@@relicman It is definitely a pain. Consider it a badge of accomplishment now that it is done. :)
Just put my 08 frontier in the shop for a miss. Full tune up. Just got called 10 minutes ago from the mech, said hes pulling the intake to get to it. That's why I came here to if that's BS. Sounds like it isn't. I trust him hes been my mech for years but you always gotta check.
@@MrSubmariner13 lol. Pulling the intake often causes more problems with leaks due to the many thin metal pipes under the upper intake. Those intake hex bolts like to strip or break off as well. I always put kroil oil on the bolts, let it sit for a day, then use my 18 volt impact on the lowest setting, bump it to tighten, bump it to loosen. I believe the hammering of the impact helps to break loose any rust. I finish removing the hex bolts with a ratchet.
I was about to buy a Nissan (6 cilinders) but spark 6 its difficult to replace i prefer Toyota
I would like to get a Tundra.
I bet you there is a rope or a pipe or a line attached to that #6 plug that you can follow it RIGHT TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please certified nissan mechanic help
What is the question? I am sure there are some mechanics who might be able to help you.
@@RazorBucks i can get the older model robs great 87k on old one but deamed un taggable with bent fra
me .old mine 225k and having some hickups 300$ beats a new payment if its motor mounts and such match up
Would #6 be easier to change from underneath...?
Anyway, I'd much rather take a lil more time than remove the plenum. Just having to replace gaskets and remove 20+ parts to get to simple plug is b.s.. thanks nissan. Think ima hafta replace knock sensor too, wich will have to remove upper an lower plenum. Just hate that name now, p-l-e-n-u-m.... arrggh
I am not sure how you would get it from under.
@@RazorBucks it's 4X4. So plenty of room underneath. Just wondering if it'd be easier to reach laying on back than spread eagle over engine bay...
@@richardw6592 I have the 2WD version and I cannot reach my #6 from underneath.
@@RazorBucks is a joy to change oil without a jack stand... had p0300 an knock sensor code on recently... hoping new gas n plugs will take care of it. Couldn't put a knock sensor in a worse place...
@@richardw6592 some time this month or next, I will be finally putting my replacement engine in, it is stilling on a crate in my garage.
Don't adjust your plat plug gap with a coin bro
I’m going to kill myself on this last one 😭
I have a 2000 nissan as a driveway truck. Gets used for short runs basically i dont want to use my new gmc for. The thing is a design disaster. I will never buy another nissan. I know plug 6 very well as well as a million other things nissan did to make their vehicle a nightmare to work on. Disigned so ypu have to disassemble half the engine to do anything. NEVER BUYI G ANOTHER NISSAN EVER.
