    Pronged and unpronged could be replaced with pronging and pronged respectively, since the unpronged dongle is pronged by the dongle with the prong which is pronging it.

    Instead of designating LGBTQ......, they could just say "no one has the right to harm or violate others' natural sovereignty" since that includes everybody equally treated. But that obviously isn't the goal.

    • @energ8t
      @energ8t 7 лет назад +5

      Soon enough they can just rename LGBTQ.... to EBW: everyone but whites
      But seriously, I think this is mostly bitter SJWs rather than actual sensible gay people (at least not many of the gays that I know). Who will win the oppression olympics?

      After LGB, the entire rest of the list are just bandwagoning to try and equate themselves to the accepted sexual preferences by the masses. Everything after that is either a mental disorder, or made up completely to try and gain support. They added them to LGB so that they can use gays as the fallback when someone disregards say Tansgenders. Then they claim that you are a homophobe (well they do say transphobe now I guess), even though it has nothing to do with homosexuality at all.
      If they were REALLY interested in spreading awareness, or gain support about their abnormal sexual preferences they would have created their own movements rather than simply using another one to hide themselves from criticism. I would guess that about 95% of people weren't even aware that the "T" in LGBT meant transgender. You would be even more hard pressed to find anyone that knows wtf the "Q" means. The more abnormal the sexual identity is, the more important it is for them to be in the same basket as homosexuals to avoid debate and discussion. If I were gay I'd be pissed off that they are bandwagoning onto their movement and hurting it in the process.

    I commented 'funny part being that YOU are now making him the 'center of YOUR attention'.
    *FIVE* pictures later i liked a comment (yours by the way) the VERY next comment i tried to 'like' it wouldnt let me. Was making me crazy not understanding why, i gave up and went to the next picture and BAM 'blocked by Zoltan'.

    I found a definition of Deficit Thinking; it seems to be the academic version of “the bigotry of low expectations”, a pinning of ultimate responsibility for “outcomes” on systems and extra-personal factors: “Deficit thinking is a catch-all term for various theories that conjecture that lack of student achievement in urban schools is the fault of the students' races, cultures and/or socioeconomic status. The proponents of these theories offer many justifications for their views, but they share one commonality: they place blame for underachievement on the oppressed, rather than on the societal structures and institutions that do the oppressing. Deficit thinking therefore contributes to processes of social reproduction by creating self-fulfilling prophecies about the academic capabilities of students.”
    tepedtheory.wikispaces.com/Deficit+Thinking

    • @teutonicarcher5652
      @teutonicarcher5652 7 лет назад +6

      Yes, other things about this whole thing are more disturbing. But, the one thing that this movement is attempting to do is destroy the language itself along with the other social structures. "Deficit thinking" is horrendously grammatically incorrect, the proper word would be DEFICIENT thinking. The fact that "deficit thinking" is an accepted theory as opposed to someone throwing an English 101 text book and a dictionary at the schmuck who coined it is fairly disturbing. Keep up the good work!

      How do they not realize they are guilty of a false dichotomy there? Are they so busy making up new jargon that they can't be bothered to understand the existing set of terms and concepts?
      We all know people who blame their failures on everything but themselves and have no ability to personally reflect or own mistakes. This trait does not indicate for success on an individual level and I can't see how it's any better for a group.

    "Hello people. . . and other things." Why hello there, from an Other Thing ;) Seriously though, thanks for continuing to document this; they're obviously still married to their collectivist/exclusionary nigh-religion. Apparently the dip in enrollment has failed to register, just as the students' perception of linear time is weirdly inaccurate. Re the ever-expanding LGBTQIIA+ demographic (because I certainly don't feel like I'm part of any "community") -- a gay friend of mine said we should simply call it the Alphabet Soup demographic, that way everyone gets a letter. Pretty creepy how the students can't see why sanctioning a professor's freedom of speech is -- literally -- an attack on free speech. I can't see how they can't see that! Priceless quote: "We didn't really learn anything."

    Equal outcomes = nonsense. Were grades, class rank eliminated? Meritocracy, if only aspirational, now evil? My introductory lecture in law school pointed out that 1/2 of us would end up in the bottom 1/2 of class, as did I. Simply fact. We are not all equal, regardless of whether grades constitute worthy measures.
    Watching your videos, one thing is beyond clear. Many student speakers, one in particular, needed to remain in junior high until able to understand and communicate in English. She needed grades that accurately reflected her lacking ability, progress. Not everyone belongs in college any more than everyone is entitled to or capable of equal outcomes.
    Do deficits of academic potential or achievement no longer count in academia?

