- Today I am joined by Uncle Dane and we are getting one of the few achievements that he is missing. If he is missing it, then I definitely am so we are both attempting to get it for each other. To unlock this achievement, a Heavy has to get 5 kills without breaking the beam from the engineer's dispenser. What makes it hard is there are a lot of things that can break the beam. If the heavy gets pushed off, or a spy saps it, or splash damage for example. Enjoy!

I can’t believe how well you two work together, like you make such different content but then you get on call together and it just works so naturally well
TF2 achievements are a strange enigma that make you go "in all my years... how do I not have this yet?", especially the more you look at them.
After all these years, with the knowledge I have, I perfectly understand why I don't have the achievements that I don't have.
Like this one. Would you expect a Heavy to ever plant himself onto a dispenser, not move away even once, and get five kills without him or the dispenser dying? It just doesn't happen.
@@Thornskade yeah, each class has its own stupidly specific or downright luck based achievements.
- Scout having to kill 3 people while being ubercharged, get an environmental kill with the sandman, or having to "stun" 2 medics ready to deploy an ubercharge with the sandman.
- Soldier having to parachute for a REALLY long distance, having to trade airbone kills with another soldier, especially on snakewater, and having to buff 5 friends at the same time with a sigle buff baner
- Pyro having to light 3 people on fire with the rainblower's taunt kill, having to light a player doing the flippin awesome taunt, or lighting up a spy doing the disguise kit taunt
- Demoman having to destroy 5 engineers building with a single ubercharge, parachuting for a really long distance, or killing a charging demoman while also charging himself
- Heavy having to kill 10 people while both him and his medic don't die, having to kill 50 people underwater or having to stop an ubered heavy-medic pair from pushing the payload while being ubered himself
- Engineer having to kill 3 cloaked spies with his sentry gun or having to block over 500 damage with a wrangled sentry
- Medic having to ASSIST ANOTHER MEDIC into killing 3 people without both of them dying at any point, having to help a heavy kill 10 people without dying or assisting a scout to kill 3 people while ubering him.
- Sniper having to kill over 25 players using the parachute with a CRITICAL HEADSHOT specifcally, having to kill a demoman while he's sticky jumping with the classic, with a headshot, UNSCOPED, or the worst of all: having to gib all 9 classes in a single match using the Classic.
- Spy having to backstab a scout using the back scatter or backstab an enemy and then the medic that was healing him right after, within 10 seconds of each other
and that's not even considering the map specific, general achievements or the broken ones like the replay achievements. Honestly TF2 is probably the last game people should care to achievement hunt because some of those are downright stupid, but who am I to judge?
@@naoaquieopatrickpatrick8565 Most of these aren't as bad as a lot of people assume. The Buff Banner one is free if you play Soldier in MvM with five friends, killing three people as two Medics is a classic Überchain strat, killing people underwater as Heavy just play 2Fort and Well, gibbing all classes as Sniper, just play 2Fort.
A lot of the other achievements you mention will just be obtained randomly by playing if you dom't think about it, it's just how it goes in TF2
The replay achievements can be obtained by editing a file from one of your replays. Some may consider it cheating but up to you how see it
Mainly the genuinely bad ones are the RNG-based like the Pyro rainblow taunt one being essentially impossible unless you ask friends for help, in which case I guess it's easy, or RPS which have a 1/750 chance or so each which just take ages. Achievement hunting is possible with almost all of these if you ask friends for help, but personally I'll stick to getting them through gameplay because that's more fun and then you can look back at them with a story to tell

Finally, what we've all waited for, Fatmagic and Uncle Dane taking turns being the sentry. It's nice to see fatmagic put some time into a lesser played class rather than his over 1k hours on sniper, lol.

I remember going on 2fort, placing a dispenser in the balcony, and in less than 5 seconds I got 5+ heavies spitting hellfire on the enemy team.

This is an achievement that I thought was pretty easy to get back in 2011. And I always distinctly remembered a STAR_ video where he had trouble getting past a Heavy in the 2Fort intel room who was hugging a dispenser for two of his lives. I was new to the game a thought this is something that Heavies do sometimes, hugging dispensers and getting kills.
11 years and 7k hours later, I still don't have this achievement. Turns out Heavies don't typically hug dispensers during normal gameplay, and I never asked a friend to help me out with it. Crazy how deceptive that achievement has been to me.
Its just very finiky. If you even barely break the beam it resets. Also some spots just don't work at all and sometimes it just seems to randomly fail.
I honestly think heavy is the most fun and chill class to play when your team is decent or at least kills the spies and the enemy doesn't have really good spies/snipers but I guess it can go to every class

I feel like I accidentally gave a engineer this achievement because on my first time playing tf2 I picked heavy and sat on top of a dispenser and fired for like 5 minutes straight

I've heard of an MvM strat where it's just Heavies and Engineers, in a similar way to that used in the video - Biological Sentries moving where they need to be, Engineers building dispensers at the Heavies and keeping them topped up.

The stupid part is how it has to be 5 consecutive kills without ever breaking the beam. It should just be 5 kills in one life, with the same dispenser.

You need to load a local server first, then they'll work in casual

@@rel8ble871 Yes, and it doesn't need to be a comunity server, you can launch your own server then close it
you can also load a testmap then join q match. theres a way to automatically do it when you start the game, if you watch a tutorial on downloading them it should be towards the end
