    The fact the Tiger II is parked next to the AV is a beautiful concept to me, the first and last of the heavies, the end of two empires, the failres of too ambitious ideas

      ​@@H-bp5zrT-34 were a light snack, a single skittle for a Tiger II, either H or P. Even the IS-2 had a bad time fighting it, since they couldn't penetrate de front plate and it's difficult to hit the turret cheeks from far away.

    Tanks are big... But the Tiger is freaking HUGE! I went to the Patton museum and saw one once. I'm 6'2'' and the deck of the thing was taller than me! I can't imagine how terrifying it would have been to face one of those monsters in combat!

      Just look at the development of aerial assets between 1914 and 1918. That is 4 years and stuff goes from an Etterich Taube observation/scout plane and the triumph of the airship to long range R-bombers with wingspans outclassing a Boeing 737. And some even a 737 MAX. In 1916.
      High-performance fighters, and so on!

      SISU isn't really a defense contractor, more of a civilian contractor/business that has made some stuff for the military when they have seen the potential for that sweet sweet government money.

      Ис-7 венец танкостроения сверхтяжелых монстров, по сутм он является королем всех танков той эпохи - эпохи толстой брони и крупнокаллиберных пушек

      ИС-7 и Королевский Тигр, каких-либо реально критических отличий между этими двумя танками нет, а чтобы создать ИС-7, надо было разработать ИС-3 и потом его модернизировать, а вот немцам удалось изготовить машину, актуальности которой хватило бы лет эдак на 10, если модернизировать ходовую часть, то учитывая реалии и на 20.
      Оценивая прагматично, достижения инжинерной мысли врага на тот момент в танкостроении и не только были весьма впечатляющие . Лишь сила духа и воля наших дедов и бабушек и всего советского народа смогли выстоять и победить умного и хитрого врага.
      Но мы внуки всё просрали, хотя возможно ещё не всё потеряно.

    thnx to you tank museums out there making sure these beautiful pieces of machineries stay in as mint condition as we can keep them it's never an easy task repairing something from 1918-28-36-42 or even later yalls are legends for keeping this history alive

      They would have used a roll-on, roll-off ferry. They have ramps for loading vehicles like cars, tanks, superheavy construction equipment etc.....

      @@user-un8uw4sx8fT-84 is also an amazing piece of machinery and legendary. We are just appreciative of the engineering of these tanks and the history behind it. T-84 was a formidable opponent for the Tiger tankers for sure but the tiger was no less impressive as well. It is the driver and crew and cap that made it impressive in itself
      ⁠Т-84 тоже потрясающая и легендарная машина. Мы просто высоко ценим разработку этих танков и историю, стоящую за ней. Т-84, конечно, был грозным противником для танкистов «Тигр», но и «Тигр» был не менее впечатляющим. Именно водитель, экипаж и кепка сами по себе сделали его впечатляющим.

    I would break down in tears if I ever get to see a King Tiger irl, beautiful machines, props to all the men building these monsters idc what they use them for, I will still love tanks, planes and ships.

      I would say props to them yes.. but also sympathy, most late war German equipment was made with slave labor in bombed out factories across the board on equipment of all types. It’s a remarkable machine but the pain and suffering of the people that built it should be just as important when talking about the Tiger 2 or any late war German tank in general.

    Best museum in the world. Took my father in law there, he taught people to drive the Churchill in ww2. The museum was so kind to him! 😊

    Took my American friend with my 2 other buddies to see the King tiger in Parola, only because you let us borrow it for a month longer than it was supposed to. It sure as hell made it easier to deliver when there's not a whole lot of snow around.

      Что к чему? Кто-то людей в эти самые лагеря на исторические туры не пускает, или что? Что конкретно не так с тем, чтобы выставлять в музей немецкий танк? Это такая же часть истории, равно как и советские 34.
      Будущему поколению нужно демонстрировать заслуги нынешнего государства, а не продолжать укрываться событиями почти столетней давности в надежде, что все будут патриотическим духом питаться.

      Чего чего?😮 Т-34 даже поцарапать его краску не мог!
      А тигр 2 с дистанции 2000 м прошивал т-34 навылет.
      С ним бороться могли только су-100,ису-152 и ис-2.

    This tiger 2 is actually one of the Prototype Tiger 2s with Soft steel armor meant for testing purposes, and it still has the original Krupp Turret on it.

      ​@@tempest411 the museum doesn't want to put reproduction parts on the tanks it would remove them from their original state in the war. There are running examples that go to events throughout Europe and some of them are on a course for the vehicles to drive around.

      @@tempest411The problem is several things, 1 building a engine is expensive, 2 the original engine for the Tiger 2 was extremely underpowered (Hence engine trials with the now infamous SLA-16) and 3 the Tiger is so heavy, so fuel hungry, so slow and underpowered that it’s better as a static display then a moving vehicle. The Tiger 1 they have enjoys being able to run because it’s a much lighter tank then it’s cousin and it’s already a pain in of itself to deal with.

      They weigh so much they were incredibly unreliable to run originally, the maintenance would be extremely expensive probably

      Try finding first the parts needed, and than hope if you find them that they are affordable..
      Also there could be a great chance of engine failure which could damage the tank so i understand they don't wanna risk it

      not the engine is the problem, the original transmission is, was and will be. Like the running french Tiger 2 you have replace it with a "modern" reliable one.
