Now about today's video on how to crossover:
The crossover is an awesome move and one that so many players have no idea on how to execute in a way that is actually going to get their defender off balance.
In today's video I show you the exact progression I put my players through so that they can actually start executing this move.
I've tried to teach how to crossover in basketball for many years and I've tried many different things, but this for some reason seams to work the best.
I hope you liked the video and if you did please click like, share it with someone, AAANNNNDDD....

please train me augie jhonston
I'm liking these recent uploads👍
Thanks bro. I've been working hard lately on this stuff.
Nice video. I like these in depth breakdowns. I always felt like my footing was off with the crossover since I didn't have good explosion.
Thanks
+Baller Boot Camp could u make a program with working on only go to moves with certain amount of reps for each I need help with blowing by people and in a program form I feel I could get better
HI Jay, that's a good idea. I'd like to put something like that together.
+Baller Boot Camp ok thanks
please upload dribbling drills for me
Best crossover detailed video I've ever seen.👌🏻👍🏻🏀⛹🏼⛹🏼
Who else got faked by just watching it ??
lol
Hey Augie Love your videos I have a question.
How do I get past someone who is guarding me close enough to make me uncomfortable shooting but at the same time does not jump on any of my moves(seems stationary).
I feel like it would be a good idea on making a video on what types of moves players should do depending on the style of defending(aka:giving space, aggressive, not jumping) etc.
Wouldn't the 1-2-3 crossover be a travel?
no cause he didn't pick up his dribble are carry
In slow motion, it is definitely a travel/carry. He is putting his hand under the ball for demostration purposes.
At real speed, it IS NOT a travel/carry. His hand never goes under the ball in real time.
I left a message asking him to discuss hand position during these blow by moves and how to position the hands to pick up into a smooth shot off the dribble.
Thats what I thought
+Tyrese Ward you can take as many steps as you want when dribbling
+BBALL BEATTIE no
hey baller boot camp I know how to do this but how can I be fast and explosive to blow by a defender because I am struggling in this
You have to work on your agility.
good moves try some tips on center position
Hey, can you show us some clips of you using these moves in a game? I feel like crossing people is sort of an organic art form, and a lot of times, learning how and when to use certain moves is half the battle. So it would be great if at the end of your videos you had a clip of you using the move in a game, not like a tutorial-make-believe game, but like an actual pickup game where the other side's trying to win. I think that's the only thing missing fro your videos that would make them perfect.
Crossover too high
Ok, thanks coach
Timothy Joseph Javier ur right
I'm watching your vids and practicing your drills every day to do better this upcoming season. I'm glad I found your channel.
try a skip hesi in and out. I break ankles with that one , used it when I played in high school. simple to learn and a great go to
I'm having trouble with the skip/Hesi dribble to the scissors looking move :( the footwork is hard for me. But I'll keep practicing. Thanks!
This is a great step by step breakdown.
Can you speak on the hand position on the ball and how that leads into the shot off the dribble? Specifically how to avoid fumbling the ball from dribble to shot and from hesi/(fake shot pickup) to attack.
Not bad bruh! Keep it com in!
Thanks.
Baller Boot Camp could you please do old skool 90's crossover moves breakdown that be great help ?
Wouldnt that be travelling? The three step crossover??
your feet can step add many times as possible as long as you don't hold the ball
Hex Productionz not true
Games Online TV completely true. You do know what a stutter step is right?
Idk,maybe
Search it up and come back
Iverson doesn't add a jab step to his cross over. youtube the iverson crossover breakdown.
very good simple basic skill. thanks.
Aye man i never knew how deadly that first move was until it was used on me. Being flashy is not needed.
could you please breakdown "the skip"
you should do video on the perspective of a coach. run plays like the pick and roll etc.
Great idea. I don't know exactly how that would look though.
+Baller Boot Camp I look down a lot when i dribble any tips plz thank you
KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK BRO. THIS SHIT IS AMAZING
React to Gabe de Guzman musicallys
I need help with basketball
Awesome videos bro I've already purchased your handles vid loving it so far. One request more fundamental dribbling techniques and more overall fundamental ball for us intermediate players. Thank you and God bless Baller Bootcamp more!
Hi, Thanks for supporting. Great idea too about the Intermediate.
how do you use a head fake when you crossover
I appreciate this but 3 steps is a travel.
Awesome Aug-man! So many other "you tube" coaches just show off that they can do the move and then say practice this leaving us to slave over countless replays in slow motion of what the hell they are doing and why does it seem so easy for them. You on the other hand, are always teaching us the moves in increments, breaking down the very important footwork and showing what we can practice on in stages to eventually get the entire killer move. A gym full of thanks from those of us who need more guidance and specifics.
Glad you appreciate it!
Great job Augie... 👌👍
Can you please do an in depth on either the behind the back crossover or the spin move?
Yeah I can do the behind the back. I have the spin move done twice on my channel. use the search tool to find them.
should you make your back straight when dribbling? why?
no not necessarily.
That three step stutter goes against everything I've known. It feels like I'm traveling and my brain won't let me. I feel as if I do that in a pick up game they're going to call it.
A stutter step is not a travel. Matter of fact if anything it would be called as a carry. The way I demonstrate it, yeah it's a carry. But you should be chopping your feet faster then that into a stutter which won't be a carry.
no double dribble?
Nope, you have to be careful carrying the ball though.
Great video but it's very hard with the footwork. Can you help me with footwork?
Check out all my videos. I talk about footwork a lot.
great vid...too many talented kids that dont learn the little details...learn from augie kids!
Thanks!
isn't the stutter a travel?
I am a beginner and my handles aren't too great. At the moment I am struggling with the behind the back move. Please make a video on it.
ok, I def will!
+baller boot camp thank you so much I remember I had no ball handling skills now I'm the best
nice
Where are you born what countrie were you born augie
Born in Seattle, I live in Cali now.
more shifty moves
Best crossover tutorial i've seen. Finally i can understand how to do it. Yea i'm a bit slow and old school. For this, u deserve my sub! 😊
This helped a lot
Augie, please break down the hang dribble please.
Ok, will do
can you make more advanced point guard training videos??
Sure will.
Some tips on how to use a screen please! Like how to drive the defender into it and then what options there are after you do so!
ok thanks for the recommendation.
The three step cross looks like travel
It's not.
I got called travelling for stutter stepping? is it illegal?
Travel? It's not a travel unless you pick the ball up. Maybe a carry but def not a travel.
Great video a lot of people don't really use the footwork to teach this
thanks I appreciate that.
Tried the load up skip for the first time playing 1v1 against my older brother. I got him with the cross fake, but I didn't knock down the elbow shot. But I do understand the concept of how to make my crossover shifty.
Not to be weird or anything but how old are you?
NICE!
Thank you so much coach 😢. Alwys wanted to learn these moves.
please upload some of your games... we would love to see how and when you apply these crossovers
thanks!
my jumpsuit looks awkward in that I hold the ball for balance with my left hand in the front of the ball instead of on the left (i'm right handed). I'm not an awful shooter, especially when I've hit a few in a row, but I'm not all that either. whenever I've tried having my left hand on the left it feels off. any suggestions?
shoot with ur left
Triple B make sure you shoot with even balance, grip the ball correctly and follow through
He's like rapping at the start of the video 😂
bars
Thanks for the video, going to practice these moves to cross out my boys.
nice video

