Why is there so much hate about this video? It's the man's life, he can do what he wants with it. If he decides to make an amazing 3 year trip to 36 countries and document it all in a creative way, then let him do it. And those of you calling him a showoff, what are you doing with your life? If anything, this video inspired me to do more with my life when I finish school instead of sitting in a cubicle for the rest of my life.
I can honestly state I've never taken a picture of myself without a group of friends around. Or someone else taking a photo of me. Then again I grew up when kodak was a thing and phones didn't have these wonderful camera devices.
Your video inspired me to travel the world. From 2018-2020 I traveled around the world with my severance pay from my old employer, some savings and with a small backpack. The experience was great and today I still love backpacking to other countries and cultures. Thank you for the courage, without the video I might never have fulfilled my dream.
You have no idea how inspirational this video you have created is... You've brought a smile to my face and I honestly can only dream of making something half as good as this. :) great job! From envious viewer
Happy 10th Anniversary To This Wonderful Travel Video Special!!! This video really opens your eyes to the world, I watched this video like two years ago when I was 19 it's crazy how my mind state and priorities can be impacted so greatly in the space of 6 minutes. This guy has really lived life correctly, he's blessed to of had the experience, great video!

6 countries 600 days 5 motorcycles 125,946 miles driven. But how much did it cost for this trip? That's what everyone is wondering.....and if you go again, bring me!
bicycle touring. sleep for free and cook your own food and pay zero for transportation. 5 bucks a day to survive and travel the world! research and go!!!!
timgoat556 Yeah I've seen people do that, it's possible and probably the best option. But all the visa, scubadiving, ash-boarding, animal-visting stuff cost a lot.
Just document your trip with a blog/Facebook/twitter/pinterest/etc.Monetize your traffic with ads and sponsors, and bam, you're banking way more than you spend on your trip.
I made over $20k in IM working 30 minutes a day (not every day) and I blew it all on partying, expensive tech and to help my family out... Then I discovered my true passion in life and it involves traveling around the world, save your money people, fuck new phones and big screen tvs, mine is collecting dust at the moment and I rarely use it, save up, do something you'll remember your whole life. I'm 22 now, I started working again, I have an awesome 2 to 5 year plan, I will SAVE EVERY PENNY and work like never before! I will literally attempt to change the world when I quit working, every person I have said this to by now either laughed their asses to my face and told me to grow up, or they just objectively started explaining how impossible this is, that shit talk really messed up my motivation, but when I just imagine how it will feel when I prove them wrong... omg :)
Good to hear that, man :) I'm originally from Sweden but I'm currently working in Norway to save up for a trip like this. I think I'll need 1-2 year more of savings. I did however spend my first savings on expensive computers and video cameras, but that's because I've got a passion for film making as well. And I'm planning to do a video out of my entire trip similar to this one. :)
Niclas Holmsten I ain't doing it to prove it to them, but it will be very enjoyable :) And Niclas bro I hope we both succeed in our dreams to travel, hey when you make that video in years come back here and comment reply to me :D
Maslac Turcinston How do you make that much...? I only want that much money to travel around the world and use it to push my ideas on how to help society...
Careful who you Share your Dreams with.. if they aren't getting what they want they will probably try to bring you to their Level. That Being Said, Go Do it Man, You have my Support
It always depends. Travelling doesn't cost a lot if you don't need to sleep in 5-stars hotel every night, and travel in the 1st class of the plane. Travelling can actually be pretty cheap. If you take a low-cost plane, take ony a bag on your back and a motorcycle, sleep under a bridge and eat with local people, you can have the most wonderful trip ever for nearly nothing.
How much would that cost though, I dont understand how someone could travel so much but not have a job, i mean im not saying he hasnt got a job, but how could someone travel so much with a job. I literally want to do this soo bad, but i feel like my financial situation wouldnt be the best due to not working :( somebody tell me how this can be possible :(
I've been traveling round the world for 5 years now. Apply for working abroad, stay in cheap hostels/couch surf, learn to love rice and pasta and cheap beer. Works best if your single! In hostels you meet loads of people from other countries you can visit and use them for there couches :D
devon sawatzky Hey mate, sounds like you're having a great time. I'm currently looking for a job, plan to save up for the next year or two and then travel for as long as I can (presuming I enjoy it which I will) How much did you start out with?
Benzh for Europe I started out with $2000 CAD, then got a job at a hostel for free accomodation. Once your over there flights are dirt cheap (check skyscanner) £20-50 if you really search. When I went to Australia I had $300 CAD, haha! Loads of couches to sleep on though. Just look ahead for working abroad and your set. The scariest part is leaving your comfort zone, but its sooo worth it. Be sure to stay in hostels for part of the time, as everyone there is in the same crazy situation as you. Great place to meet exciting women too!
dude living at home with rent, car payments, insurance, gas, heating, electricity, and going out every weekend is way more expensive. traveling is cheap!
timgoat556 When you are traveling you still have to pay insurance, gas, car payments and rent. Unless you want to return from your trip with nothing to help you back into your daily life. Besides, there are a lot of expenses in the trip: motorcycle, motorcycle repairs, gear, food, lodging, GAS. etc
This is great, but... anyone else feel that if they did this much traveling in this short time period that they would feel a little jaded? Like, one country would blend into the next, and you wouldn't be able to retain vivid memories of each location because it didn't really get a chance to sink in. I think time between travel allows you to reflect on the experience and to better appreciate it.
From experience, you are completely right, but I guess this is 36 countries over 600 days, spending over two weeks on average in each country should allow for enough down time. I much prefer settling and working (or in my case studying) in different countries for a much longer period of time. Richer experience for me. Great video though!
Have you ever heard of low cost airlines? Paying for plane ticket nowadays can be as cheap as paying bus ticket, it's that cheap. Also, you can find cheap places to stay such as homestay instead of expensive hotel. In fact, if you don't want to spend money at all for accommodation, just camping then; highly suggested in safe countries such Japan.
Doesn't really cost a lot to travel if you don't mind crashing on couches or camping out. I've done 2 euro trips and a road trip along the west coast of the USA from Seattle to San Diego. If you don't mind working odd jobs for a couple months everywhere you go such as dog walking or waitressing you can stay at each location as long as you want.
It says he's doing this for a charitable cause. I'm sure part of the donation money would go towards the trip. As Joshua said these trips can be made cheaper than expected if you know where to look.
This video made me cry, the world is such a beautiful place, everyone should be happy of being alive...let's respect and love each other, we are all the same, it could be so easy...
Actually, he's a normal joe :). I've known him for 15 years already. He is great person that knows how to save his money and knows how to survive in any situation. If you think he was staying in 5* hotels, then you should read his blog and see how he manages. It's really interesting and cool!
20 countries from my side over the years... but watching this video got inspiration to travel more... Really Life should be enjoyed & explored like Alex 👍👏 - Vikram Laskar 🇮🇳
you are a bunch of envious people and your comments are at least as pathetic as you guys are. Alex Chacon your video was amazing, and I thank you so much for sharing this. That's truly inspirational :)
***** But still you'd have a lifetime full of stories and adventures. Otherwise you'll grown up to old man tired of everything because of your shitty and boring job.
one of the most incredible video i have ever seen. keep your journey going, people like u fill our lives with happiness and hope of achieving atleast 1% of what you people do.

