Yes to more skateboarding shoe reviews! Keep it coming! I don’t even skate and these NB interest me a ton.(helps I really like their running and basketball shoes)
I, for one, deeply appreciated how sensual the deep breathing was, when the review thrust their rock hard blade into the shoe fabric again and again, tearing it asunder. The editor did us all a solid by leaving it in, deeply satisfying, thumbs up.
As a non skater I have a pair of beige-black-orange and I love them so much ! Every word in this review is accurate. They did take some time to break in but worth it so much. They did got rubbed off in high lace holes area but after a simple fix they seem to last forever. Such a good all purpose day to day shoe. Thank you for the review
When your personal pair of Tiago Lemos 1010 fully wears down from skating, you can cut that one in half to see if it also has the same folded-EVA defect inside or not.
Honestly, huge props to New balance for owning up to the defect. You've embarrassed other brands numerous times in the past, so it would have been easy for them to just not talk to you at all. This is how you build trust in your brand!
By far one of the best skate shoes out. I have multiple pairs in multiple colors. They have made a significant difference in how my body feels after skating. Truly the only skate shoe I can also walk around in all day and feel fine.
I bought a pair of these looking for a hard soled shoe for mountain biking and these are by far the best pair I've owned. I'll be loyal to NB from now on.
Bought these back in 2020 with the all grey color way. I originally wanted to get back into skating, but that didn’t go so well, these have been my “Dress” shoes for going out and they still feel comfortable!
ive been skating the 808's for like 4 months and they're still not dead. The 808 has basically zero board feel but once i got used to it, it wasnt that bad. im a cupsole guy since way back though. unless i find some more clearance sale 808s im probably going to skate the 1010's next. i love the skate shoe content. hopefully it goes well for you and we get more
I've been skating my 808s for going on 2 years, although I usually only have time to skate once a week. But they're still mostly fine. Just bought a second pair to wear in with everyday use until my first pair bites the dust. Best shoe I've had, but keen to try out the 1010 at some point too
I wanna try the 1010s but I just cant get over how ugly they look to me , the 808s are the only ones ive tried and im like you I dont mind the boardfeel I grew up skating chunky shoes im used to it and prefer it
I was soooo excited when skate shoe reviews were now part of the channel. I don't skate anymore but still love seeing them dissected with the Rose Anvil twist. Keep this up 💪
having been a 90s teen, i always appreciate a good "skate shoe" just always very comfortable to wear. specially, when you got a rather broad foot, these rounder fronts where always appreciated!
Rose anvil i just wanted to give you guys a shout out for listening to your viewers! I just watched the dunk comparison video yesterday and tons of people requested you to look into this exact shoe, and here we are! Nice job!
You should definitely check out the éS Accel Slim's. Those things are incredibly well built. Triple stitched thick full suede uppers. Durable soles. I've been wearing them nearly exclusively for the past 8 years and am only just breaking in my 3rd pair now.
Best shoe I have ever skated. Have had over 10 pairs. Only real negatives are the grip (wears down super fast) and that different colorways fit differently based on the materials used. Recently went on a vigorous 10 mile hike in the 1010's and my feet we fine after. Highly recommend.
Thanks for covering the arch support! I tried to skate in them but they hurt my feet so much every session that I had to move on from them. It made me realize that I prefer flatter arched skate shoes like Emerica G6 cupsoles
Would love to see a review of the "Busenitz" pro model from Adidas. I don't think an Adidas skate shoe has been covered yet and that one is a classic. edit: it'd be cool to compare it against the asics vickka pro since they are so similar
One of the best shoes ever. I went through so many pairs of them throughout the years. I even bought a few of the vulc ones and I'm not really a vulc shoe guy
I definitely love a shoe with heel lock. My current skate shoes likes to heel-slip when I crouch (heel off the ground). I remedied that by adding a heel lock cushion-tape at the inside of the heel. It's great to see a shoe that has heel lock built in.
