are Brazilian too!! Alex Damaceno and Fernando Salvaterra!!
@@mapcrow I have one more last question, hahaha I would like to study this art style for RPG. But I don't even know if there is something specific like that, do you have any ideas you can give me?
you say that sci-fi gives you interest, but how about steam punk? scrap rusty metal? I would love to see some steam punk isomentric drawing, it's so hard to find. But despite that, thank you, you are inspiring and i love your work
Never say never, but it’s not really where my interest lies. If someone releases a big steampunk rpg with tactical combat, I might be inclined to give it a go.
Hey man. If somebody draws something and then you draw the same thing right on top of it, not going out-side the designated original art, what do you call that? (Jus' kidding. Looks great!)
Are you talking about the blue lines on the page? That is a printed version of the pencils that I drew on a separate sheet. I talk about this in other videos.
Thanks for the advices!

I just love your line work. I love your explanations even more. Looking forward to iso figure drawing!

Good inking, would watch again. Good tip on the foreground to background!
Thanks Sean! We got some more inking on the way this week!!

You're linework is inspirational dude, thank you for all of your quality tutorials!

What I find most impressive is that you are able to do all of this with a humble carrot.