Can you show how to do a shammgod crossover?
Honestly I dont even know how to do it.
Best crossover vid you've posted!
Thanks, I think so too.
can you do a video about how to defend in the post
Sure
THnk you soo much :) God bless
WELCOME!
nice
Thanks bro good video,
Your welcome thanks for watching and commenting.
isn't the third one a travel??
The way I demo it yes, but you need to find a way to speed it up. When you watch me go full speed I didn't carry. But it's just one clip that's slowed down.
Are those D Lillard 2's?
YEP!
Excellent breakdown
thanks
I have a question, please reply, but wouldn't the stutter step be a travel?
The way I demo it, it could be called as a carry. But normally you should stutter faster with choppy steps therefore the balls in your hand for less time.
Ok thanks.
awsm!!
Good video nice quality!
thanks
The move is very effective but it kinda looks like a travel coach ):
Yeah you have to be careful. I was def exaggerating sometimes too much with this.
Baller Boot Camp lol you taught me something tho so thanks a lot Coach !! you seem like a very cool guy
What ball is this?
Its the Wilson Solution
Thank you! this is so handy
Welcome!
Is that studder a travel
I cannot believe that isn't a carry, to be honest. Had to stop watching, I don't want to pick up bad habits.
Now I know what Phil Jackson meant by kids learning stuff like this today.
All I know is, if anyone does that chicken head thing with their neck, I know that they are doing a crossover 😂
---------
I'd like a breakdown of how to crossover behind the back, please. Without carrying.
+1Flyingfist a carry is when Ur hand goes underneath the ball and u start dribbling again. That is what the reference in my Rep league told me.
+1Flyingfist you know there doing a crossover but you still can t guard them cause you weak
The way I'm doing it in the video, maybe yes it could get called for a carry, but normally your stutter should be faster and an actual stutter, I'm just trying to show you in the video the steps of the stutter.
Watch it when I do it full speed at 3:46. You'll see that if you do it full speed it's not a carry. YES, i carried in the half speed demo, but if you do it right it's not a carry. You have to get those feet chopping.
your channel inspires me to continue grinding on my channel
Great to hear!
can u look at my channel and give me tips on how to grow it..or possibly feature my channel
I think that's a travel
If anything it's a carry.
Great vid by the way!
thnx
What are those 😂😂😂😂
Those are the Dlillard 2's
Can u help me with my cut crossover
whats a cut cross?
+Baller Boot Camp when u go behind the back
Coach,I'm a beginner.I want to ask you some questions. What is the difference between drills and workout?Another question is what is post-workout?I have mess uo with these.
Hey man, a workout is a collection of drills that you can do , for example, in one workout, there could be shooting drills, handling drills etc. Post workout is simply 'after the workout' hope that helps
Looks like James answered you correctly, thanks James.
+James D'Angelo ok,thanks
+Baller Boot Camp ok,coach.
+James D'Angelo i got another question to ask you.what is the meaning of routine in basketball. If i have a ball handling workout, does it means your all progress is only about ball handling only, does it right?
That carry tho
The way I demonstrate it, yeah it's a carry. But you should be chopping your feet faster then that into a stutter which won't be a carry.
awesome vid
thanks!
Thanks a lot

Isnt it too short
+yashaswi shrestha height doesn't matter skill does. Height just makes it easier but that never stopped a lot of NBA players.