I was always into grippy vulc shoes for skating, but these really are the best out there. My knees and feet were suffering lately with vulcs for even smaller sessions (while using Footprint insoles) and I was blown away when first wearing these. All these issues went away and I don't even need the insoles with them. Couple pairs in, also outside of skating. Big big recommend.
NB skateboarding line was the last skate shoe i owned before i had to quit skating , hands down NB changed how i felt about shoes after 20 years of skating. id still buy them now even though i no longer skateboard
Had 3 pairs..I’m on my third pair..I have primitive X Tiago collaboration..I love this color way..I’m fighting myself to NOT skate them..but I usually skate blazer mids..I know they don’t really last long but for me it’s the best skate shoe..instant board feel..ankle protection they look cool & they’re comfortable..spacious toe box is a must..but yeah the tiagos are definitely worth the money..if you can catch them on sale..get 2 & save the other
These remind me of when I had a pair of New Balance Fire Retardant Pit Crew shoes for when I was changing tires in nascar, the wear resistance and traction of them was crazy. If you can find them I would check them out, definitely worth a video just because of how niche of an application they are and how well they performed . Specifically the ones with the spider web design on the exterior which was their 2.0 I think. Suede all around with super high overmold and the softest rubber probably ever on a shoe with a bunch of small sipes and grooves in them. Ankle strap for support and these things were a beast, plus they were fire resistant.
As soon as these shoes came out I wanted them but had to wait till I found a sale and when I got them I liked em so much i bought another pair. One to keep nice and one to destroy skating lol, Rlly glad u guys did a review of them cuz now I understand fully why they feel/skate so great.
hmm, didn't know about these. I'm not a skater but I am a mountain biker and I think these would be great biking shoes especially with that flat sole to help grip my studded platform pedals. Update: just bought a pair on New Balance's website in the rust oxide colorway for only $67.00 after tax and shipping. Can't wait to get them next Wednesday.
Great video as always. Would you guys be interested in a Etnies shoe with the Michelin outsole? Etnies Joslin for example is a shoe like that. And maybe the NB# 600, that's my current skate shoe which feels like a slimmed down version of the 1010.
These are my favorite skate shoes ever. I have 7 pairs of them in different colorways cause I like them so much. And also I always find them on sale for WAY cheaper than the retail price.
durability was deffo on another level when it comes to late 90s/eraly 2000s skate shoes.... Most of them were cupsoles and I remember It was quite common to actively skate like a 4-6 months in one pair... lot of'em had plastic protect guards on nose and 2 layers of leather...
This are my current favorite. Lasted me the longest, feels comfy af, and they look good. They were a bit heavy at first but I got used to them. My second recent favs were the Ishods, but they wore down wayy too fast.
Amazing channel! One thing I wish you did was mention the size that fits you in all these shoes. That way I’d have a better idea what to order. I don’t live near any shoe stores!
These are the kinda shoes that you could put on and then use them daily. I like that. the brown ones look like you'd take them right from the skating rink onto the construction site if it had any form of toe protection lmao might get a pair in the future. I also love new balance's commitment to wide shoes, especially making wide shoes that don't suck for narrow toe people. one thing shoe companies need to work on, feet are way wider than shoe companies give them credit and they make them kinda hard for actual wide feet people to wear, but they made it to where everyone is happy.
new balance has this ability to make really cool looking shoes but also be really good at making "dad shoes" and that's what the vibe gave me. in a good way but still.
The look very specifically reminds me of mostly closed sandals I used to own as a kid, even down to the main color. Not a fan of the look, but can make it look good if the rest of your outfit takes the vibe in a different direction, all about context. Btw. I think it's actually kind of a good idea to go cheap on very low-wear areas on skate shoes, cause the high-wear spots are so intensive you gotta replace them before the other parts even come close to failing. Each skater has their own style so it's not the same across the board at all (No pun intended), but certain spots should be safe to cheap out on
Some of the newer model SB’s would be super dope to see. The recent budget SB’s that I really like and own a few pairs of now are the Vertebrae’s. They skate great and retail for $80 before tax!
