I've never tightened oil filters by anything other than my own hand; mostly because I really don't see a reason for them to be anymore tight than that. I had to remove an oil filter once for a friend, it was obvious that the filter was put on with some sort of tool by the marks on the can and how tight it was on.
I've had my 2003 Nissan frontier since it was brand new and I've always taken the filter off by going through the top.. major pain in the butt since I have big arms and big hands
Never knew how easy this is! Now I can do mine and save hella money and be able to take care of my truck longer thanks gentlemen
Its the same for just about everything in life, especially on vehicles. Learning basic maintenance yourself you save a ton of money each year.
Thank you this truck is my first car and my first time changing the oil on it you guys helped me out big time thank you

I just bought a 2002 Frontier in the same color and got kicked out of my parents basement too
What oil would you use for a 04 frontier XE with 247k miles
5-30
I have an 02 XE with 186k on it, I use Pennzoil 5w-30 high mileage full synthetic. Runs like a champ.
One important question is do you know JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR?
I do, do you?
