Looking forward to this series! As a parent, I’ve really enjoyed your videos. Our speech therapists recommended your channel and my husband and I have learned so much! We will see a developmental specialist in December to start ruling things out for our almost 2 year old girl. We’ve heard that autism is a possibility. I would love a video from you about the difference you see/experience with autism and girls.
Thank you so, so much for making these videos available on RUclips!! My son has a significant speech delay (which I can now more confidently say is a speech delay and not autism, thanks to your videos) and just aged out of Early Intervention with no progress, thank you COVID. Especially in regards to his social behaviour it has been really, really difficult to tell if he is showing signs of autism, because he has not been able to interact with anyone outside of the immediate family during a very crucial part of his intervention and development (we live in a very high infection area, even now). The point that you make at 32:36 especially has been a worry for me because, being his primary caretaker, he does exactly as you say and of course shows all these "typical" behaviours with me, so it's lately very hard to say if he'll do these with anyone else. But you outlined every other point in a way that's so easy to understand (as opposed to a checklist, that from a parent's perspective we look at and go "yeah, but--" or "no, but--" and reach no conclusion) and really helped me to understand that my son very, very likely isn't autistic and I haven't been "failing" him by unintentionally ignoring any potential red flags.
I've already watched your Teach Me To Talk upload (and made my husband watch it) and I will very much look forward to watching and utilizing other videos you may post in hopes of getting my son over his spoken language barrier.
I love your channel and really appreciate this information. Given that this video is from 2 years ago, I understand the language you use here, but I hope that you’ll update this video to emphasize the strengths that autistic people have and remove terms like “scary” and “wrong” when referring to autism.

So my 5yr old son, he is listening to music so much during the day on his tablet. And if I take tht tablet to try to get him to eat or play with something else, well let’s just say it isn’t a good thing. And this happens every day, all day long. But he’s not only listening to it he dances. But he moves the same way each and every time. This isn’t the only thing that has really stuck in my mind now listening to this. I thought tht this was “normal “? I have been trying to get everyone to listen to me about these issues. They have put him on medication now for ADHD/ADD as of a month ago. I feel tht there are other problems. 😢

Yeah. That's great but pretend play and playing with other kids is also age dependent.. children are starting with other kids between 31/2- 4 1/2
