Hey guys, today welcome to my new watercolor video tutorial. In this watercolor lesson you will know my watercolor learning process which has been helping me to grow with watercolor. recently i have attracted toward watercolor flowers and various plants, i never painted plant in watercolor before, so i have followed my old watercolor method to get expert in specific subject. This watecolor process video will show you how i plan my watercolor painting and get better in it. Hope you will enjoy this tutorial :)

Cant believe peoples comments. I know you're an accomplished Artist, and when you say you are practicing something new, that is exactly what you are doing. I love and have been inspired by your work. And your generosity in sharing your skills. Watercolour painting is a challenge. So thank you.
You can add much more pop to your botanical paintings & still life it you start adding complimentary colors. This prevents your art from being too green. The old masters would add violets and oranges into the greens, and sometimes yellows and pinks. It will make your art pop.
This is an invaluable lesson on no matter how talented and accomplished someone is (as you clearly are) each day brings something new to experience. Should you approach it, see it, experience it as though you’d already done so many days and years before? No! Approach it as though it’s something brand new to your world, and you start from the very beginning of everything you’ve learned and begin developing it again from a fresh start. Each time it’s a fresh start. If you can’t see the world with fresh eyes, how can you depict that in a painting without it looking dull and lifeless? This was incredibly generous of you to share with us exactly this. I’ve seen so many of your video’s and yet this may very well be my favorite. Thank you.

And your work it is actually beautiful. I'm quite surprised by the fact that plants are a relatively new subject for you because you're very good at painting them

Love your style. I also paint on my balcony every morning after i walk my dog. It's my favorite time of day. My view is of a natural spring fed pond w/many birds and ducks that serenade me while i paint. Namaste.

You didn’t explain what you learned or how this changed your life. Without that information, this video is not at all helpful or instructive.
It's a wordless explanation, perhaps. I feel it. With this tutorial, my eyes are opened to the instant beauty and vitality of life plus watercolor all around me. The fact that it's a daily practice inspires me. I'm kinda thinking this will change my life too. Good luck to you as well. :)

A great example of what intentional work can do for your practice. Don’t know why you are signing sketches like cheques though. Perhaps an initial would be more discreet/aesthetic? Sorry it’s a pet peeve when a signature is a large element in a finished piece, let alone a sketch.
But I thought the jump from day one to two was very instructive for anybody trying to master this most beautiful and difficult of media.
May I ask what your sketchbook is please? It’s beautiful white paper and I love the way your colors are drying on it. Thank you
Oh yes, it’s good. This is not watercolor paper, it is general sketch paper.

Hi there, I was attracted to start the video because it said you changed your life. Could you explain how so? The paintings are beautiful, but it really looks like a warm up.
Well… the process you see in this plant painting is my real attempt to paint plants in watercolor, I never painted plants before. Similarly, when I started painting cityscapes I was doing the same thing, I was keep repeating the same subject until i got the result I visualised, this particular behaviour given me lot of learning that was super exciting
The title says it is an exercise…exercise can change your life!
I agree that the title is exaggerated and somewhat misleading.
But it was fascinating to watch someone who is accomplished in painting watercolour cityscapes then tackle another subject that he felt he didn't know. I thought that once you can handle the medium, you can paint any subject.
He didn't give up after the first painting and say "well, I'm not very good at this so I'll give up altogether and go back to my cityscapes". He kept practicing! And then he broke it down into a smaller segment and practiced that. And then he kept going until he could put all the parts together.
So now when I feel I'm not very good at drawing/painting something I will think of this video and plod through more practice.

Beautiful. Nice to find someone who is in India and using Camlin products. I am in UK but spend a lot of time in Kerala. I find the rain and humidity buckle paper and make my pan watercolours permanently sticky! I find tubes better there. Guess you are in North India?

What sketchbook are you using and wherevcan we buy it?
Hello, your watercolour style is really great. Your watercolour sketchbook, what’s brand and where to find it? I bought Canson XL cold pressed and I just realised I need to stretch it with water first so, its time consuming for me since I’m just a beginner. I will just use it when I’m ready and expert. I need something like yours so I can sketch and practice daily anytime anywhere.
Interestingly this sketchbook is not a watercolor paper, this is general sketch paper. What I love about this paper is no mater how much water I pour on paper it’s not buckling-up. I think it has good amount of cotton in it.
But you didn’t say what sketchbook it is. I’d like to know too.
I would also like to know a sketchbook that doesn't buckle for watercolour. Niton can you share where it is from? Thank you

Unless someone can talk about how to sketch, in these watercolor videos, then most beginners will only be spreading water around a piece of paper, with a brush.

Lovely watercolor sketches, fun to watch how they each develop. I'm confused about what you mean by "The watercolor exercise that changed your life". Do you mean painting the same subject several times, to learn new things? or was it painting plants that changed everything? or something else?
I read his earlier reply to a similar question. He commented that painting the same subject repeatedly. Personally I also use this exercise to sharpen my painting/drawing skills. He did change how much he included in the following paints and layering techniques here and there.
Probably I should elaborate this more in my coming videos soon, I have a point to say, I just don’t want people to get confused with my statement 😀
I have a question. Have you tried camel artist watercolor indigo? Is it similar to winsor indigo color? I was confused if the camel indigo looks similar to other blues of camel. No youtubers have ever swatched all the 48 colors of camel watercolor. So I am confused if i should buy it

Inspiring, beautiful, great practice, but I don’t understand how this changed your life. Should I be able to understand? Well, then something must be missing in me. This makes me sad.
@@sunltcloud he is new to painting botanicals, mainly a landscape artist. I think this is why he said it changed his painting life. Nothing for you to be sad about, he is happy.
@@sunltcloud 💜Don’t be sad! 💜Fill in the blanks that resonate for you! 💜 Look at the simple things and see what catches your imagination (eg sitting outside, connecting to a living plant instead of buildings, listening to the beautiful calm music with no talking, enjoying the texture as he paints even one leaf, being calm and able to slow down… putting even one leaf on your own paper - even if it’s a pencil or pen and you do not have paint… feel & experience your very own feeling! Being able to paint a plant three days in a row - knowing each one will be different because you are different each day. I have struggled with life threatening autoimmune illness that makes me go into anaphylactic reactions daily - 🎉depression, severe and debilitating side effects to chemo and medications that keep me alive. I share this not because I want sympathy, but because trying to look for the good in something every day - even when you are in a hospital bed with tubes down your throat, I know this art will take you on a healing journey… and help you go from feeling hopeless to finding peace within. Let your sadness flow, let it flow… and let life show you one thing each day to draw or paint or just look at and FEEL the unconditional love that comes from letting go and allowing the stream of life carry you! Thank you for not speaking. This allowed me to observe what you did and changed on my own. It trains my observation skills and creates lasting "aha"-moments. Maybe I do a little colour background for it from color paper (cartoon). Your second painting is a masterpiece. I also love your little watercolor sketch book. Very good idea.

I find that in this video, the colours are somewhat overworked. I am seeking the western contemporary style which relies on minimal application and working. I hope you don’t mind my saying this.