      Actually the Northwest desperately needs higher education for at-risk, troubled kids (such as most at Evergreen appear to be). It seems that, until recently, the model for education used by the school was evidence-based and highly successful at preparing students to enter the workforce with equal opportunity potential. Bear in mind that a high percentage of these kids don’t have the ability to learn in standard college models. Without Evergreen (in original programming mode) hundreds of thousands of highly talented, “gifted” youth would have had ZERO college preparation for really successful careers. So the broad American economy and culture needs this exceptional school. Hey, we could use a fucking trainload of graduates like Ben! No RE development can replace this school at its best.

      Evergreen is a major economic asset to the Olympia area. Plus it is also the only university besides the private St. Martin's University which is also a Liberal Arts style University. Both Evergreen and St. Martin's colleges are very reputable schools but Evergreen is more affordable than St. Martin's which is one factor why so many people choose Evergreen. Evergreen is also a better option than the traditional Universities for those who want to attend college and be close to home. Evergreen is not a place for dumb privileged kids like some of the people in this comment section think. It's actually like other universities and colleges but with a non traditional twist--hence the term 'Liberal Arts' (not Liberal as in the political definition).

    Equity is a darkness I can not tolerate. It rewards nothing, It is not equality with a meritocratic based system which is an absolute fundamental pillar of western values, culture, society...etc. Equity is suicidal and these hellbent on tearing down everything about the way of life which we have in the west, Centuries of improving every aspect of almost everything in life and for everyone...To think people are out to actively smash that into pieces are a cancerous to me personally. They are not a solution to as the problem is the diseased state of their mind's, Not a system which we have equality and putting in the work will reward an individual. These cultural Marxist, post-modernist useful idiots and I do not believe the whole of the collective really understands what they are doing, I know a small number them do know exactly what they are doing and they are the dangerous real pieces of work. Many Professors, and educators, are now leaving the safety/oppression of the University to embark upon entrepreneurial enterprises such their own YT Channels, Websites, etc. They have come to realize that they have more autonomy and reach a far greater number of minds through these mediums. To me, equitable requires a preexisting agreement and its observance. In terms of the school, it references the payment of fees for an education. If the school is teaching a curriculum that does not result in integration into the current society, then it is not providing an education. By that definition, teaching any sort of activism is not an education.
    In that regard, it is necessary for the school to advise what the curriculum comprises so it cannot be faulted for not providing an education in exchange for fees. It's a let the buyer beware defense. If I explained exactly what was being sold, it is not my fault if the buyer has an expectation of the item and it would not be equitable to require me to compensate them for their expectation.
    To me, making that clear at the beginning of the school term is to be transparent. It's still up to people whether they'd enter into an agreement for that item. I remember thinking if the school promised a safe space (i.e. no challenges) for learning, how they'd accomplish that, given that challenge is part of what drives learning.
    I think this addresses the doubt I had. It's pretty clear that students are paying for an experience, the nature of which the school is making no claim to be an educational experience. I expect the advertising would focus on how there's great teachers and how student learned at the school and avoid explicit statements that the teachers teach students or may be expected to.
    Sort of like how one might work in an industry and learn a lot but there's no "teachers" one pays fees to. It's definitely experimental and the first question I'd ask is why then would any student pay fees? Did anyone ask that question?

    From every video I have seen the 'students' were the one's doing the undermining of anyone who did not espouse their views aided and abetted by certain members of the faculty of ESC.
    'students' themselves were actively trying to block free speech of staff and others there to learn.
    This is one of the few places were I would consider open carry.

    @6:00 you sort of dismiss the commitment of social justice to reconfiguring language, as if this was an ineffective use of resources. But it's actually incredibly effective in terms of changing or controlling thought patterns. Giving certain words a bad connotation effectively neuters the ability to discuss the concepts around them, for better or worse (e.g. our discussion of an attack will vary markedly depending on whether we call it a "terrorist action" or not). I know Orwell is overplayed by he wrote very cogently on precision of language and its effect on political thought.

      Obvs I am not defending their use of this tactic, but I am trying to defend the tactic itself. Rewriting language is just an incredibly powerful tool to shape discussion, and worth respecting

    In my opinion, the desire to achieve equality of outcome, desired by ideologues of this stripe, can only be achieved by ensuring that all people are equally under the boot of the state. As has been demonstrated throughout history, every single time a Marxist state has been attempted death, starvation and untold human misery are the direct result.