The only acceptable selfie
How are we gonna take photos of ourselves if it's not a selfie? This "only acceptable selfie" thing is very inappropriate.
I can honestly state I've never taken a picture of myself without a group of friends around. Or someone else taking a photo of me. Then again I grew up when kodak was a thing and phones didn't have these wonderful camera devices.

Besides, there are a lot of expenses in the trip: motorcycle, motorcycle repairs, gear, food, lodging, GAS. etc
timgoat556 115 week 1/3rd bills, $100 food a month, i beg to differ lol
And he probably wont live with his parents, he made a business out of his trip. Check his websites. He has money now.

I wanna live a life like this!!!!
This is sooooo coool!!!!!!!!😊
I am stunned by how beautiful our world is......
This is real life!
Great video though!
where do people have money to do all this? I wonder..
Joshua Richard find me a ticket to Europe for under 1000
Joshua Richard those giant japanese hornets though
It says he's doing this for a charitable cause. I'm sure part of the donation money would go towards the trip. As Joshua said these trips can be made cheaper than expected if you know where to look.
This video made me cry, the world is such a beautiful place, everyone should be happy of being alive...let's respect and love each other, we are all the same, it could be so easy...
What is the name of this music?

Actually, he's a normal joe :). I've known him for 15 years already. He is great person that knows how to save his money and knows how to survive in any situation. If you think he was staying in 5* hotels, then you should read his blog and see how he manages. It's really interesting and cool!

Plenty of people earn money while traveling. It's not so hard to manage, especially if you've got IT experience.
John Crichton IT guy here. Feel free to tell me how I could manage this.

Would you sell all of your stuff to travel around the world like this guy?
Yeah I would ;-)
