Nice! Thanks. I now see it's a Game of Thrones thing. I haven't watched the show yet. I thought it was a folk rock song from the 70's or something like that. Haha.
Ha! No, that show always talks about how people are gonna sing songs about the characters but those songs never surface, so I felt the need to chip in.
I was shocked when I saw a video of Bridges being questioned by state legislators. When asked about disciplining radical students who were intimidating, harassing, threatening, and even falsely imprisoning people, he claimed that he had no authority to bypass "the process" for managing student conduct. This was either ignorant on his part or deliberately dishonest. State regulations fully permit college administrators to manage student behavior in appropriate ways--and no, they do not have to relegate extreme cases of misbehavior to "the process." He could have--and should have--immediately administratively suspended a number of students and trespassed them from the college pending a later review of their behavior. (Not sure that's correct? Read the relevant RCWs that are cited in Evergreen's student conduct policy.) In fact, Bridges was not factual in his testimony to the legislature. How could he be trusted to be accurate and honest in other venues?
Well done. It hurts me as a long time Olympia resident, a retired teacher and a proud Evergreen graduate to witness the spineless, soul-sucking black hole of silence that the college has become. Shame on you George Bridges!

Benjamin, Thank you for your diligence, courage, and hard work. I believe you are influential because you speak truth to power, and you do so for the benefit of the entire learning community. These two aspects of your work make you a force to be reckoned with. The art of listening can be a very powerful thing. That is what one learns as a student at TESC. Three thoughts come to mind while listening to this video. 1) The disruption of information flow is precisely what Freidrich Hayek was on about. Political and Economic systems (which is what an institution such as a college is at it's core, a collection of systems harmonized for a purpose) cannot operate effectively, rationally, or sustainably without the free flow of information. George has managed to short circuit the flow of information within the campus community through the use of threats of retaliation (fear is the byword), career suicide, and physical threats by proxy; but he cannot control the flow of information between the campus and the outside world. The decline in applications and enrollment are unequivocal signals that the market demand for what George and his cronies are selling is vanishingly small; too small to maintain the college on it's current scale. Therefore, the college must either adapt to the market demand, or shrink to whatever size and scope the market will support. I suspect that would be a student body of a few hundred at most. Such an institution would have no effective economies of scale, and would likely not survive for long. 2) The female professor in this video that you reference as signaling to you a sea change in your view of what inclusion might functionally mean... What she delivers here is a screed against Western Civilization couched as if it were about skin tone. But, it isn't about skin tone at all, unless one is programmatic enough to disregard the swarthy complexions of the Greeks and the Italians who were the originators of this whole Western project, both in it's ancient roots, and in the enlightenment. So, if we discredit all of the academic disciplines, as she does in her screed, then there can be no possible value in an institution such as TESC. And, in this case, what is the purpose of such an institution? Well, simply to provide employment for people who like to profess about the identitarian ideology for it's own sake. This is the height of decadence. To be blunt, her ideology has no utility value. It is literally useless. And, that is why prospective students look elsewhere, and why current students leave. They seek value. They seek utility. 3) I hold out little hope that the Board will awaken from their state of denial in regard to the damage that George has done to TESC. It is clear that he has failed to manage damage control at the outset, threat mitigation at the urging of his chief of police, public relations in the aftermath of his manufactured debacle, or the rebranding project... And, it is the rebranding project that is the most heart breaking of all, to my way of thinking. George, like this female professor in her screed, and like the so called professor who recently accused you of "biting the hand that feeds you", just don't get what TESC was built for, why it was built the way it was, and what made it such an astonishing and effective academic institution. TESC was not built for the purpose of "feeding" students. It was built as an antidote to that.TESC was built as a teaching college for the purpose of facilitating students, faculty, staff, alumni, and surrounding community to feed themselves! It did this through a program that includes a social contract, self evaluations, seminars, minimal administrative overhead, direct student interaction with professors, and the jewel in the crown of TESC, co-learning through individual contracts. George Bridges and his cronies seek to eviscerate or nullify every one of these key components that are the warp and weave of TESC. George Bridges and his identitarian cronies are an existential threat to TESC. A house divided cannot stand. An institution cannot be committed to the Liberal Arts, and simultaneously at war with Western Civilization (which is what the SJW's are about). George is