Haha… I’ll never understand the Raoul haters. He’s a himbo ❤ although Steve Barton is my favorite overall, the slightly awkward and arrogant characterization that Hadley Fraser brought made Raoul a lot more cute.
she did decide. she accepted the engagement and kept it secret to protect him. even madame giry was protecting raoul. phantom had to see how important raoul was to christine and he knew hurting him would also hurt her. they never would have reunited had phantom not made her the star.
It makes me so happy that the Hadley fandom is still strong! Some of my other favorite moments from these clips/the second act include: Masquerade: the fact that Raoul and Christine are the only people (at least visibly in the front like, 2/3 of the stage) not wearing masks, and yet they sing the line "But who can name the face?" like oh yeah guys you're hiding really well as well as your "secret" engagement- with Christine specifically starting the conversation about that in front of everyone then telling Raoul to shut up about it. 😂 Notes/Prima Donna like, reprise or whatever? (Where they're telling her to sing again) can't forget Christine being all scared and confused and in general panic, then Raoul giving her the line "Christine, Christine, don't think that I don't care, but every hope and every prayer rests on you now." Like yep best way to comfort your girlfriend- by telling her "no pressure, but actually ALL the pressure." 😂😂 And of course we can't forget at 8:31 their little bro-elbow of trust. 😂❤ ~:~
