It's amazing how much Chinese influences there are with this style, especially the low block which is reminiscent of the body strike seen in many Kung Fu styles, it makes sense since Tangsoodo means the way of the Tang fist, Tang as in the Tang dynasty. Btw I knew about this style because of Havik from MK and Johnny Laurence from Karate Kid 😂
Y'know the low block really works, when I was a kid I did martial arts and in my later teens a man tried to assault me. He came from out of nowhere and jumped on me from the front with his knee but my instincts from training just took over and I low blocked which resulted in me falling on my side which was much harder for him to pin me so he got up and ran away. If I hadn't blocked I would have had all my front vulnerable areas exposed and I don't know if I would have been sexually assaulted killed or both. Do all your training seriously and it will help you somehow! It helped a 54kg teen girl!
I like your list… I think for myself I’d substitute the Yup Cha Ki with the Ahp Cha Ki. I love how Lyoto Machida has used it so successfully in his mma fights.
I think it would get more into specific moves and scenarios, but top 25 would be too much to remember effectively as principles . If you like this video i will do another one like it in the future
Good evening, Sah Bum Nim. Do you know an equivalent technique in Tang Soo Do to the foot sweep in judo? I am pretty new to the Tang Soo Do world and trying to "translate" my previous martial art background into Tang Soo Do techniques. Ko Map Sum Ni Da.
Shotokan and shorin-ryu both come from the shuri-te tradition. Tang Soo Do comes from shotokan. They're all related to each other and share some similarities regardless of what other influences has been added to each art.

I’ve broken more ribs (accidentally) with side kick. So for me it’s my most powerful weapon
@@HOVTangSooDo Haha, yes it's a great technique to be sure.
Thank you for sharing these defense techniques sensei
Anytime, if there are any other areas you'd like me to cover, please let me know

Welcome to a class anytime. Good Self Defence should always be easy to learn, remember and train
I would love to see a top 25 but if it would take to much time I understand

So we have sweeping techniques in TSD. The Korean word would be "Bahl Mok Cha Ki" and translates as Ankle Sweep kick. hope that helps
@@HOVTangSooDo it does!! Ko map sum ni da!
I practice shotokan karate and shori Ryu karate it's very similar to tang soo do
Yes. i'm sure there's a lot of cross over

@@barrettokarate I totally agree
Do you have any previous martial art experience??
Yes
Doreo chagi is much faster and more applicable. Otherwise not bad at all.
HOW MANY KATAS AND WEAPONS KATAS DOES TANG SOO DO HAVE?
@@DanielRodriguez-x1z I know 17 hand forms and 13 weapon forms
👍
Leo said he loves tang so do
Very glad . Enjoy your training
not bad video. not sure how realistic it is but not too bad.
It’s just my personal opinion. In reality not being there is the best self defence . Thank you for watching