clearly not interested in the Liberal Arts at all. Therefore, he must go. Nature abhors a vacuum. No need to worry, if a properly motivated political economist is chosen to take his place, then it just might be possible for the cancer that he has injected into the heart of the community to be put into remission, and for the necessary reflection, dialogue, and reformation to occur among the faculty. In the long run, the fate of TESC is down to the faculty. What TESC was built for, was to practice engaged learning, to practice asking useful questions, and to help people learn how to be of use to one another. Socrates was also accused of biting the hand that fed him, in a sense. It was a hollow claim. We live in webs of complex interdependence. We have social obligations to one another. And, no one has the right to disparage the legitimacy of another's perspective based simply upon class (being an alum, a former student, and not a high falutin' professor). Such disparagement is an expression of contempt for the entire project. It is disgraceful, and shocking. I pray that the Board will awaken to the fact that TESC is not dealing with the aftermath of a short lived incendiary moment two years ago; it is dealing with a set of absolutely critical questions which MUST be addressed; Who are we now?, What is our heirarchy of values? How do we affirm our core values? Are our institutional structures harmonized in service of those values? What does the social contract mean to us in light of our recent history, and is it a keystone of our community, or a vestige of oppression? Are we a Liberal Arts institution or not? These are not easy questions to address honestly. And, anyone who thinks that they can be addressed honestly in closed session, is in denial about how groups of human beings function. Daylight was necessary at the founding of TESC. Daylight is just as critical at it's reformation. In closing, I would point out that the tradition of using disappearing task forces (DTF's) in order to formulate policy and implement institutional change at TESC is also a key founding attribute of the college. Beware of any task force which becomes permanent. It will take on a life of it's own, like a cancer. This is the most insidious tactic that George Bridges has utilized in erecting his cult of equity and inclusion. It is anathema to the spirit of the project.
You wrote, "what is the purpose of such an institution? Well, simply to provide employment for people who like to profess about the identitarian ideology for it's own sake. This is the height of decadence. " Wow. Beautifully put and savage in its truth.
That's the problem with institutional socialism, it looks good on paper, yet due to human nature always ends up being built on a cult of personality...
Exactly. I think the only reason why the cult of socialism never pulled me in, even when I was a rather SJW-oriented teenager, is because I know more than I wish I knew about how socialism ends up functioning when it expands beyond theory and breaks into real life.
Life teaches you that some things, like a dominant-submissive relationship with a charming but controlling narcissistic sociopath or socialism, are easier to get into than get out of.
I love the idea of socialism - and i'm not disillusioned with it. The problem is that, as with Joe Stalin, people always prefer to concentrate power and responsibility in an individual. Thats the cop out that lets them avoid paying attention and doing their part. Its the same reason that the USA is not a democracy (in spite of the occasional propaganda). The founding fathers understood how fundamentally lazy people are, and how susceptible we are to propaganda and advertising. Socialism is a great idea, whose time will come if and when our species grows the hell up.
As an old man, I wish you young people all the best in cleaning up this mess. My fathers generation opened up to the rot, and mine?...well the conservatives just kicked the can down the road....while the liberals doubled down!
I've lived in Oly for about 9 years. And in that time I've seen it go from lovably quirky Portlandia 2.0 with a good punk scene to literal garbage with meth heads and antifa trustifarians imported from across the nation. This city has always been most defined by Evergreen. At one point that might have made it the center of a cooky yet well thought out mural. Now it's as the blood in the middle of the hobo puke.
I visited Oly in 2012, then again in 2017 when a college employee was trying to recruit my girlfriend to work there. The woman kept going on and on about how "special" the college was, and that they were on the verge of doing something truly "revolutionary" in academia. I noted a distinct difference in the atmosphere of the town in just those five years - a feeling of heaviness or perhaps one could call it oppressiveness in the air. I wish more locals would come out and talk about what they have witnessed in their town over the past few years, and tell how they feel about it.
You have been the go-to person on line for understanding the deep history of Evergreen and for knowledge about the individual players in that conflagration. Thanks for all that effort, and it was deeply appreciated here...I referred others to your videos frequently.
A room full of "educated" young adults and one professor....3-4 hysterical people, 2 students walk out, and the only coherent sentence in the 5 minute clip is shut down BY THE PROFESSOR (who took sides in the fight and used profanity in front of students).
I would have asked for a refund. I wouldn't appreciate racking up student debt to just be told I'm a racist everyday even though I treat everybody with respect.
