  • @Ghazannn

    1:19 What I took from both TLOK and ATLA is that the lion turtles used to give bending temporarily to people who lived on them. Once they stopped, the people who had the bending got to keep it and pass the "gene" down (whether it be active or not, like Katara and Katara’s parents) while those who didn’t get the bending are the current nonbenders (with those who didn’t have the "activated gene").
    The new benders who got their power from the turtles then learned how to master from the 4 orignal benders (dragons, sky bisons, badgermoles and the moon).
    I feel like this is emphasised within the fact that Wan got his firebending from a lion turtle and THEN mastered it with the dragon dance with an actual dragon.
    The original benders and the lion turtles stories are not disconnected.

    Waterbending is the second element that I love in the Avatar universe. I love how diverse and creative it is as an element, a source of literal push and pull on the environment, it’s powerful but not too overpowered, the characters who are waterbenders are literal Swiss Army knives in combat depending on the amount of water around them presently, and how a master could manipulate the unseen water around them to be used as a weapon.

      Hama's style of drawing water from everything isn't so much a style unto itself as it is just her being more resourceful and experienced. Her actual bending style, that being the way she uses the water once she's gathered it, is probably rooted in the style of the Southern Water Tribe, although also probably refined into a unique variant due to many long years of isolation from the rest of the Water Tribe.

    People saying one of the four elements is strongest need to rewatch the show. One of the most basic things you'll know about bending is that the elements are all balanced, and strength is dependant on the benders as individuals.

    Waterbenders can also perform sweatbending like how Katara did when her and Toph was looked in a wood prison. So they can be powerful in the desert.

    Rewatching ATLA got me thinking when the Puppet-master episode was up. If water-benders become more powerful during the full moon, would water-tribe born Avatars like Kuruk be the most powerful? And would all Avatars become much more stronger with their water-bending during the full moon?

    Something I wanna point out is that Waterbenders seem to have the ability to control air temperature if their is moisture in the air

    A air bender can basically water bend if it controls the air around the water

    • @zenzonerzz4789
      @zenzonerzz4789 4 года назад +2

      With that logic, waterbenders can bend air using the moisture in the air. And it won't be easy bending water with air. It would take alot of wind to get it off the ground(atleast size able waters). It would be more like water pushing instead of bending.

    I would be so cool if waterbenders could redirect lighting by storing it in a bubble of something and then creat a lighting water whip lol, the lighting would not hurt the waterbender if the water is not touching the user

    One thing that doesn't make sense :
    Lunar eclipse is NOT the absence of the moon. Only the absence of the MOONLIGHT.
    A lunar eclipse should not affect the power of waterbenders, because they learned to use their power through witnessing the MOON'S GRAVITATIONAL PULL'S effect on the ocean.
    If a lunar eclipse happens, the only thing disappears is the MOONLIGHT, not the GRAVITATIONAL PULL.
    Guess that's just another plothole the writers never thought of.

      YES
      And that's why firebenders lose their power during solar eclipse
      It's because a solar eclipse is an absence of SUNLIGHT, which provide most HEAT and ENERGY, which FUELS FIREBENDING.
      Remove the light & the heat = Removing the fuel
      No fuel = No firebending

    • @NabilaNurSiti
      @NabilaNurSiti 4 года назад +1

      Yeah, maybe the waterbenders are too stupid to realize that the moon is actually STILL there and not disappears.

    • @DzakaRaihan
      @DzakaRaihan 4 года назад +2

      @@NabilaNurSiti that's also why the waterbenders are STILL able to waterbend even though the moon is covered with thick clouds.
      The LIGHT disappeared, but the GRAVITATIONAL PULL doesnt.

  • @stephylynnpatch
    @stephylynnpatch 4 года назад

    After the lion turtle stopped granting their powers no one else gained the abilities except the next generations. The benders that already had the innate power from the lion turtles. They learned the finer skills of bending from the animals or moon and oceans spirits, but they did not grant power if this was the case anyone one could learn bender and this isn't how things work in this universe.

    So I've noticed you did explanations on the governing powers of each of the elements you've done you've done are nomads Fire Nation Southern Southern Northern end swamp tribe for water benders and then so that means you've done so the only ones left to do are the Earth nature earth Kingdom and the Earth bending
