Imagine being too young to remember during this time, and be able to watch all the films on Disney+ in one go, without the excitement older people had when these announcements were made. I was 27 when Iron Man came out in 2008, and this has been 14 years of my life.
I was 8 when iron man came out and they announced phase three when I was heading to eighth grade so I remember this being announced and the excitement I had back then now I’m 21 looking forward to the end of phase 4 and all of phase 5 the mcu has been part of my childhood and all of my adulthood so far lol

So phase 3 ended with introducing the multiverse, and phase 4 and 5 is continuing with the multiverse idea. Phase 6 and 7 will be really crazy at this rate.
I could have sworn that the "multiverse" discussed by Beck and Fury in _Spider-Man: Far from Home_ was likely a ruse by Beck to trick Fury into associating with him. But I could be wrong.

I was born 1 year before the mcu started, so marvel has been with me basically my entire life, I remember watching this when I was like 7 and getting so bloody excited, marvel has undoubtedly been one of the biggest most important things in my life, and it always will be, the hype around this announcement was unreal
Now imagine the people who were actually old enough to go and remember Iron Man as it came out, a kid or teen in those days have lived through the glory days and they grow older. I was 8 when Iron Man came out and i think its the perfect age for it to start.

And then when captain America civil war came out I went to the cinema to watch it and ever since then I’ve been such a big fan of the MCU. Me and my group of friends made suits out of cardboard and made short films all the time. It was a cool period of my life. In the comics, they make the weirder nearly omnipotent, but only in their own universe/reality. The TVA is set up outside of our universe. They go from time line to timeline because they have that technology from Kang, but once they are in a timeline they could be defeated by the infinity stones of that universe.

its 2022 and i still got chills three times during this video. The first wave came with the Infinity War announcement, the second came from the Civil War announcement, but the third was unexpected. For the third one would come Boesmans announcement, knowing that in 5 years this beautiful soul would be taken from this world
Marvel prevented me from committing suicide multiple times as a teenager. Watching this video, even now in 2022, still brings bittersweet tears to my eyes. I have many, many, very visible self harm scars on my arms, from a time that I was very depressed, and struggled with suicidal ideation. Mostly when I was 16, but oddly enough, Marvel got me through it. This is how: In 2014, before this announcement, I had 4 failed suicide attempts. After the 4th one, I tried really hard to get better, and I tried all kinds of different methods that I thought would help me from wanting to off myself, but nothing was working. There came a day where I was about to commit my 5th attempt. I pressed a razor to my wrist, trying to talk myself out of doing it. That's when I decided to think up a list of things I looked forward to. However, at the time I felt that I had nothing, no reasons at all, to look forward to. (I eventually talked myself out of doing it, but i cant remember how.) When the Age of Ultron trailer came out, I was reminded that I had at least one thing to look forward to. Only one reason to stay alive, and as silly as that sounds, it was enough. (I only dabbled with reading the comics, but im a huge lover of cinema, and Marvel was very important to me) So I just kept reminding myself of that, over and over again. Every single time I was about to swallow too many pills, or had a razor in my hand, I'd remind myself - that at the very least, I had to stay alive until May (2015). So when Marvel made this announcement, I suddenly had multiple things to look forward to, but Infinity War was what I was most excited about. I told myself that I HAD to keep going in order to see how this story would play out. I would watch those Age of Ultron trailers religiously, on a daily basis. I bet I could still quote those trailers today. By the time Infinty War was released, I was 19. In those 3 years that had passed, I stopped cutting at 17. I finally found the right medication for me. I finally accepted myself for who I was, and came to terms with my sexuality, and found peace in that. I didn't have a reason to cut anymore. Of course there were bad days where cutting crossed my mind, but all i had to do was remind myself of the list of reasons I had to stay alive for. The "What I Look Forward To" list grew beyond just Marvel movies, but of the entire year I was 16, Phase 3 was the only thing on that list. At the premiere for Infinity War, before showing the trailers, the theater did this light show while playing the Avengers theme music. I sat in my chair, next to my friend, and just cried. As much as I wanted to cry loudly, I didn't wanna burden my friend, or draw any attention to myself, so I just sat and cried quietly to myself. It was such a heartbreaking, happy and peaceful moment, knowing that my struggle with suicidal ideation had come full circle. Here I was, 19 years old, with a large community of friends and family who love me, and accept me - No longer depressed, or hating myself for being too skinny, or too gay, or not attractive enough, or whatever. All I I had to do to get me through the day was remind myself of Infinity War. And then the next day, do the same thing. And then do it again the next day, and then all over again, every single day that followed. It really sounds like such a silly reason to live, but because of that painfully simple reminder, I am alive today. The MCU movies aren't always a hit. And yeah their CGI can look cartoonish. And sometimes, a few of the movies have plot lines that just exist to set up action sequences (Kind of like WWE lol) But there is some solid gold storytelling within this franchise. Watching this video, brings my eyes to a mist. Especially when they announce Infinity War. The way that crowd roars when Part 2 is announced reminds me of why Marvel is so important to me. Going to the late night premieres for these movies, and having a unified shared experience together with a large group of people. Cheering together when Spider-Man wakes up in his Iron Spider suit for the first. Everyone gasping when you see Red Skull protecting the Soul Stone. Crying together when Black Widow, and Iron Man dies. Hollywood can call these movies trash all they want (and they're not always wrong lol) But a franchise like this can start a conversation between you and a stranger, creating a new friendship. It can make for a good theme for a house party. It can create nostalgic memories, from those times where, maybe, as a kid you always watched these movies with your family, or maybe from the times you always went to see them in theaters with your best friend. And maybe, it just might potentially prevent you from ending your life. These movies bring people together, and create beautiful memories - the kind of memories to have logged in your memory bank forever. Marvel's stories, the kind of power that they hold, is not something to take lightly. Do not underestimate the power of storytelling, and the deep impact it can have on people. (IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR, thank you so much for actually taking the time out to read this. This is not a story I tell often, so it means a lot to me that you made it to the end.)
I can relate to this on a deep level cuz during last few years when I was very lonely and depressed MCU and Video games were one of the only few things that gave me hope and excitement. It's like the only reason I wanted to live and work on myself was to enjoy these intricate and beautiful stories from MCU and a few video games wanted to play (like RDR2 , Witcher 3 , Fallout 4 and upcoming titles like GTA 6 , Elder Scrolls 6 , Hogwarts Legacy...). Makes you think how strong the power of good storytelling is and how they inspire us to live and to fight challenges just like the fictional characters in these stories do 🥺