I recently read an essay called _The Last Four Years at Cornell_ by Nathan Tarcov which details a strikingly similar breakdown to that of Evergreen. All the elements were there despite the 50-odd years between the two. There were armed, 'minority', social justice activists stoking racial tensions, and engaged in anti-intellectual, incivil sometimes criminal protests. The faculty and administration were sympathetic and gave-in to the activists more often than not. Even many of the demands were the same as they are now - segregation and racialised curricula.
Just finished watching Survivor and then I find an update to Evergreen's edition. Is George's alliance solid? Is this being orchestrated also by some members of the faculty of colour who have spied their chance? Does George have a hidden immunity idol?
Another gem of truth and common sense critical thinking from the Boyce of Truth, expressed exquisitely. Thank you for exposing the insanity that is Evergreen since George was installed. I truly hope your lone voice in the wilderness will be heard....Hey hey, ho ho, Georgie has gotta go! What do we want: Uninstall Georgie....When do we want it: now!
This is why older SANE people need to go back to school. Older, financially stable, people need to stand up to this students and professors. I still get the same feeling watching your videos today that I got when you first started. I get the feeling I am watching see.strange cult with all it's bizarre rituals and dogma. It's a strange feeling. I see grown men and wen and yet they don't seem to be living in the same reality as myself.
I wonder how Mrs. Brown has been since she left. Hope she was able to serve somewhere that actually appreciated her. It would suck if the stain that is Evergreen left any marks against her record.
It seems like George Bridges is a man incapable of honesty and humility. Given the chance, he'd do his customary spewing of BS and obfuscation of issues.
"Sure, let's discuss this, the place? Lord Mansion., WA. I think you'll like it there." Where for some really odd reason they have a framed picture of Admiral Akbar in the hallway, must have some big Star Wars fans or a celebration of diverse inclusiveness that extends to squid people.
What you are doing is very admirable. It used to be called investigative reporting before people were encouraged to come to conclusions first and make the events fit the story. I’d like to direct you to a resource for you and anyone else interested in the Evergreen catastrophe. Way up here in Canada, we have an organization called the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship. SAFS. It has a website that reports the latest outrages, and the letter the organization writes to the university in response. SAFS has a newsletter that has articles be scholars trying to make sense of the problems. The latest newsletter has a review of a book about Victimhood Culture, in contrast to Dignity Culture. It makes sense of a lot of what you are seeing. The site is open to the public. All the ask is that the author be cited. Lots of material in the back issues, too. Here’s the website: www.safs.ca/newsletters/index.php . Also, keep those kitties coming. I think it should be made mandatory to have cute cat footage after the eleven o’clock television news, so everyone could get blood pressure down and be able to sleep at night.
Well I don’t know if this video is monetized or not but I do find it curious that it landed on my Recommend page - this one and two others on the College of Clowns series. Interesting, in a sad and pathetic way
Very gratified that I have loyally waited 2 years to finally see Benjamin get down and dirty with passion railing against Bridges and his hold on Evergreen. Whatever happens from now on this video will probably serve as closure for me. Though I do wish a speedy response to the FOI requests so that darned documentary is finished. And Good luck with the letter.
Education is a business and like any business, it needs a shakeup from to move forward. The entire Evergreen Saga has shown that it has gone from being a college that educated its students to a business that panders to its paying customers. Effectively he has created a very expensive daycare center.
That sounds a bit too capitalistic for what is seemingly going on here... my guess is that George Bridges is a communist who has a very precise agenda, hence all the secrecy and obsession with helping to manipulate angry black students to be the most aggressive proponents of thoroughly communist ideas. I have a video called "intersectional feminism is communist particle board". It's an hour long, but it covers everything you need to know about this type of person.
You say education is a business and then criticize Evergreen for putting the customer first. So, make up your mind. In what ways should it and shouldn’t it be like a business?
@@anomietoponymie2140Toponymie what I said was accurate, they are catering to a small minority of people at the detriment of the rest, for it to succeed as a business it needs to go back to its core values of education and stop behaving like a daycare center for grievance warriors. However, I understand your point.
James C I think education may have some business aspects, an educational institution does have money coming in and money going out. That money needs to be managed and any decisions the institution takes have their financial aspects. An educational institution also has a reputation which is its most important but non material asset and that reputation can, but only to a certain extent, be handled through marketing and other techniques used in business. But I believe the similarities stop there. The purpose of an educational institution is not to make a profit, the purpose is to prepare young people to take over from older generations to perpetuate, and hopefully also improve, the society we live in.