I’m looking for a good skate shoe for super flat feet. Definitely need to check these and the 808s out. Would love to see a video on the Nike SB Ishod Air Max too!
Wait a minute! Are you guys in Utah??? I’ve been watching this channel since well before you ever started cutting skate shoes. (Which I always hoped you guys would start doing because skaters use shoes in different ways than anyone else and we demand a lot from them.) love this channel! 🙏🏼
Bought the original release in 2020 and wore daily for like 2 years (non-skater). These look great even worn out, like the old chunky 2000s skate shoes.
I've had over 50 skate shoes in my life and I have to say that these are definetly the most comfortable skate shoes I ever had. Is like 2 pillows on your feet. If you want to skate them it does take some time to get used to it but then it works just fine. But no other shoe will feel bettter on your feet.
I bought a pair of these 2 years ago and I was so excited for them, ( I wear SB dunk lows religiously) so this seemed like a perfect replacement but OH MAN The toe box is SUPER NARROW AND IT IS PAIN. I really wanted to love the heck outta these but I couldn’t last a week in them..
The Tiago 1010 was the first NB shoe since childhood I picked up. I’ve bought multiple NB# and NB MiUSA/MiUK models since then. As far as the heel pods and tongue padding for the upper, the fit reminds me of a more modernized Adidas Busenitz. I do not at all agree with these feeling similar to vulcanized shoes. The boardfeel isn’t really there and I never took the time to get used to them. This is coming from someone who has skated cupsoles and vulcs since 2008. The tech, construction, and arch support are all top notch. Compared to the MADE line-up of running/lifestyle shoes, all NB# feel slim and narrow to me. I’ve had to go half a size up in a couple of shoes or at least re-lace and replace insoles in others.
They might have to work on qc a little bit, I've seen some weird looking numerics on ebay before. This only happens rarely, though. But quality review as always. And that midsole/outsole combo looks glorious. But I can't really comment on this shoe, because I have not tried it. Lemos obviously rips, though. More skate shoes! Hahaha
You should have a ranking list somewhere of what you think the best skate shoes are to give people an idea of what shoe to try next. You should also try the adidas tyshawn, i felt like those shoes lasted forever.
Man I really wanted to love Tiago's shoes. I've tried these and the 808s and while the toebox is nice and wide, the shoes are quite narrow through the middle and they would both dig into the side of my foot opposite the arch. I think them being so built up and stiff didn't help and the outsole actually rises up higher than the insole, so I think that's what was digging into me. So disappointing for an otherwise great shoe. I've got some 440s now and while they're more narrow I don't have the same issue.
So they’re so good that they changed your fundamental preference and preconceived notions about skate shoes? That’s what I just took away from this. Wide toe box, thicker material, more breakin required, more emphasis on durability and longevity vs right out of box high board feel but only 1-2 weeks of use, and stiffer cup sole vs vulcanized sole. Defect couldn’t even throw off your positive opinion. Nice 👍 I’m not even a basketball player or skater, and I’m really enjoying these deep dive series of specialty shoe niches that with other experts on the team presenting or testing Keep them up please
I would love to see "drop" included in the shoes stats list at the beginning of each video. I'm a big fan of zero (or near zero) drop shoes (but not necessarily barefoot style shoes)
All the views but where are the likes? Great video and wonder if there any long-boarders out there and if they use wide toe box shoes to skate in? I have a wide foot and nothing seems comfortable..
New Balance makes the best skate shoes, no question. My only gripe with them is that they always drop shoes from their lineup after a single season. The NM345s were my favorite skate shoe ever and they were only around for the 2018 season. They kept parts of that shoe alive in the Foy 306s and Villani 417s, but they're just not the same. They do this with all their shoes too. I love the Minumus for the gym, but they change the tech and colorway options constantly, so if you like last year's version over the current season, too bad. They're gone forever

Really like the nose-micing on the cut-in-half sequence.
