Thanks for the review. I wore Sennheiser (on-ear) in the Airbus for several years. Although not true ANR, it ran on ship's power. Switched to the B737, and found that I needed ANR, and over-the-ear. I swapped headsets, a Bose A20, with an F/O on a transcon flight. A huge difference from the Sennheiser. That being said, at least to me, I felt as if I were in a cave. No echo, just an emptiness. David Clark was running a "try it" promotion, so I gave the One-X a go. Love it, and bought a second one for my Decathlon.

Sam looks older in this video than his byline picture in Flying Magazine. I guess the byline picture was taken quite a while ago. His review was thorough and amusing, albeit a bit stiff. I think he's a better writer than a vlogger. His on-screen chops will likely improve over time. My wife and I almost bought a lot at the same airpark Sam is building a home on out on the Olympic Peninsula. We wound up choosing to build our home up in Port Townsend where the "rain shadow" gives us more VFR weather every year. Sam and his crew (wife and dog) should fly up to Jefferson County International Airport for a slice of pie at the famous Spruce Goose Restaurant, and give that a RUclips review. Heck, I'd even buy the pie.

Reviewing a headset without the mike muff seems a bit odd.