Then I'm going to make your day, Benny. J.K. Actually, there are two rules that have come to be in the English language: (1) "Begging the question" must aways be used incorrectly, to mean "raising the issue." And... (2) Whenever someone lists three or more occupations, doctor and lawyer must both be included in the list. Chomsky was the one exception to rule (1), and elegantly so: "The question is not answered by begging it." Poetry.
14:33 Did George just admit that Evergreen has become a state sponsored lobbyist? Also, stop teaching your students to be racist. Then people might want to engage with them. Hey, what's Jamal up to?
His belief system broke it. His belief system can't fix it. Unfortunately, its probably the same people that hired Bridges that will hire a replacement.

@@david8905 I'm actually a fucking writer and was published as a kid. I should really bug benji about that. You have a point.
Good luck Boyce, I can certainly see how Bridges has been the center piece catalyst to the Evergreen insanity.
He's merely the standard bearer. There are plenty of people standing silently behind him.
I live in a university town. What gives me assurance evergreen won't happen to my city is that we don't have George Bridges
It's been enthralling the entire time.
What a train wreck
So sad that you had to go through that living hell. Gone though it as well. Always enjoy your bright light. Keep shining!
You have been the go-to person on line for understanding the deep history of Evergreen and for knowledge about the individual players in that conflagration. Thanks for all that effort, and it was deeply appreciated here...I referred others to your videos frequently.
LOVED the vertical video comment! SO TRUE! SO ANNOYING!
OMG, just listened to that struggle session.
Thank you for exposing all this.
A room full of "educated" young adults and one professor....3-4 hysterical people, 2 students walk out, and the only coherent sentence in the 5 minute clip is shut down BY THE PROFESSOR (who took sides in the fight and used profanity in front of students).
In this video, you LITERALLY describe what has been going on at The Johns Hopkins University and, especially, at the Peabody Institute of JHU.
The 7 dislikes are George and the other faculty members.
He's making the value of a diploma from evergreen useless.
Evergreens new motto" A Bridge to Far".
"A Bridges Too Far"
I would have asked for a refund. I wouldn't appreciate racking up student debt to just be told I'm a racist everyday even though I treat everybody with respect.
You can probably sue them for not providing the documents in a timely manner.
that acapella intro sounded a lot like "Good Day Sunshine" by The Beatles, nice job Ben!
following your work very closely from Buenos Aires, Argentina
I hadn’t made that connection! Goddamn Beatles beating me to the punch of every jingle!
i've loved your videos for two years now. I wish there will be a way to turn everything around, but i'm not hopeful.
How could any parent feel safe letting their children attend this psycho ward that let's the inmates run the institution.??
Is singing the new standard Boyce opener? Not complaining, just hope it doesn't become less spontaneous over time
Another gem of truth and common sense critical thinking from the Boyce of Truth, expressed exquisitely. Thank you for exposing the insanity that is Evergreen since George was installed. I truly hope your lone voice in the wilderness will be heard....Hey hey, ho ho, Georgie has gotta go! What do we want: Uninstall Georgie....When do we want it: now!
8:09 "This I believe...." I was raised Catholic and those words are 100% how you begin a religious affirmation.
Wow. Awfully heated my friend! I respect what you're doing Benjamin. When do we start our own school of critical thinking?
Well done sir. George elicits the words shifty and entitled for me.
This could easily be called "The case against Evergreen getting a single publicly funded dollar".
I will never forget that first voice of freedom from inside the asylum - been watching ever since..
Why doesn't the college have it's faculty and students threaten the legislators . Isn't that the way things are done at Evergreen?
That he wasn't removed from his position is the larger issue here. It's unfathomable.
I'm English, watching from England I find it all fascinating, Horrifying, but fascinating, great Videos
Keep givin' em hell, Benjamin!
Hahahaha!
Benjamin, have you extended an offer of interview or discussion to George?
It seems like George Bridges is a man incapable of honesty and humility. Given the chance, he'd do his customary spewing of BS and obfuscation of issues.
"Sure, let's discuss this, the place? Lord Mansion., WA. I think you'll like it there."