Nose breating score 8.5 of 10
It was a Darth Vader cameo 😁
....."I am your leather daddy!"
New ASMR dropped.
I don't skate and this is one of my favorite shoes I've ever owned. I have two pairs and love them. So comfortable.

Found the guy who works at new balance
@@tonyp9179And? if you love and believe in the show does it matter if he works there?
Nah it’s true I can’t skate in anything else anymore. I like the 440v2
@@bluepenrose3478440 V2 is the best. I like the 306 Jamie Foy as well.
you think these shoes would be good for 12 hour shift work on hard floors? mildly outside?
I bought a pair of these looking for a hard soled shoe for mountain biking and these are by far the best pair I've owned. I'll be loyal to NB from now on.

Always liked the cut-line on the tongue for those lol. I always kept it long for like a week and then cut them.
One of the best shoes I’ve owned, Vulc and classic ones

Super solid of you to shout out your local skateshop, Time Machine. My favorite NB# skate shoe is the 480.
NB skateboarding line was the last skate shoe i owned before i had to quit skating , hands down NB changed how i felt about shoes after 20 years of skating. id still buy them now even though i no longer skateboard
I just got some for a BOGO sale along with 306s and I’m so happy I did.

I'm a big fan of the ripstop-leather combo. Might add a pair of these to my small footwear selection once my supras fall apart.

Just hopped on New Balance website and picked up some orange ones...which are super cool looking.
These are my favorite skate shoes ever. I have 7 pairs of them in different colorways cause I like them so much. And also I always find them on sale for WAY cheaper than the retail price.
This is exactly why I suggested this model for review. Next up should be the Tiago 808!
im on my 2 pair and they are legit amazing to skate
Super great shoes. I picked up a pair on sale and took a gamble. Super happy with their durability and build quality.
durability was deffo on another level when it comes to late 90s/eraly 2000s skate shoes.... Most of them were cupsoles and I remember It was quite common to actively skate like a 4-6 months in one pair... lot of'em had plastic protect guards on nose and 2 layers of leather...
I'm very happy with my Altama Maritime Assault shoes, good grip, comfortable enough, discreet and quite sturdy for what they're.
This are my current favorite. Lasted me the longest, feels comfy af, and they look good. They were a bit heavy at first but I got used to them. My second recent favs were the Ishods, but they wore down wayy too fast.
Emerica skate shoes. More specifically the newer pairs with the pour in G6 cupsoles. Examples would be the "KSL G6". Absolutely love those shoes!
The g6 is a pretty decent insole… didn’t know they were making midsoles out of that stuff too
Honestly going to ask for a pair for Christmas 🎄
Thank you for the review dudes!
New balance has always made the highest quality sneakers imo. From the materials to the craftsmanship. Always A1
Would love to see the Vans AVE 2.0 for another technical skate shoe breakdown.
Amazing channel! One thing I wish you did was mention the size that fits you in all these shoes. That way I’d have a better idea what to order. I don’t live near any shoe stores!
Yes please, do the Asics Flexkee 2 next! Also Nike PS8 and éS Accel OG!
These are the kinda shoes that you could put on and then use them daily. I like that. the brown ones look like you'd take them right from the skating rink onto the construction site if it had any form of toe protection lmao
might get a pair in the future.

I love these videos, can we get a series on Motorcycle boots, please?
Good idea. There are a bunch out there and are pretty pricy. Then you order a pair sight unseen and you see where they used cheap-o materials
I saw you chop up some 996s and bought em they are great as suggested.
Some of the newer model SB’s would be super dope to see. The recent budget SB’s that I really like and own a few pairs of now are the Vertebrae’s. They skate great and retail for $80 before tax!
I’m glad y’all do skate shoes!