I think i was 17 when I started falling in love with television, bc I had just started to discover streaming. At the time, streaming originals were still kind of a new thing. And I was all about it. It became another huge reason on my list. I wanted to see how streaming was gonna change the industry, and what other beautiful streaming shows were gonna come to fruition. I just recently discovered the good writing that comes with some video games. I don't play them, but I do watch the cutscenes often. The opening scene of Last of Us is just gorgeous. I used to be embarrassed to say that I stayed alive bc of cinema, but as an aspiring screen writer, I'm proud to say that I'm only alive bc of cinema. I'm glad you're here, and that you're alive. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

I could have sworn that the "multiverse" discussed by Beck and Fury in _Spider-Man: Far from Home_ was likely a ruse by Beck to trick Fury into associating with him. But I could be wrong.

I was born 1 year before the mcu started, so marvel has been with me basically my entire life, I remember watching this when I was like 7 and getting so bloody excited, marvel has undoubtedly been one of the biggest most important things in my life, and it always will be, the hype around this announcement was unreal

I was watching the Tobey Maguire’s spider man stuff with my dad instead, but when age of ultron came out I remember watching it in my car everyday while my mom drives me to school. And then when captain America civil war came out I went to the cinema to watch it and ever since then I’ve been such a big fan of the MCU. Me and my group of friends made suits out of cardboard and made short films all the time. It was a cool period of my life. But you know how it is to grow up and apart from those you loved :( Anyways what I’m trying to say is ever since avengers 2 I’ve been loving MCU and I never gave up on it when watching phase four.

@@rayvintankerson6818 The reasons the infinity stones were useless is because they are literally powerless outside of their home universe. In the comics, they make the weirder nearly omnipotent, but only in their own universe/reality. The TVA is set up outside of our universe. They go from time line to timeline because they have that technology from Kang, but once they are in a timeline they could be defeated by the infinity stones of that universe.

Yeah now it seems like after phase 4 began there is much more negativity around the mcu, some deserved, some not.

