For anyone using Blender 3.1, the "Curve Parameter" node is now called "Spline Parameter"

thank you
Thank you a ton.
true hero
I tchecked comment instant; thx :D
I'm still finding Geometry Nodes hard to learn but videos like this, concise and well explained, are helping tremendously and encouraging me to stick with it. Great work!
You are right.
There is actually a curve endpoints node, so you don't need to copy they entire setup for the flower tops
This is just driving me crazy how powerful and beautiful, Geo nodes are, Thanks for awesome tutorials!!!💯🤩
This is actually one of the tutorials that doesn't faff around, gets to the point, and still somehow manages to go at a really good pace for anyone new to Geometry Nodes. Well done.
Bruh, the stuff blender allows us to do blows my mind, excellent application.
Precise, to the point and no nonsense. This is about as perfect a tutorial series on geometry nodes as it gets
Bro this is crazy, you can create everything using Geometry Nodes, awesome work
Instead of color ramps you should use map range or endpoint selection nodes, it saves on processing power. Small difference but it adds up the more flowers you have.
I like the vector curves node for that, because it lets you set the distribution of leaf length and width individually. Processing time is probably just as bad, but not an issue for my application.
Great tutorial and I really like what you can do with Geometry Nodes in Blender... and it's still growing and improving. One thing I would suggest: the Color Ramp is good for distributing and scaling the leaves on the stem, but when it comes to the flower blossom and you definitely want only a single one at the end I wouldn't use it.
Especially when you would draw a really long curve (since you didn't change the Color Ramp to constant interpolation, but even then) you're getting a high risk of having more than one blossom at the top.
Much better would be to use the Endpoint Selection node for that. You can choose how many points on the start and the end you want to select, this can be plugged in the Selection input of the Instance on Points node. In this case it would be 0 for Start Size and 1 for End Size. So no matter how long you draw the curve, there will always be only a single flower on it. For that you don't even need the Resample Curve geometry, because each original curve you draw has at least one start and end point.
Thanks so much.. Yes thats true.. End Point node is good for that.
Bud your tutorials are excellent good job keep up the good work
Holy fuck that looks AMAZEBALLS, a lot of us Blender users learn about technology and don't focus on esthethics enough and you did both well done!!
Great tutorial. Doing magic with geometry nodes. Thanks for sharing, worth paying your effort and expertise.
Happy New Year All The Works!
You got some great stuff here! Just discovered this great channel, I'll have to go back and watch some older videos too.
Thanks for awesome but easy to follow tutorial .
Excellent! A really nice explanation and result. Thanks for making this.
You did a great job with this video it really helps to understand because you were able to simplify it and use just enough nodes to get great results thank you I'll be watching for more of your videos.
Nice tut and easy introduction to nodes, thanks.
A drawback I faced here is that it seems impossible to export our model outside of Blender: the geom node modifier needs a mesh to be applied, and when we convert to a mesh we obviously lost our setup (as we need a curve to distribute elements).
Yes.. So it is like.. You design ur stuff.. Do multiple iterations (quickly), and once you finalized/made what you want, convert it to mesh for exporting out.
Simply converting it to mesh doesn't work.
This is what I did to export it:
1. Remove the geometry nodes modifier from the curve
2. Convert curve to mesh (In object mode right click -> convert to -> curve)
3. Add geometry nodes modifier again, but make a copy of the geometry node group (use the copy button in top center of the nodes editor)
4. Change these geometry nodes to use a mesh as input instead of a curve by adding a "Mesh to Curve" node behind the "Group Input" and use its curve output everywhere where the group input was used before.
5. Insert a "Relalize Instances" node before the group output (after the join geometry).
6. Apply the modifier.
7. Fix the UV coordinates in the material by using a "Attribute" node with name "UVMap". See the answer (with picture) here: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/241507/where-is-a-proper-way-to-get-back-uv-map-after-realize-instances
Now you have the actual mesh and you can export it. Or you can separate it by loose parts to get indivial objects for the leaves, the flower parts and the stem.
@@PaulPaulPaulson yes.. so .. for now, realize instance does not work well if your instanced objects have textures/UVs. It is a Blender limitation.
I have created a video about it with another simple method....
hope it helps

