Cap, don't know if anyone has suggested this but seeing as everyone could use some laughter. I suggest/challenge you and RC to do a review on Hot Shots 1991. You pick the scenes.
Because radio waves in radars have much longer wavelengths than visible light, you need huge aperture sizes to get comparable resolutions. There is a yet another technique that allows to "gather up" the aperture, measuring the returns along a certain trajectory of the radiating aircraft, called Aperture Synthesis (ever heard of SAR?), but it's only good for static targets and the SAR platform itself needs to have means of measuring its time and coordinates *very* precisely. This is the kind of image you can get with a Synthetic Aperture Radar: www.lockheedmartin.com/content/dam/lockheed-martin/rms/photo/synthetic-aperture-radar/Synthetic-Aperture-Radar.jpg.pc-adaptive.full.medium.jpeg Apparently, Doppler Beam Sharpening should provide significantly worse imagery.
Hi there cap! I plan on making my own tutorial on planes in DCS. The format will probably be similar with yours (just not in English). I will publish it if it's ok for you. Stay safe everyone:)
Would it be possible in the future when expand modes 1,2,3 are added to have fog and clouds and still have a good image from the radar? FLIR obviously can't do that...
I dont seem to be able to switch to r/bl mode. I've taken off, have the lightening pod and flir on and run up, the harpoon selected and armed, but cannot change from bol to r/bl for some reason. Might I be missing something? EDIT: Realised I needed to have a target designated to then switch the missile mode.
The phenomenon you're talking about is called radar shadow, since it basically is an object blocking the radiation from reching behind it, just like a "normal" shadow ;)
I was so intimidated by the Hornet when I first got it, but your tutorials have helped me so much. Thank you!
The Kusnetzovs' smoke column is so big, that you don't need a radar to spot it.
lol
Love these tutorials. Right to the point and presented in plain language.
Man I love the No Bullshit To the point tutorial. None of this long winded “sub to my channel” blah
That being said, I subbed. Thanks Cap
nice, but Harpoons still do no damage.
I am recommend ED are expedite Harpoon undamage correction
I've use the ground radar and been able to spot large ships at sea- but you have to turn the gain to max.
The gain changes only the brightness of your screen, the radar can't see it better.
@@schweizerluchs7146 Level Changes brightness, gain changes contrast
This would make for some cool battles in the Pacific Map
The image in the ground radar looks like ultrasonography of a compact intrabdominal organ ,in medical terms.
the amount of people saying first is crazy L I S T E N nobody cares if your the first person to view a video or the last none cares!!

Thank you my friend are vigilance
They just have nothing to be proud of. Sadly, it's indicative of their future ability to gain something to be proud of too..

So I'm guessing until EXP 1,2, and 3 are implemented it'll be pretty hard seeing ground targets huh?
especially when your feet are dry
Yeah, it's real value for the moment is getting your TPod looking in the right area when you can't slew it visually or off a steerpoint eg. at night.
correct

I feel less dumb because of your videos. That is solid achievement

Roger have fun!
You can hold down the depress to freze the picture and accuratly asign a target
nice
Yeeeees. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. I can finally use the maximum range on the harpoons!
You guys r awesome like honestly
damaged 0 percent don t know why they re so inefective
because its an aircraft carrier
Cap, can you test if the A-G radar works if somebody is right in front of your nose. It should be blocking, right?
Will try tonight but 99% sure will make no different.
Although it's a work in progress, has potential.

we'll have to wait and see I guess.

"Telegraph poles"
it is ww1
,yea I tried this it's difficult without sea search
Great video! Good explained! Thank you
Hi you can do a tutorial on how to use the current TGP to shoot 4 mavericks on 4 moving targets on F / A18 THANKS

@@grimreapers because it's possible? IR mavs I guess laser will not work??
dont know what im.missing.. i can release bombs, a2a miissiles, but those wont release.
Is it still only on early access? Or is available in standard version of DCS?
Not sure I only have Open Beta sorry
Is this currently implemented in OB? I cannot get the RBL Mode in the Harpoon page. Only shows BOL mode.
yup OB
@@grimreapers You got a differrent ver. mate. Mine does not have RBL mode when I click Mode in Harpoon Page.
@@grimreapers Ok Got It. Earlier I was unable move to the RBL mode. Thanks for the video.
Sorry If I’m rong but does the Viper have this to? Ore wil it ever have it?
yup later

Radar isn't a video camera it doesn't see shadows those "shadows" are radar blind spots as there is something that doesn't let the signal go through