I've been skating since 84. My feet hurt so badly from wearing vans for 35 years. I switched five years ago to NB, and my feet feel so much better.
The new guy just explained everything so well I can tell ya'll about to have a new host🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Rose anvil is my guilty pleasure. Please keep doing skateshoes
really loving the skate shoe videos! I would love to see you guys cut an osiris D3 in half
When you're done with the pair you bought it would be interesting to see if the green folded mistake is in those as well.
don't know too much about the shoe, but Tiago is a BEAST
I’m looking for a good skate shoe for super flat feet. Definitely need to check these and the 808s out.
Would love to see a video on the Nike SB Ishod Air Max too!
No wides is a bummer. I became a New Balance fan because they offer wides in just about everything
Great video, found of recommendation algorithm, new subscriber and honestly you probably also just sold me a pair of shoes.
Don't skate. But got two pair of these. The orange pair you showed were 38% off on black Friday.
This was a good one. Love my 1010s and will rock with them until the Reynolds pro model comes out.
Let’s see the numeric and regular 480 comparison. ❤
Big ups to NB for being honest.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS.
You should cut open the 2nd pair that you bought (once you’re done skating them) to see if factory defect in sole
I would love to see you guys take apart a pair of high top Patrick Ewings and to see what is your general opinion about the shoes
Did you know that “iPath” is back? They deserve your review.
The Nike SB ps8 look interesting and they're the only company I can think of that's putting a spring/stability plate in their non running shoes
I bought a pair of these 2 years ago and I was so excited for them, ( I wear SB dunk lows religiously) so this seemed like a perfect replacement but OH MAN
The toe box is SUPER NARROW AND IT IS PAIN. I really wanted to love the heck outta these but I couldn’t last a week in them..
I’d like to see a video about the Rocky legacy 32 steel toe western work boot
Congrats on 1 Mill subs 👍👍
I’ve had to go half a size up in a couple of shoes or at least re-lace and replace insoles in others.
man, you should do a regular nb 480 vs a numeric 480, seems like numeric one has many improvements
That is going to happen for sure I think, or at least a standalone numerics 480 video.
Great idea, hope they do the 480 regular vs. 480 Numeric
Best shoes out there!!!!
Great video!!
For the next shoe, please do a review of the Nike SB React Leo Baker. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was wondering why the fuel cell defect was being censored near the end before I realized it must've matched your green screen filters.
Like to see 808 Tiago Lemos compared because been debating between the two
Why are the pink bits of the sole blurred at 17:20?
They might have to work on qc a little bit, I've seen some weird looking numerics on ebay before. This only happens rarely, though. But quality review as always. And that midsole/outsole combo looks glorious. But I can't really comment on this shoe, because I have not tried it. Lemos obviously rips, though. More skate shoes! Hahaha
Next time I won't clip the mic to my nose for the cutting
😂😂😂

Looks like great shoes for running inside lasertag arena…🤔
THx for the review!
14:39 wouldn't ya know it. Ripstop freaking works.😅 Definitely made you work for that cut.
When I see other people pop up doin a video, most of the time im disappointed, Home boy did a great job though. Great job!
You should have a ranking list somewhere of what you think the best skate shoes are to give people an idea of what shoe to try next. You should also try the adidas tyshawn, i felt like those shoes lasted forever.
Can we get a review on some ès skateboarding shoes, the muskas, or the OG accels .
Ive been trying to tell people that they’re really good !
I've got some 440s now and while they're more narrow I don't have the same issue.
off topic but i would love to see a video on the limmer hiking boot line and possibly how they compare with other vintage hikers
awesome review, thanks for the honesty. i'm just hoping there are some tastier colorways.
Nice 👍
I’m not even a basketball player or skater, and I’m really enjoying these deep dive series of specialty shoe niches that with other experts on the team presenting or testing
Keep them up please
You should do a video on the Thursday Journeyman!
The 1010’s are my favourite sneakers of the last 5 years.
