Which is best? Facebook ads or Google ads?
Where should you be advertising your business?
In this video I compare Meta ads to Google ads. I explain the differences between the two and where you want to allocate your marketing budget depending on the products and services you offer.
Meta and Google are the two largest online advertising platforms by far and when most people refer to online advertising, they are talking about one or both of them.
Each ad platform has it's pros and cons and with more than a decade of experience advertising on both, running thousands of ad campaigns, I have thought about this question a lot!

I'm surprised you say that Meta has any support at all. While you can get suspended / banned on Google, you have to do something wrong. Meta just bans accounts randomly for no reason and there is a complete lack of support or logic.
Why every time I google something it ends up pooping up at face book
That’s probably because they have Meta Pixel installed on their website and after you visit, you are added to a retargeting audience and shown ads through that

When should I run the retargeting lookalike customer option and how will I know when Facebook machine learning is finished?
When you are sure of having enough data, create a lookalike ad.
When you wanted people to check back on your offer, create a retargeting ad
The learning phase depends
But between 5-7 or 14 days max

I would strongly recommend that you run both. Even if one of them is just for retargeting purposes.

One question: you said that FB / IG is better for lower order values, what would a "low order value" be roughly?
For example: right now I'm selling digital courses online, the cost is around $25 USD per course.
That is definitely lower order value. Anything less than $1,000 in my mind.

I love display ads for retargeting!!! The best
Google Ads retargeting is almost useless and usually the audiences don't work at all.
You probably left "Optimized targeting on" which means that your ads are probably being shown on obscure websites to bots.
And at 3am local time on random apps. You forgot that... most people don't know how to change those functions either.

That is incredibly high. Are you sure you’re using open targeting? What’s the niche?

Can someone confirm that when I set a budget for an ad set that is what will be the budget for all the ads in the ad set AND that FB's learning will flow more money to the best performing ad in that ad set? Or direct me to a video that will straighten me out if I'm wrong! :)
Yes that's all correct :)
Generally, yes. But my experience is that Meta often "makes a decision" too quickly and gets stuck with a suboptimal ad. So you really need volume, or you can pause the ad, stealing the majority of impressions to give a chance to the others.
