Goff has lead a team to the SB and another team (The Lions!) to their first ever NFC Championship. Dan Marino only ever made it to 1 SB, and he's a legend. Goff is worth the money
Top 5 QB, straight up, he took that with his playoff performance last year. Just entering his prime too. 103.3 QB rating in playoffs, 5-4 Yes, Goff has an elite oline but all the more reason to invest in him long term as you inow your investment will be protected. Goff is a franchise QB...end of story!
@@trumanlangford3270 He consistently makes accurate throws to the right guy with a strong arm that gets it there quick, equating to a 68% completion rate (equal to Mahomes) on a team with the 5th most drops in the NFL is actually elite. Passing yards 2nd, elite. Almost broke the NFL all time record for most passes without an interception (ended up 2nd), elite. Great pocket presence, to go with quick decision-making = only the 25th most sacked QB in the last two years. Only the 23rd most interceptions in the same period, despite the 2nd-most attempts of all QBs. Elite, and elite. Leading a perennial loser like the Lions to their first playoff win in 32 years, then another, playing at a 103.3 QB rating in these 3 crunchtime playoff games, elite. The rest of his stats are ONLY top 10, knocking him out of elite status, but only barely. You have no argument that can counter these facts. Goff haters begone until you can.
you make it sound as if he's getting all of $53 million a year, you have to remember that about 25 million of that contract is incentives of which 90% are unachievable, and if they prorate a lot of his guaranteed money since it is an extension, not a new contract it knocks his per year about down to a very manageable to upper $30 to low $40 mil a year... a very team-friendly deal.
Great trade Lions are so lucky to have had Matt Stafford for 13 years and now Jared Goff for 8+ . This is the 3rd team Goff has had to turn around from being losers into winners. It's what he does and unlike Mahomes who's been with Andy Reid his entire career Goff proved he doesn't need Sean McVay to be a winner.
Well, that's a pale comparison and a pretty misguided opinion. The simple truth is that Jeff Fisher drafted Goff and under Fisher, Goff was terrible. Goff's success in Detroit has a LOT to do with their OC, Ben Johnson, who is constantly being compared to McVay and also constantly being hit with head coach offers. Mark Brunell as QB's coach in Detroit also has a lot with the Detroit transition and helping Goff ease into it. Don't kid yourself, Goff, like so many others, can't thrive without support.
Jared is technically a superior passer compared to Dak and way better than Lamar but they get all the press. You know why. But I’d rather have Goff than three-fourths of the NFL quarterbacks even though the criticism that he’s “soft” might have some merit. He more than makes up for it with brains, and a beautiful looking ball when thrown.
2:18 “It’s hard to argue with the results” turns into 2:49 “I’ll grant you this: he wasn’t always the most productive person on the field as far as stats go…”
Us lions fans appreciate him and we showed it at the draft when we chanted his name. There are a few that think he was paid too much but no one in Detroit is saying that they don’t like Goff.
WRONG! ... Lions did not have have elite pass pro, #18 in pressure rate. The receivers had below average open scores. The backs were good, but Goff won games without much run support --- Tampa (regular season) and Rams (WC round).

Everything you posted is correct,
except he "are unachievable" part.
The Lions are back at it AGAIN
Back at what🤔
As soon as Ben Johnson leaves for a head coaching job, this ride is over.
good takes, good video
Splendid!!