Where for some really odd reason they have a framed picture of Admiral Akbar in the hallway, must have some big Star Wars fans or a celebration of diverse inclusiveness that extends to squid people.
Interesting, in a sad and pathetic way
Speaking truth to cowards!
Truly, you are such a talented writer.
One inane note, it sounded like you were saying the State Legislator instead of Legislature. I assume that this is going to more than one of them
Wipe out Evergreen college. Close it down. Sell off the property and assets. It's done.
They should practice what they preach and just GIVE the whole damn thing back to their local Native Americans.
Great work Ben
Very gratified that I have loyally waited 2 years to finally see Benjamin get down and dirty with passion railing against Bridges and his hold on Evergreen. Whatever happens from now on this video will probably serve as closure for me.
Though I do wish a speedy response to the FOI requests so that darned documentary is finished.
And Good luck with the letter.
I never realized how much George Bridges looks like George Costanza until this video popped up. We shall now continue with the Airing of Grievances.
Benjamin Boyce for president of Evergreen college 👌
@@anomietoponymie2140 good point, addressing all the missing elements of my own statement and much clearer overall
"BB -the most prolific Evergreener"
I 2nd that! Lol
Well done evaluating this situation. Thx bb
I nominate Jussie Smollett to be the new Pres of ESC
I second that.
Brilliant! I'll be able to get all of my humor needs satisfied in one place.
Actually, I'd need them to also find a place for Miranda Veracruz de la Jolla Cardinal--whoops, I mean Alexandria Occasio-Cortez.
George bridges is a cautionary case study in what's going to happen in every institution....
Plus, he moves his hands when he speaks! Unacceptable!
The sad thing is....would they replace
George with someone worse than him?😳
I appreciate your insights into that madhouse. I also liked the cats.
I totally thought that was the case against George Costanza when I first saw the thumbnail
Very good point on Self-evaluation B2
Man, you are dangerous! Keep up the good work.
Good job Boyce. Evergreen needs to be shut down.
Benjamin! I haven't weighed in for a while but have been watching. I actually use a lot of your work on my RUclips channel I started. Just click on my radioactive Bluebird avatar here. Thanks for all you do--I will donate again soon! Bless you, brutha! Over.
hey benjamin, great video, keep it up. Would love to see you livestream with Alfsvoid again!
Hopefully someone does a 'Where are they now?' video, I mean it would be interesting to see who wised up and who has doubled down.
thank you. and thanks for the cat action at the end...
Good work, thanks for sharing.
It is no longer Evergreen, but an unreasonable facsimile. Invasion of the College Snatchers.
How the hell is this still going on unchecked? It was examined in a congressional hearing for fucks sake. Does nobody have any power to do anything?
This is insane!
From all the videos I've watch of yours and others concerning this whole incident... george reminds me a LOT of the mayor of Baltimore during the riots there... I enjoy your videos
It sounds like George may be a psychopath.
I remember those eyes.
Well stated, keep it up.
Nothing happened. Apparently, the faculty love them some George Bridges. And the state does, too!
cool..I found something more interesting than the morning news
At 18:57, look up the difference between "begs the question", and "raises the question". For the love of god.
Nothing brings me the same pleasure as the exasperated corrections of people smarter than me.
Then I'm going to make your day, Benny.
J.K. Actually, there are two rules that have come to be in the English language:
(1) "Begging the question" must aways be used incorrectly, to mean "raising the issue." And...
(2) Whenever someone lists three or more occupations, doctor and lawyer must both be included in the list.
Chomsky was the one exception to rule (1), and elegantly so: "The question is not answered by begging it." Poetry.
Keep going Ben.
Does this mean George is getting a raise?
14:33 Did George just admit that Evergreen has become a state sponsored lobbyist?
Also, stop teaching your students to be racist. Then people might want to engage with them.
Hey, what's Jamal up to?
They are going to give Bridges a raise!
His belief system broke it. His belief system can't fix it. Unfortunately, its probably the same people that hired Bridges that will hire a replacement.
This is a perfect example of a place that badly needs a class action civil rights lawsuit.......sue, then invest that money using it to sue some more then salt the earth.......this must never happen again
I wonder, what is George's "net worth" gonna be when he makes like a tree and leaves?
It is like a wise man used to say, follow the money!
I love your voice! I wish I could listen to you read books lol
Can you tell those cats to keep it down a little bit, Benjamin...😾
I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
