  • Teri Legato ft. King Tef, Johnny Rocketz, Victoria Loran and The Hearts of Worship
Produced by Teri Legato and H1media
Written by Teri Legato and King Tef
    Music by Chef Premier
A Teri Legato, H1 Media, and Empire Filmz Production
The purpose of this Song/Video Production is to remind the community of what Hip Hop was meant for when it was born. Hip Hop was created for those that were oppressed. Hip Hop can bring creativity to the uninspired, peace to the restless, calm to the anxious, direction to the misguided, and comfort to the sick. Segregation in place of unity was not the goals of the artists who created this music. However, merging of cultures and forming a better respect for humanity (I believe) was the true intentions behind this ART.
In this Song "Colors of Oppression" you will see a collaboration of genres of music, such as: Spoken Word, Classical, R&B, Hip Hop, and Gospel. There are ideas throughout the film with plenty irony. As we are trained to think one way, another outcome is delivered. We joined cultures, genders, generations, and different walks of life. This, combined with a unique style of art was all intended to give birth to one message; AWARENESS. While facing this AWARENESS we discover what we knew was there all along, but failed to address; STRUGGLE. In that realization of STRUGGLE we form a better idea of who we are and what we all have in common; PAIN. In the midst of finding value and COMPREHENSION of PAIN we grasp an UNDERSTANDING of what we so desperately seek; UNITY.
Special thanks to PJ Sierra/StaleArt of Denver, Colorado for the beautiful Mural.

Thank you to Hypnautic, King Tef, and Michael Gomez for keeping me together during this project.

Thanks to everyone who supported the project, and thank you to those who said it would never be possible.
To My daughter, Aleah (age 3) and my Father, James (age 81) thanks for reminding me "The Man Upstairs" had everything to do with this idea coming to life.

Ms Legato I just watched all of your videos and have to say you do have talent as a vocalist. If I'm honest I feel the videos were mostly organized but had a few random things going on that felt didn't go with each story you were telling. With that being said your production and videography were well done. I wish you success and will try to make it out to support you at local shows. Tell "hulk" to keep working on them acting skills.
