Javid, I love this painting and especially how you used the washes to create the sky and water colors . I have never seen anyone use a tool to scape off paint down to the white of the paper. At first I was shocked and then looked at the beauty of the results. Makes me want to try it on my next landscape and also the splattering of drops of colors, both dark and white .

May I ask, how do you keep the paper flat (no buckles), while bringing quite a lot of water on it in the beginning? Is it maybe 640 gsm? I really would like to know how to achieve that. Thank you.

The neutral you mention , are you thinking of what's added to the cobalt /ultramarine mix around the 2:00 mark? The pigment in the upper right spot on Javids palette?

Well the fact is Javid always writes about neutral tints being used which are actually greytones but I've never understood what they are used for and where are they being used up in javid's video, if you could help me out with the question, I'd be quite delighted.

Yes, I paint every day. It takes quite a lot of restraint to get anything else done haha. I know that Javid uses neutral tint in his palette and when I'm painting along I notice it's added into most aspects of his landscapes in various strengths. So that's a combination of PBk 6, PV 19, and PB 15. When combined with pyroll orange or burnt Sienna it can create gorgeous, highly saturated neutrals. I'm not sure if I answered your question correctly? Hopefully we'll get some clarification at some point from the artist. Can you share any links that you've found for written info? Thanks so much!

If you are asking about greytones, I just have googled neutral tints and it showed up. I read about it but wasn't sure where it was being used in the video.