What you do is great, thanks
This is absolutely amazing, and you've done a great job explaining it concisely. Huge thanks!
you have covered many ideas and usages of the geometry nodes. really nice! 🌺
Amazing tutorial, thank you so much! I had a lot of fun trying around with all the different values and learned a lot!
Man you just made geometry nodes so easy for me Thanks!
This is so amazing please continue making tutorials and make a patreon for people who already use patreon and dont use kofi but please continue to provide the .blend file for free for those who cant afford it
Happy new year to you too and may all your wishes come true! You are too sweet 😊
These tutorials are exactly what I was looking for. Keep up the great work, your channel will be big in no time!!
Thanks very straight forward
Thankyou so much, this was really informative and very well done. Please make more geometry node videos! They are so exciting!
Good fortune in all your endeavors.
this is great man, thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial. Geometry scares me but you make it friendly. Subbed!
Wow I love the result and the tutorial was easy to follow!
Wonderful intro to geo nodes!
Excellent tutorials. Thank you for the hard work. I appreciate the knowledge
Incredible ! Thank you for this !
This is really great man, well done and thank you
great video, I tried finding something like this for a long time, very well explained
best thing ever, I learned a lot, subscribed, keep up the excellent work!
Your tutorial is easy to learn. Thank you so much!
instancing the flower on the top using a color ramp is very clever trick! I'd have considered a more complicated solution! :)
Really nice !!! Thank you very much!!! ... Congratulations from Madrid , Spain!!!🤣♥♥👍👍👏👏🤣🤣
Nice! looking out for the next one.
thank you for your tips
Really nice
Awesome tutorial... Thanks for your sharing
This video is all super clear. Thanks a lot!

I like it!
Great work man, you're the best ! thanks , happy new year
wow
😘😍😍
I actually love you
nice tutorial btw you can use end point selection for blue flower to only instence on end point ☺️
brilliant work, clearly explained. Thank you!
Another great tutorial, thanks
Very informative
Bravo!!
Very good!Thank you for your very good interpretation!!
Good video!
Pretty much a perfect tutorial, easy to follow and some powerful things to learn! thank you!
keep going!

Well done tutorial.
This is so cool and really effective! Is there a way to add like a procedural animation on this like the wind blowing?
Working on it.. Soon post a video
What the Hawak, this is grrrreatt
magic ,merci
thx
👌👌👍👍
Geo nodes are a before and after for blender
What the actual hell is this magic??
"Is it possible to learn this power?"
Very cool
Damn... i started watching this because I thought you were gonna show how to do that draw curve part...
I am making more videos on that.. Will upload soon. Thanks
how can I add it as a particle system on a plane? Mine is invisible when I do it, but in edit mode I can see the curves. Tried to convert it to a mesh, but it got messed up.
if you want to incorporate particle systems after geometry nodes, use the realize instances node
@@_e8a thx!
The link for downoloading blender file example, is not working

How many polygons did your thing end up having? More specifically, how would it work in unity?
Hope it helps

To get a proper spiral for the leaves (at 7:30) I used a Position Node plugged into the top socket of a Vector Math Node. Set the V.Math Node to Multiply and spin the lower Vector Z value up to get 3,4,5.. leaves per z revolution.
Higher numbers is less leaves per revolution, which is annoying. Any suggestions of other ways to do this???
To get a proper spiral.. Use INDEX node and multiply it by 2.412.. Then plug to rotation..
Checkout the leaf tutorial from "BAD NORMALS"
@@ALLTHEWORKS11 Excellent. Thanks. I shall check him - I am subbed to him also.
So if I wanted to add the ground "dirt" plane (0:44 seconds mark) would you just add that mesh to the flowers collection
That is a simple subdivided plane with "ARRAY " and "CURVE" modifiers attached to it.
@@ALLTHEWORKS11 awesome thanks! I was over thinking it. Looking forward to more tutorials
I love you :3
Nice. Too bad i can only like it once.👍
This will get really laggy really fast because you have a bunch of tiny hidden meshes for the flowers and leaves that you made disappear using the color ramp
True.. so for leaves, it is required, because we need smaller & bigger sizes.. but in case of flower, we can plug the color ramp output to "selection" rather than scale.
@@ALLTHEWORKS11 No that's the dumbest way to do it There's better ways to do it like delete the small instances instead of scaling them down.
@@unicornhuntercg ok.. well.. i was just trying to help.. good.. whatever works for you.. chill
Great tutorial. Big thanks for that. But the free download file seems to be missing. After leaving e-mail of course. I really don't like that kind of thing. If it costs to download just say so. I pay for tutorials when I need them, but not if the price is not clearly stated.
Do you know how to convert a flower to a mesh ?to apply the modifier we need to convert the curve to a mesh, but as soon as we do it, it returns to a simple cylinder without leaves and flower and we lose the modifier.
I'm confused. Are you talking about what you create with Geometry Nodes? If so, you just have to apply the modifier
@@sonario6489 give it a try , its not working as you have to convert the curve to a mesh to apply a modifier. And when you do that, the modifier disapear and cannot ne applied as its not a curve anymore ..;)
I think you need to realize the instances first, you can do that with the "realize instances" node.
hope it helps

why blender had to be like godot and start changing tthings just to make sure years of tutorial go straight to waste....
Really great tutorial!

this tutorial fixed my marriage and payed off my student loans
Very beautiful, Thank you for sharing
Watching after sharp 1 year haha
very precise and well explained . thanks for sharing
Excellent tutorial, very well explained, easy to grasp, and very fun! Thank you!
Hello, awesome your video, but the curve parameter does not exist on blender 4
Do you have a solution to replace this node
Thanks for your help,
