I was just involved in a renovation in Canadian high school so I got to go into classrooms and see what's on the walls and what's on the walls of the hallways and it blew my mind. Of course, there was stuff about how white males have all the privilege, even though the school is 80% Indian. There were things on the walls like "You are more than your sexual identity", which is an argument nobody is claiming. Somebody who hates trans people with a passion, understands that they are more than just their sexual identity. They are desperate for bogeyman. It was absolutely pathetic and made me lose. What little respect I had for the education system.

Many universities allow for open discourse. In fact, a lot of American ones are actually largely conservative. These include Clemson, Arkansas State, University of Alabama, LSU, etc. This isn't a universal occurrence.

I believe climate change is real but that we also do the know proportionally how much humans are responsible. That used to be the basis for the theory. But the only scientists who could even dream of reminding us that it is a theory, are those with tenure. And even then, tenure won't save you from being ostracized.

These kids do not warrant any education post high school. Walmart, McDonalds, et al need help. I'm not disparaging anybody who works at those places. But it's disgusting that there's public money being spent to coddle these imbeciles for four years, when they should be out working and trying to supporting themselves. These students just alienated a brilliant, caring, professor who is actually on their side. By calling everyone racist they are diluting the meaning of an extremely important word. Now, when I hear someone being called racist, I don't even give it a second thought. It's become an insult that carries about as much weight as calling someone dumb. They have done the world and themselves a disservice. What they did to Professor Weinstein was cruel. You can check on line. He was a very high rated professor by his students. It terrifies me that these students choose to embrace ignorance over truth. This exact same type of protesting is what caused Communist Russia, the most evil nation to exist is centuries to become a world power. This neo bigotry must be stopped. But how do can you reason iwth someone that is okay with being wrong because it feels good? Imagine the types of leaders they would put in power? This truly is a danger to our civilization. Even more frightening are the professors who actually endorse the neo bigotry and most frightening of all are the administrators who are now letting the students set University Policy. If anyone has any ideas on how to stop this I'd love to hear them. My fear is that the government is going to have to step in and write even more laws when frees speech is already guaranteed in the constitution. I feel like I'm living int he twilight zone.

In my school in the UK, that attitude would have meant I had to switch schools or get a job. Not mentioned, the gang of students shown had the administration stand down campus security claiming that it's presence causes fear and harm for students. Then that gang patrolled campus with baseball bats looking for someone. Likely Brett, who was warned by the head of campus security not to come to campus. He was put on leave. Eventually even the president who tried to appease students invited greater levels of abuse as he did not check students authoritarian behaviour. Enrolment plummeted. He left. Because Brett stood up against this mob, he marked himself out as having a high level of integrity, to say what he believed despite the cost. His views on many areas are worthy on that basis of careful consideration. But what if when there's an actual problem in the system and u have no way out, this behaviour is actually appropriate.
Examples: when u've taken loans u cant hope to off without a decent job and ur college won't give u a passing grade cuz they want published research articles for an UG degree so they can boost their college's rankings at the expense of their students.
when the professor treats u like a machine and doesn't care if u were on a hospital bed the past month and maybe consider that late assignment even though he has the power to do so, the issue gets delegated and u never hear back. or u get back a "noted" with no action taken.