I will never forget how excited everyone was when this event happened. It was the beginning of the end. But it was so very exciting.
I watched this and when I saw Chadwick come up I was going to cry, so much was ready for yet he had so little time. Rest in peace Chadwick, we love you
its 2022 and i still got chills three times during this video. The first wave came with the Infinity War announcement, the second came from the Civil War announcement, but the third was unexpected. For the third one would come Boesmans announcement, knowing that in 5 years this beautiful soul would be taken from this world
Marvel prevented me from committing suicide multiple times as a teenager. Watching this video, even now in 2022, still brings bittersweet tears to my eyes.
I have many, many, very visible self harm scars on my arms, from a time that I was very depressed, and struggled with suicidal ideation. Mostly when I was 16, but oddly enough, Marvel got me through it. This is how:
In 2014, before this announcement, I had 4 failed suicide attempts. After the 4th one, I tried really hard to get better, and I tried all kinds of different methods that I thought would help me from wanting to off myself, but nothing was working.
There came a day where I was about to commit my 5th attempt. I pressed a razor to my wrist, trying to talk myself out of doing it. That's when I decided to think up a list of things I looked forward to. However, at the time I felt that I had nothing, no reasons at all, to look forward to.
(I eventually talked myself out of doing it, but i cant remember how.) When the Age of Ultron trailer came out, I was reminded that I had at least one thing to look forward to. Only one reason to stay alive, and as silly as that sounds, it was enough. (I only dabbled with reading the comics, but im a huge lover of cinema, and Marvel was very important to me) So I just kept reminding myself of that, over and over again. Every single time I was about to swallow too many pills, or had a razor in my hand, I'd remind myself - that at the very least, I had to stay alive until May (2015). So when Marvel made this announcement, I suddenly had multiple things to look forward to, but Infinity War was what I was most excited about. I told myself that I HAD to keep going in order to see how this story would play out. I would watch those Age of Ultron trailers religiously, on a daily basis. I bet I could still quote those trailers today.
By the time Infinty War was released, I was 19. In those 3 years that had passed, I stopped cutting at 17. I finally found the right medication for me. I finally accepted myself for who I was, and came to terms with my sexuality, and found peace in that. I didn't have a reason to cut anymore. Of course there were bad days where cutting crossed my mind, but all i had to do was remind myself of the list of reasons I had to stay alive for. The "What I Look Forward To" list grew beyond just Marvel movies, but of the entire year I was 16, Phase 3 was the only thing on that list.
At the premiere for Infinity War, before showing the trailers, the theater did this light show while playing the Avengers theme music. I sat in my chair, next to my friend, and just cried. As much as I wanted to cry loudly, I didn't wanna burden my friend, or draw any attention to myself, so I just sat and cried quietly to myself. It was such a heartbreaking, happy and peaceful moment, knowing that my struggle with suicidal ideation had come full circle. Here I was, 19 years old, with a large community of friends and family who love me, and accept me - No longer depressed, or hating myself for being too skinny, or too gay, or not attractive enough, or whatever. All I I had to do to get me through the day was remind myself of Infinity War. And then the next day, do the same thing. And then do it again the next day, and then all over again, every single day that followed. It really sounds like such a silly reason to live, but because of that painfully simple reminder, I am alive today.
The MCU movies aren't always a hit. And yeah their CGI can look cartoonish. And sometimes, a few of the movies have plot lines that just exist to set up action sequences (Kind of like WWE lol) But there is some solid gold storytelling within this franchise.
Watching this video, brings my eyes to a mist. Especially when they announce Infinity War. The way that crowd roars when Part 2 is announced reminds me of why Marvel is so important to me. Going to the late night premieres for these movies, and having a unified shared experience together with a large group of people. Cheering together when Spider-Man wakes up in his Iron Spider suit for the first. Everyone gasping when you see Red Skull protecting the Soul Stone. Crying together when Black Widow, and Iron Man dies. Hollywood can call these movies trash all they want (and they're not always wrong lol) But a franchise like this can start a conversation between you and a stranger, creating a new friendship. It can make for a good theme for a house party. It can create nostalgic memories, from those times where, maybe, as a kid you always watched these movies with your family, or maybe from the times you always went to see them in theaters with your best friend. And maybe, it just might potentially prevent you from ending your life.
These movies bring people together, and create beautiful memories - the kind of memories to have logged in your memory bank forever. Marvel's stories, the kind of power that they hold, is not something to take lightly.
Do not underestimate the power of storytelling, and the deep impact it can have on people.

I can relate to this on a deep level cuz during last few years when I was very lonely and depressed MCU and Video games were one of the only few things that gave me hope and excitement.
It's like the only reason I wanted to live and work on myself was to enjoy these intricate and beautiful stories from MCU and a few video games wanted to play (like RDR2 , Witcher 3 , Fallout 4 and upcoming titles like GTA 6 , Elder Scrolls 6 , Hogwarts Legacy...).
Makes you think how strong the power of good storytelling is and how they inspire us to live and to fight challenges just like the fictional characters in these stories do 🥺
@@masquerade_phantomx9270 Right?? It really is kind of a magical thing, the way these stories inspire us to be better. I think i was 17 when I started falling in love with television, bc I had just started to discover streaming. At the time, streaming originals were still kind of a new thing. And I was all about it. It became another huge reason on my list. I wanted to see how streaming was gonna change the industry, and what other beautiful streaming shows were gonna come to fruition.
I just recently discovered the good writing that comes with some video games. I don't play them, but I do watch the cutscenes often. The opening scene of Last of Us is just gorgeous.
I used to be embarrassed to say that I stayed alive bc of cinema, but as an aspiring screen writer, I'm proud to say that I'm only alive bc of cinema.
I'm glad you're here, and that you're alive. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one.
