I just bought the kit with a battery and charger for $130. Had to jump on it. Now that I’ve watched this video, I’ve just ordered the cyclone attachment. I love the makita tools!!
It has been a great little tool around my garage. I use it almost daily. The cyclone attachment will save you from having to change the filters so often. Congrats on the good deal. That is a great price.
One of the best reviews on the internet. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this and g'day from Western Australia! :)
Thank you kindly, and thanks for watching. Have a great day
I like your honest and no nonsense reviews :) Kudos!
Thanks for the compliment. Thank you for watching, and have a great day.
Great review. Very helpful. Our Dyson stick no longer sucks well, so this is looking like a good alternative.
It has been a great little vacuum for the garage, and light stuff. I must say though, that it is definitely not as powerful as the cordless Dyson. My wife has a cordless Dyson, and it has much more suction than what the Makita does.
Don't get me wrong this vacuum has its place, but I would not consider it in the same category as the Dyson.
If you can find a local retailer that has a demo model, I recommend checking it out first. Thank you for watching, and have a great day.
I'm impressed with this vacuum, works great.
Yes it does. Don't you be stealing it to clean the kitchen. LOL
Great video and demonstration
Thank you, and thanks for watching. Have a great day.
Obviously that seems like a great product!
Obviously.... LOL
Top vid thanks for taking the time and sharing this with us. Tc buddy :)

really useful. thanks
Your welcome and thank you for watching. Have a fantastic day
can we have a cocktail demo too, my eyes kept wandering to the bar! oh yeah good demo man
LMAO..... That comment made my morning. I don't drink much anymore, the occasional nip of whiskey or shine. Most of that has been there for months. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the laugh.
Well done. I'm looking at this versus those BIG bucks Dyson/Samsung types. I have a lot of Makita cordless tools and thought this would be a better choice and only want it for my upstairs hard floors. I track a lot of saw dust back upstairs and seems to make a mess in the kitchen pretending to cook. I was worried about it not having a HEPA filter or washable filters but with the cyclone filter it should be fine over all.
I can say that it has no where near the suction of the Dyson stick vac. My wife does have one of those and it has quite a bit more suction. However they are much more costly too. I still find that she will come out and grab my Makita from the garage when she wants to just do a quick sweep in the kitchen, so it must not be to bad. I also highly recommend the cyclone attachment. It definitely saves cleaning the filter all the time. I use it just about daily and usually only have to clean the filter only about once every couple of weeks vs daily without the cyclone attachment. Thanks for taking the time to watch, and have a great day.
Yes and maybe the xlc04 will be equal or actually a tad better than the dyson per specs and the Air Watt formula: CFM X INCHES WATER / 8.5. Dyson is 185 and Makita 04 is 193 Air Watts.
Thanks
No problem. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day.
You would be great on tv !
LOL. Not sure about that, but thank you for the kind words. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.
I'm actually really surprised, especially in picking up the nuts and bolts. I have the cordless DeWalt wet/dry vac and I think it has asthma 😢
LOL. I was surprised it picked them up too. I really just use it for light cleaning mostly. It works if you need to do a quick sweep up, but it is not something I use after doing a lot of wood working. If I just cut a piece or two and have a small mess, then it is perfect. Thanks for watching.
Good review. Was the wall mount included or did you buy it separately?
The wall mount did come with it. Thank you and have a great day.
top man and a great review, thank you. Can you tell me what it weighs with and without the cyclone, thank you.
The weight without the cyclone and without the battery is 2.5lbs. With the cyclone is it just about 3.1 lbs. Figure another 1.2 lbs if you have a 5 ah battery connected. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving thank you for taking the time to get back in touch.
@@josefsalih8268 Not a problem.
Keep an eye on the dust collector housing nozzle. Mine is only 2 months old and has several cracks around it already. Poor design cutting the nozzle off at 45° instead of 90°, and probably could have used a more suitable plastic. This issue has been raised many times on various sites, but Makita have done nothing to address it. (As of 2024)
Mine has had the same issue. As of now it still seems to work fine. Disappointing to say the least. Makita normally has very reliable products. Their quality seems to be going down over the last couple of years.
@@DevaultFamilyLiving Sadly I have to agree, quality not near what it used to be. 😞
I have submitted a warranty claim for mine, and hoping they replace it with the opaque blue/green ones that don't seem to have the issue a.f.a.i.k.
