Guitar virtuoso Pete Thorn demonstrates the cool delay effects you can create with the BOSS TE-2 Tera Echo pedal, which is BOSS's 100th effects pedal. Enjoy the demo, then learn more at the link above!
To the people saying this pedal is too weird for a delay or it does one thing well and that's all.... All I gotta say is that I have had mine for around 2 years and whenever I try another delay it lacks the fidelity and overall room filling 3D quality this Boss has... It may have one sound but it does it well. Plus this pedal is good for trippy echo but also sounds really cool as a slapback echo/reverb type sound.
awesome pedal when added to a reverb and other ambient pedals.
Then maybe you can tell me - does it have trails?
@@deanallen9660 You probably already know by now, but yes it does. 99% of all buffered bypass delays will have trails by default.
I've had this pedal for 3 months and I just dig it and I really feel like I'm just scratching the surface with it. This pedal in conjunction with a DD7 is just magic! Guys like Pete Thorn has helped me build quite an impressive pedalboard all on his suggestions his demos!
@@deanallen9660 yes
I think Pete has the market cornered on gear demoing! Not to mention he's a smoking player and seems like he's really a decent guy too! I never miss an episode of Pete's! And I've learned so much it's ridiculous! My tone has improved exponentially with every demo he puts up! So thanks again. And as usual Pete you're playing and tone is so inspiring!!
I bought the pedal because of this demo. It's an amazing effect. Thanks Pete
Lost mine in the August flood in LA. I miss it so much
I immediately wanted to rock those amps in stereo when I first saw them. Awesome. Every clean/mod patch in my gt001 rocks this excellent effect.
I updated the firmware of my Boss GT-100 and this was included. I like this effect a lot!
Good demo. Checking out different pedals for my son (just learning but advancing rapidly..) and this answered alot of questions with great sound to compare against.
I like anything that sounds like this. Not too OTT but with some glimmer and shimmer for us oldies. Best described as ‘Neat’ said Biz
I made a point to do that :) Glad you dug it!
Awesome playing by your good self ☺️ Must get one of these 😃
The tera echo sounds amazing I wish there was Expression pedal control on the spread time just the cool sound while turning it is rad
Thank you so much for making this vid in STEREO for a stereo pedal. So many people don't do it! Go figure. Cheers!
All three of the pedal AD-2 MO-2 and TE-2 sounds amazing !
Surpized it gets such negativity as there are freeze pedals which do nothing else and aren't that much cheaper. This is a freeze pedal with an interesting reverb/delay hybrid effect as well... Would have been nice if its effect had been built into the rv 6 though.
The RV-6 can do pretty much the same things as this pedal. Different pedals, but they do VERY similar things. Both are very ambient and cool!
Great job, man. Some of the other demo videos they don't know what to do with this pedal so they talk it down.
anything pete plays makes you wanna buy it
Could this model be used to emulate the features of the Scholz Hyperspace Pedal, which I think is rooted in the Oberheim Echoplex equipped with expression pedals for feedback and delay time?
BOSS is the only pedal one needs. I had some overpriced Moogerfoogers, I am glad I was able to still sell those for nearly what I paid for them. Whew. :)
Shoulda held on to those till they discontinued... I sold mine for 3x what I paid. Hipsters finally served a purpose (in my travels).
These pedals are like strawberry, peanut butter, mint ice cream with bacon bit sprinkles. Pretty cool to try and might even be good if you are baked but you do not really want to buy a gallon of it.
I could play with that pedal all day.
great demo Pete, it is very helpful.
Love my Boss TE-2 TERRA ECHO from
aDawliah Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia
Thank you Pete , great demo !
Great demo as usual Pete. So what would your opinion be, I am considering either the Boss Tera Echo or the Boss DD7 Delay. Are they similar or completely different?
Completely different, both interesting pedals though
Bought the DD-7 and the RV-6
Very good sound also of the bridge pickup
Am I crazy...!? Or did you play some Eddie Money " Baby Hold on to Me"??
Sweet effect! Are we listening to the next David Gilmore? Love your technique!
Are you kidding? Players now aspire to be the new Pete Thorn!
