    Now about today's video on how to crossover:
    The crossover is an awesome move and one that so many players have no idea on how to execute in a way that is actually going to get their defender off balance.
    In today's video I show you the exact progression I put my players through so that they can actually start executing this move.
    I've tried to teach how to crossover in basketball for many years and I've tried many different things, but this for some reason seams to work the best.

    Hey Augie Love your videos I have a question.
    How do I get past someone who is guarding me close enough to make me uncomfortable shooting but at the same time does not jump on any of my moves(seems stationary).
    I feel like it would be a good idea on making a video on what types of moves players should do depending on the style of defending(aka:giving space, aggressive, not jumping) etc.

      no cause he didn't pick up his dribble are carry

    • @cmack17
      @cmack17 8 лет назад +5

      In slow motion, it is definitely a travel/carry. He is putting his hand under the ball for demostration purposes.
      At real speed, it IS NOT a travel/carry. His hand never goes under the ball in real time.
      I left a message asking him to discuss hand position during these blow by moves and how to position the hands to pick up into a smooth shot off the dribble.

    Hey, can you show us some clips of you using these moves in a game? I feel like crossing people is sort of an organic art form, and a lot of times, learning how and when to use certain moves is half the battle. So it would be great if at the end of your videos you had a clip of you using the move in a game, not like a tutorial-make-believe game, but like an actual pickup game where the other side's trying to win. I think that's the only thing missing fro your videos that would make them perfect.

    Awesome Aug-man! So many other "you tube" coaches just show off that they can do the move and then say practice this leaving us to slave over countless replays in slow motion of what the hell they are doing and why does it seem so easy for them. You on the other hand, are always teaching us the moves in increments, breaking down the very important footwork and showing what we can practice on in stages to eventually get the entire killer move. A gym full of thanks from those of us who need more guidance and specifics.

    That three step stutter goes against everything I've known. It feels like I'm traveling and my brain won't let me. I feel as if I do that in a pick up game they're going to call it.

    • @BallerBootCamp
      @BallerBootCamp  8 лет назад

      A stutter step is not a travel. Matter of fact if anything it would be called as a carry. The way I demonstrate it, yeah it's a carry. But you should be chopping your feet faster then that into a stutter which won't be a carry.

      I cannot believe that isn't a carry, to be honest. Had to stop watching, I don't want to pick up bad habits.
      Now I know what Phil Jackson meant by kids learning stuff like this today.
      All I know is, if anyone does that chicken head thing with their neck, I know that they are doing a crossover 😂

      The way I'm doing it in the video, maybe yes it could get called for a carry, but normally your stutter should be faster and an actual stutter, I'm just trying to show you in the video the steps of the stutter.

      @BallerBootCamp  8 лет назад

      Watch it when I do it full speed at 3:46. You'll see that if you do it full speed it's not a carry. YES, i carried in the half speed demo, but if you do it right it's not a carry. You have to get those feet chopping.
