Sounds like NASCAR is turning into a hockey game, where you need the fights to keep it interesting. That being said, I do miss the old rules - race back to yellow, most points wins w/out playoffs, etc..

Great show you guys c= always enjoy watching you two. I'd say the time the US spent in the war on terror, at least from a military capability development standpoint, might not be as wasteful as it might seem. The military developed a lot of capabilities and gained valuable experience with the use of precision force for example, which can definitely be leveraged even in any hypothetical mid-level or great power conflict by adjacent systems, but also in terms of avoiding collaterals which is likely to be as important not only from a human standpoint but also for the overall readiness and willingness for support of the military as well as how its seen by allies, and potential allies that are also increasingly important in any possible major conflict
And it might be contentious but the US definitely gained a substantial foothold in that region from the whole thing which have been very crucial in securing partnerships and enforcing lawful rules-based international order between states
They should have made a COD-replacement from old Vikings. There was a plan to do so and the airframe was to be shared with a tanker.

Gonky you are wrong about the V-22 and the F-35 engine. One of the key reasons why they chose the V-22 is because it CAN carry an F-35 engine. Also the V-22 has a longer range than the C-2 so it does have advantages

Doug, ATS does a decent job simulating backing and it's very pretty. The other stuff it's more sketchy but still a lot of fun. I haven't tried it in vr yet, I probably should.

Great show as always. I took a friend to see the blue angels as she had never seen a film in IMAX before. She was very impressed but as we came out of the cinema she said," Doc was nice wasn’t she" the camera did like her 😂
She’s really young too. I looked up her bio. Graduated high school in 2008. Graduated from (osteopathic) medical school in 2016, got her flight surgeon wings in 2018, and was selected for the Blue Angels in 2020. Heck, I know a doctor who was still a resident 4 years out of medical school. She was around 32 during the filming of the documentary.
Hey guys, hope Gonky (and his daughter) feels better soon. The YAL-1 laboratory (747F) proved it could track and fire, the problem was with the laser. It was not a solid-state or electrical laser, it was chemical, a soup of iodine, chlorine and a few other chemicals, and when combined in the right way, tremendous IR would result. The problem with THAT was the farther away you were, the attenuation of an IR laser sucked. We're talking a few hundred miles or so.
That F-16 demo aircraft had the GE motor (F110-GE-129), you can easily tell by the nozzle. So your second guess, Block 50 was probably closest, although the transition from 40 to 50 was in 1991. I was part of the beddown team for upgrading PACAF from the Block 15's to the Block 30's, all GE motors in 1986 to 1988.

I been hearing for months about the type 003 but from whom I was hearing it from were saying it was just a standard carrier that might have the tech and abilities now that we had back in the 70's and 80's. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a drone carrier or other uses.
I hope Claud Fergusons' world is less shity today, be well whoever u are. I use helicopter IMC rules when i feel lost in woods, i turn around and backtrack lol. I dont feel the 56second pressure though that might for an interesting hike

F-16 mishap: If this happened on takeoff, then why didn't the FLCS built in test (BIT) catch the dual failure? Pilot refuse to run the BIT (required before takeoff)?

i used to fly with a group of people in Microsfot flight simulator 2004 or X, my name was Meso and i flew FS9. Hnece the MesoFs9 tag here. we flew (arm chair flying) with a group of people on sunday with the A2A simulations P-51D. it was in 2005-2007 time frame. and one of the people in the group his brother owned "Double Trouble two" and he actually send me a picture which he took in formation with a group of other mustangs incuding the "Old Crow" from Bud Anderson. i could only imagine how it must have been to fly a real P51