Hi Guys was Pete going straight into the amp on this demo or into the loop.. my amp doesn't have a loop so wondered if the tera echo would be ok??
The Afterneath definitely bit this pedals style... this is like an afterneath and then some, $70 on Reverb, best deal going..
Sounds like it would be a really good pedal for Holdsworth type clean chords
I bought one but took it back... it does one thing really well... but it is a really different thing... and after you've heard it once...well...
Maybe they can do a Tera 2 with more controls. Similar to what Big Muff did with the new Deluxe Big muff with a gate, and some mid eq control.
4:21 - 5:02 sounds like Andy Timmons! Love it!
what is this roland amp you are playing with? Can't find in their website. Is it good?
Are there settings on this pedal so that you dont get that annoying washing sound near then end of the note?
This pedal can do the effect sound of the intro of "Welcome to the jungle"? It's only good for the chorus effect?
This peel can do radio head really well
i like the demo but the frequent use of whammy bar interferes with hearing the effect of the pedal
4:36 Sounds awesome.
pete what amps were you playing through? thanks
superb
It doesn't have the warmth or presence of an analog tape echo. Multi Vox 212 was the best all around echo for guitars
I have this pedal, It's so cool. But I'm broke. Should I sell or should I keep?
What Roland amp models are you using?
I have old Fender tube amps, a Carvin Belair and some other tube amps- a class A 1963 Alamo Paragon with tube rectifier, etc. My favorite "tube" amp right now is probably my Roland Cube.
soooo cool
i want one!
Perfect hair Pete has perfect hair.
What amps are those?
Sounds too 1980’s to me. lol
My thoughts on effects in general are if you can hear the actual effect itself then usually it’s too much for the audience, pull it back a tiny bit on the settings and a lot of that electronic sound drops away. However what scares me about this pedal is it can sound nice and subtle but a strum too hard and it has an awful metallic synthetic leap in sound. Does anyone know if it’s possible to stop that yet still have the more subtle sounds? Cheers
Completely cut the tone on the pedal
The tone knob kinda controls the lazer beam sounds. If you keep it really low its almost gone
80s is good, buddy.
I want valhalla shimmer pedal....
....the Orange Omec transport is supposed to get all plugin effect into ur guitar amp...
Could you use this pedal for The Edge sound from the band U2? It has such a variety of sound its hard to say what its limits are. Anyone ?
close but not quite. for that sound you're better off getting a tc electronic flashback delay pedal.
memory man pedal was the Edge pedal back in the day.
whats that pedal on the left?
Boss RC-3 Loop Station
Thanks for the demo. Sounds like a phaser.
**Peace
That is why he plays so well. He has one eye looking forward and the other eye staring at the fretboard.
Mean but funny omf
But his voice is pretty hot though, no joke 👀
The filtering throws me off, if it wasn't there it would be way more useable for me....
***** then it would just be a dd-3...
Anybody who demos a delay without saying whether or not it has trails should GO TO JAIL! Sorry, but it matters.
Maybe S. Time is as borat says Sexy Time lol
I've known two people who had that same thing. One had a surgery that fixed it.
Take my money
Que pena, disculpe señor pero esta hablandole a la camara o a su guitarra?
just use a good tube amp and the pedal will shine..you dont need to show it too :p(the amp)
Does it work for voice?
Hello, Joshua! The Tera Echo on it's own does not have a microphone input, though you could use it with something like the Eventide Mixing Link: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MixingLink--eventide-mixing-link-preamp-and-fx-loop
Thanks for the interest!

hahahahha what a unique review hhahahah
Wtf
pete needs a hockey helmet with that doo...jk
it has so many different ambience things and it can't be programmed. so it sucks
because you don't stop tweaking all the controls. just not practical.
I voted this down since dude kept grabbing the whammy. It was rare to hear the "clean" sound! Annoying.
he has fuckeyes
Martin Blumrich check out his channel. The dudes a legend
Incredible guitar player with a massive resume...
The Man from Epsilon Crucis Some people are born that way. Insulting people for things they have no control over is very unfair.
So you got triggered, right?
1 lazy eye i think
They are actually wonky; not funny. The wonky one holds incredible power.
What Roland amp models you using?
