I love how you show us how you mix colors, how you dilute, how you add the water to the paint. So many artist just show us their actual painting, but that only teaches us half the process. As a new beginner, I love your style and find it extremely helpful as I learn this form of painting. Thank you.

My friends response to a person who remarked that using gouache is "cheating" was , "Well, then, if you don't make your own watercolor paper, thats cheating too!"
as i painted with you i said to myself, “ these colors won’t work, there’re not right “ i said this isn’t going to come out right! but i followed along and oh my!!!! i can’t believe it, my first seascape & not bad! i’m pushing 70 and i just started watercolor 4 yrs ago, no lessons!!! ty!!!
I have watched many watercolor tutorials, but none of them hasn’t shown how to mix easily the same color in different volume untill you did so. I’m happy I found you channel. I’m going to follow it. I like you way to explain. I learned a lot! Thank you so much!

I love your tutorial on how to paint the sea and sky, and told us first to look at perspective using colors and size of waves and aerial colors are weaker to the horizon. I liked the use of white gouache , which I was initially taught not to use . It certainly helps with waves foam. I also liked the use of dry brush over the beach and letting white paper showing through . I will be buying your book as you can send by email. So much better in saving money on international postage ! Thank you Alek , so happy I found your video, and love the music and sounds of the sea and Birds!!

Alek, that is a beautiful sight. Prussian blue is such a beautiful color. I use it every chance I get, especially for water. The way you used it at the horizon... inspired!

Hi Alek, thank you so much for your tutorials. As a beginner, I find them very, very helpful. I especially like your suggestion to use a turquoise wash over the gray water. It creates a beautiful and very realistic color.

You are correct Mr. Krylow, Black Headed Gulls have black tipped white flight feathers although they lack a dark hood during winter & Sabines have grey inner portion of wing with black outer flight feathers enclosing a triangular white patch, along with their dark hood they also sport black tipped forked tail. Thanks for the video, excellent tutorial.

Well I gave it a shot! Followed along with RUclips, stopping it at each little step and enjoyed it very much,after I have painted something I feel so relaxed and easy. I managed to make the sea look fairly similar to yours and quite liked it. The sky did not turn out so well, kind of muddy so I tried just the sky again. This mixing that you do so effortlessly is going to need a lot more practice. I very much like the way you teach and stop to show things exactly. I plan to buy your book down the road a bit. As a beginner painter, I had to put myself on a budget. Thank you very much Alex, am glad I found you.

I've been learning watercolor for 2-3 months and even though this is way above my skill level I tried it. Mixing up the 4 strengths of paint will help me forever. The sky came out beautifully the second time but the sea looks a little rough especially because I have painted too much white, so less is better there! All in all, you have helped me in my journey. I really like your style. I'll be trying again! (and again and again, LOL) The birds! ❤ Thank You!

Terns have dark heads and dark wing tips so you can tell those people to shove it! You do great and inspiring work, Mr. Krylow.

Many thanks, I learnt something new today. Mixing Paynes grey in four different strengths: Dark. Medium. Weak, and Washy Weak.

This is a very instructive video. The white gouache is great. To me, at least it is all about the picture with this kind of picture. If I want to display the beautiful effects of watercolor I paint leaves and or flowers. I loved the sound effects too.....it took me back to the sea again to the sun and the sea and the skies with the sea birds crying.....
